Congratulations zoey well done love the name Max as well that is our top name for a boy. Hope he is doing great!
Sorry you seem to have an infection you are best to get it sorted I got a few uterine infections after DS (normal delivery) but took 6 weeks to clear up so stamp your feet to get it sorted Smile
Enjoy Max and looking forward to hear of more arrivals in the next weeks

FurryFox · 23/02/2013 17:42

shieldbug our hospital policy for induction is now term plus 10 but five years ago when I had dd2 it was 14 days which felt like a drag but then I think anything past 37 weeks is a drag cos feel like you're just waiting. Your fibroids don't sound much fun at all, hope they're not causing you too much discomfort.

Congratulations zoey on baby Max. It must have been lovely to have him with you straight away Smile.

Took the dc to see Wreck it Ralph today, bliss to sit in a bit comfy chair and not have to do anything for a couple of hours. Actually managed to not get too uncomfortable which makes a nice change. Went for a nice lunch afterwards but sitting at the table was really uncomfortable on my right boob, well underneath. Thought it might go when baby went head down but no luck, still so painful.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. Just finished packing the last bits for hospital bag Smile, just need baby to come now.

christilass · 23/02/2013 18:39

I'm due in 1 week .... 1st baby ....booked for a sweep 2 days after my due date .... is everyone very very calm ? ....i am and I'm beginning to wonder if this is a good thing ?

leniwhite · 23/02/2013 19:10

Congrats Zoey!

Christilass I feel calm too but still 4 weeks for me, not sure I'll be able to stay this way when it's that close!

Spent 2 hours putting my CDs on to my computer today, soooo boring... Trying to get rid of as much surplus crap as possible to make space. Got a swing chair today but it was really flimsy and badly made so sending back. Any recommendations? Found some really crazy star trek looking ones on John Lewis that look like dentist chairs Shock and move in different patterns... Odd, but maybe they work? Bloody should do for £140!

Countmyblessings · 23/02/2013 21:39

Zoey - congrats to you and the early but wonderful arrival of Baby Max!
After that I just saw csection and infection now am like " oh God" I hope that clears up quickly and you come back on here soon totally back to full health!!!!!
My 1st csection has been booked and I'm now dreading something going wrong!!!!! ( starts to panic) and with the BH I getting not sure if I will get to march!!!!!!

GummiberryJuice · 23/02/2013 23:58

Hi everyone, sorry said I would keep track and haven't been back but don't want to miss anyone's news so thought I would pop back on.

Furry I took my dcs to see wreck it Ralph yesterday and fell asleep in the middleBlush

Shield hope you are well, not long to go now.

Waves to everyone else and I'm going to scan back over everyone's news

shieldbug · 24/02/2013 00:49

hello gummi I keep wondering if any of the pg women I see locally are you! Good to hear you are still ok.

zoey well done! I'm sure at the beginning 36 weeks seemed like an impossible target. How fantastic that he didn't need to go to special care too. Max is a great name. Hope you are healing well and the infection soon clears up.

christilass stay calm! It's great that you feel that way. Hope the sweep is ok (I had several and they weren't too uncomfortable), but remember there's only a 50% chance of it having an effect.

Ood hopefully I will have an op post baby, but I have to be sure I don't want any more children first, as the chances are severely reduced. There's also a risk of a hysterectomy if there's lots of bleeding. Dh and I need to have some serious chats first.

I have finally washed ds's neutral baby clothes and packed them into my hospital bag enormous suitcase. We haven't constructed the cot yet, or put up curtains in the nursery and I still need to clean the moses basket (where lo will sleep during the day). I only got round to buying newborn nappies a week ago. Good job it's likely to be born late!

Emsyboo · 24/02/2013 09:20

sheild sounds like a difficult chat at the moment we don't want any more children after this but the thought of not having the choice is different there is risk of hysterectomy if I bleed in this section but hoping we'll be ok. You sound as organised as I am I have DH running round sorting things Smile

count are your braxton hicks painful? I am getting nervous about c section now but have too much time on my hands to think about it am asking the anaesthetist about any thing I can take to calm me down not a sedative as such but maybe a placebo at least as my pulse races just by talking about the section on Thursday and as I have an increased risk of bleeding out that isn't ideal.

christa sorry if name is wrong using phone and have a short memory ATM welcome and don't worry (I appreciate the irony as I am sitting worrying Wink) sweep isn't too bad but never worked for me hopefully baby will come before you need it x

StormyBrid · 24/02/2013 09:31

Congratulations to zoey, and welcome to baby Max. Give him a snuggle from all of us.

So, sex drives and pregnancy, they seem to be a bit buggered up here. The man got put off as soon as he became aware of the bump, so I had three months of enforced celibacy. Bump gets big and wriggly enough that I'm constantly aware of the baby, and suddenly he's got his sex drive back. Timing! But last night we managed to match up our libidos for the first time in what feels like forever. Now doing a happy dance and feeling like a real person rather than just an incubator. The logistics at 38+1 are a bit of a nightmare though.

Plan for today: buy potatoes; wash up; don't go into labour. Only six days until my birthing partner arrives!

