Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a while, things have been pretty busy since our return to England. It's lovely to be back, and we've settled nicely into our new flat. We had planned to buy somewhere and move again before the baby arrives but that clearly isn't going to happen now, I think we're both just a bit too tired for another move and all the admin that would entail. Fortunately the flat we're in now belongs to a member of my family so we're ok to stay here - we are very lucky and I'm finally able to do a bit of nesting, which is wonderful. We'll look at buying somewhere once the baby arrives.
Work has been pretty full on - I was in the office until nearly midnight the other night, but I hope that won't be the norm. I may be working up until the biter end (until 39+3) but fingers crossed I won't have to keep going quite that long and that the hours won't be too bad. Anyone else working until very late on? Sounds like many of you are on mat leave already (but then I'm due at the end of May so am nearly a month behind some of you).
I haven't seen a midwife yet since my return but I have an appointment booked for next weekend, which I'm really looking forward to (though am also a bit nervous about as I don't know what to expect). It will be interesting to see how they deal with me booking in so late, especially after my medical issues in Singapore. I suspect I'll be referred to a consultant but who knows.
Interesting to hear that so many of you watch OBEM - I absolutely can't go near it (nor call the midwife, nor even the short NHS clips of people giving birth). It's not just that I turn it off, I actively burst into tears - does anyone else react like this? Tell me it isn't just me!? To tell you the truth I'm pretty scared of the whole giving birth thing.
Anyway, lovely to hear all your news, hope those of you feeling rough have a really relaxing weekend and feel well soon. Lots of chocolatey goodness to the rest of you.
(31+2)