JoJoBella84 · 24/02/2013 10:38

41 weeks today... Drumming fingers less patiently now :/

Countmyblessings · 24/02/2013 12:47

Plonko- I'm will try and relax it just means I have to prep my place for visitors and children!!! I know its awful but whenever loads of children are around things always end up broken or damaged and tons of toilet paper in the toilet!!!!! Then its those children that go in my room although told not too!!!! Blah( put it out my mind before panic starts again)
Emsy-BH not painful just more frequent the movement on my bladder are painful!
Today I'm going to get DH to take so pictures of me and bump and the rest of the DC nice black & white shots! ( excuse to get dressed up)
I was told that I would have to stay in hospital to recover min3 days max 5 how many stuff should I pack for myself currently got 2 nighties, 10 pants, 2 pack disposable pants, 20 mat pads, pack of breast pads, flip flops, socks, wash bag! Clothes ( tracksuit bottoms & LS tshirts/dressing)gown! Also snacks.

Oodsigma · 24/02/2013 13:18

I've got similar for a 2-3 day stay but have an overflow bag for if I have to stay longer. I'm hoping to be home day 2 this time.its the pads/knickers stuff that can go either way. Might need more than 2 nighties depending on leakages.

OP posts:
Countmyblessings · 24/02/2013 15:45

Ood- was def going to buy more nighties in lovely black or navy blue!! Nothing worse then getting up to see you have made a huge wet patch!
I have also got a pack of this maternity bed pads huge things that you can sit or lay on to save bed sheets etc!!!
Gutted - so we have a buggy that has been packed away as dc3 has Out grown it and was like yeh don't need to buy to discover can't find rain covers for either carrycot or stroller or the foot muff which was never used!!! Searched everywhere and still can't find it and the replacement for them are not cheap!!! Looked on few websites and foot muff alone is £100!!!!! Yeh not getting that then just worried as I def think I need rain covers and a good baby bag that fits on the buggy!!( had the boots one but it was awkward on buggy and keep get mixed up with others mums ones although tied huge blue ribbon on it)
I know I should be happy as got buggy already just gutted as I know when moved I brought everything over!!!!! Huge sigh!!!!

Oodsigma · 24/02/2013 15:52

The hospital had those bed mats last time. I was allergic though Confused so it's on my plan this time for me to have towels.

Ooh do you have towels in your bag?

OP posts:
Countmyblessings · 24/02/2013 16:20

Yeh ood- the hospitals one have the grey backing I think these ones are all white from mothercares!
Yes have 3 dark coloured huge towels! I also have pillow cases and a throw - my Suitcase is huge!!!!!! Just went through seeing if I overdid it! Nope I haven't! As hospital don't supply anything anymore!!!

Oodsigma · 24/02/2013 16:46

I've a suitcase with my stuff and a smaller bag with babies clothes. Plus a day 2-3 bag in case it's needed with more clothes & pads

OP posts:
Countmyblessings · 24/02/2013 18:29

Ood- def have another bag with extras in it but just don't want to have 2 seperate bags what I have is a separate side for my stuff and baby stuff on other side its a medium size suitcase hope it not over kill and I see
everyone else with a hand held bag!!!!!!

FurryFox · 24/02/2013 19:07

I've gone for a smaller sports type holdall this time and not packed much at all. I've put babies bits in a small change bag as couldn't fit it in with mine. I went completely over the top the last two times and didn't use much of the stuff so this time not got as much. Though I do think much better to take too much than not enough Smile. Dh is quite good at getting things together as long as he is given clear instructions if I were to need extra and my mum will be staying at our house and she'll certainly know what she's doing Smile.

Sorry if this has been mentioned up thread but can I just ask how much of everything you are packing for baby? Vests, nappies etc? You would think as its dc3 I would know but I jut can't remember what I took before apart from remembering I didn't use everything.

WithNailandI · 24/02/2013 19:17

Hi, I couldn't keep up with early threads. I'm now 39 weeks. Hope everyone is doing as well as can be with new babies/end of pregnancy. Anyone else trying for a VBAC?

GummiberryJuice · 24/02/2013 19:21

Shield funny a couple of weeks ago there was a girl in waiting room with her little boy, I wondered if it was you, his name began with H and he was in a big blue buggy?
I've been there every 2 weeks from before Christmas.

I am going to check my bag and have a bath I know I have at least 3 weeks to go but a girl can dream!

WithNailandI · 24/02/2013 19:25

I've packed about 5 vests and 5 sleepsuits plus cardie, a couple of hats and blanket. Probably gone overboard....

Oodsigma · 24/02/2013 19:34

I've packed about 12 sleep suits. Remember going through them fast last time & dh doing an emergency run to asda between visiting (also re clothed himself!) and then dd4 came out in a rash from the new ones

OP posts:
FurryFox · 24/02/2013 19:37

Thanks for that. I've packed 4 of each, might put a couple more in I think. I've packed about 15 nappies, I can't even remember how many nappies newborns get through Confused.

Oodsigma · 24/02/2013 19:47

Depends how long you expect to be in. Think I was working on 10 a day but don't think there was method in that!

OP posts:
SoYo · 24/02/2013 19:54

Congratulations Zoey, hope you & baby Max are doing well. Lovely name for the wee man!

Thank you whoever mentioned towels! Not sure it'll be a relaxing shower/bath post-labour when I have to try and wrap myself in a hospital tea-towel sized towel! Must remember to put that and another nightie in my bag!

Bubba not moved much in past 48hrs so had 2 trips to labour ward for monitoring. Been fine both times but movements definitely slowed so in for a scan of the liquor volume & placental function tomorrow. I'm sure it's fine but better safe than sorry. Did feel like a bit of a tit going in again for the second day running but just not worth it if something was wrong!

I've packed 3 sets of baby clothes, 10 pairs of pants, a pack of pads and then other bits and bobs like hats, cardio, blanket etc.
