Sept 2013?

legoboat · 22/12/2012 19:42

Hello - bit early, but I definitely had two positives this morning, wanted to check on drinking vodka this evening or not. I make due date 4th Sep 2013.
I had to terminate a pregnancy in late Sep at 13ish weeks because of incompatible with life diagnosis, so hope that doesn't happen again (I have a 25% chance but hopefully I'll fall in the 75% this time).

Can I join you ladies please? Got my BFP yesterday (and another one this morning...and another one an hour ago Blush ).

AF officially due today so I'm on pantwatch and definitely getting that panicky feeling each time! Not really having any symptoms so far except a really mild, constant crampy feeling low down - in fact it's not even really cramping, just feels more like heat than pain. It's odd, but strangely reassuring at the same time!

I called my doctor this afternoon and they've booked me in to see the midwife on the 17th, at which point I'll be 6 weeks, all being well.

Have added myself to stats list:

Jm233 - I thought I was the only person with sickness so im glad to see thats not the case. I hope yours has eased off!? I tend to get it when I wake, then at lunch (which makes eating at work difficult) and then sometimes again around 6pm. Does anyone know if this is normal? Im worried it might get progressively worse considering its still only early days.

I know what some of the other people mean about worrying each time i go to the loo! I get a horrible feeling in the pitt of my stomach each time.

Xx

Arf spanishlady you've added me twice

I already stuck myself on the list with EDD 10 Sept :o

jm233 · 02/01/2013 15:00

Kim- it really hasn't been too bad, the only time I felt truly awful was yesterday morning. I do get several bouts of mild sickness a day, but it's not really enough to disturb me from whatever I'm ip to. I found that sugary drinks like coke really help (it was never going to be something healthy)!

I wanted to ask- when you go for your first midwife/ GP appointment, do they listen for a heartbeat, or does that only happen at the 12 week scan? I've read/ heard both ways.

weechops · 02/01/2013 15:21

Hello all

I also got my bfp yesterday on New Year's Day. I'm 33 and I have 2 monsters already so this will be weechops3 and is due 14th september. I'll pop myself on the list now

Ooh yes jm233, I wanted to know the answer to that too! Also, I've got a scan next Monday (will be 8 +2) and am a bit nervous about if they'll use the dildocam or not. With DS1, we were considering a termination and had a scan at the clinic; can't remember exactly when it was but I think it was around 7 weeks and they didn't use the dildocam. Am several stone heavier now though so would that make a difference?

Oh, and congratulations to everyone who's joined! Grin

CrikeeThree · 02/01/2013 15:25

Hello everyone. Wow! what a lot of us there are already :)

Am feeling a little scared but also excited.
Just did a test. It's positive.
DC3 for me, if all goes well.

Had first two DC very close together (20months apart) and it was HECTIC!!
Life has just begun to settle down again.... but I always wanted 3.
So here I am.

I want to shout it from the rooftops, but kind of feel like I can't just yet.
I think due date will be 6th Sep?

It stops me feeling crazy anyway, as I felt that I just 'knew' I was pregnant, but thought that sounded too much like wishful thinking. Anyway... here I am!

Was feeling terribly sick last week, but haven't been feeling so bad this week. Am hoping that's not a bad sign.

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 02/01/2013 15:29

Ah, I think the nausea varies from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy, so I don't think it "means" anything IYSWIM.

How old is DC2 crikeethree?

Kittenkatzen · 02/01/2013 15:34

:o

Congratulations crikee - come and shout it from the MN rooftops here for now!

jm and weewee when I spoke to my docs earlier and booked in for the 17th, she didn't mention a scan at all, just said I'd meet for a chat with the midwife and asked me to pop in and pick up a pregnancy pack to read beforehand - apparently I have to go armed with ideas on where I want to give birth! Shock. DH picked the pack up for me earlier so I'll have a look at it tonight and let you know what's in it. Maybe the procedure varies depending on where you are though (I'm in Sussex)

CrikeeThree · 02/01/2013 15:34

He's just over 2.
So he'll be heading towards 3yo by September. And DS1 will be 4 and a half.

Yes. Am hoping that about nausea. Ridiculous, isn't it?
As soon as the nausea does kick in again, I'll be cursing the day I was "wishing" for it!

CrikeeThree · 02/01/2013 15:36

Thanks Kitten
It's just such a relief to be able to "shout" it somewhere.

andadietcoke · 02/01/2013 15:59

Hello! I promised myself I wouldn't come on here for a few weeks, but I'm impatient! Faint BFP on 30/12, EDD 13th September, first DC after a mc at 6+1 in November (so that's my first milestone!). LMP was 3rd/4th December but I don't think I ov'ed until 21st December so very early days yet.

I'm beyond paranoid. Had cramps but they've stopped now. Nausea seems to be completely random (and may or may not just be jet lag as have been in the US since Boxing Day). Pretty much down to light headedness and sore boobs which are probably only sore because I poke them so much to check they're still sore

Congratulations to everyone, and fingers crossed for lots of happy, healthy, September babies!

Whyriskit · 02/01/2013 19:18

Congratulations everyone. Just cooking dinner and feeling seriously queasy. Have
SIL & BIL round and wish i could tell them but going to avoid it just yet.
At least with it being January I can just say I'm not drinking for a month!
Think it'll be interesting to see how hospital practises vary according to where we are in the country, eg I didn't get a 20 wk scan with DS1 (now 5) here in Scotland.

BelleEtLaBete · 02/01/2013 19:48

Lied through my teeth today. Tried to convince my skeptical colleague that I didn't want a proper coffee because I've given up caffeine for new year. And, that I didn't want a glass of wine after work because I've, um... Given up alcohol for new year. And that I was drinking ginger tea for a cold (the last one is true, but by this point I think he suspected) :)

Fib fib fib. I also ate nearly all the biscuits in the meeting today. You've got to be quick around me and biscuits at the moment!

kimjayne · 02/01/2013 21:46

Anyone else out there watching One Born Every Minute?? .... Yikes!!! Why did i turn this on?

Starfishkiss · 02/01/2013 21:49

I am! Eek! Scary stuff!

islingtongirl · 02/01/2013 21:55

Hey MeanMrsMustard, sorry for slow response! I'm 6 weeks 4 days, just got my midwife 1st appointment at UCH for 18th Jan, will be about 9 weeks, then scan on 11th feb. went for UCH as 1) closest in miles to me! And 2) went there recently for a relative and seemed like a nice, clean modern hospital plus has a big, fairly new maternity wing. God knows though, I'm really not that clued up either!

Hey everyone else, hope you are all feeling ok! I think the MS has started for me :( right on cue when I wake up as well, lovely!

WeeWeeWeeAllTheWayHome · 02/01/2013 21:58

I'm not watching it this time round. Watched the entire first series before DS was born (last episode shown the week I had him) and was so psyched up about how dramatic/painful it was going to be that I didn't realise I was in labour for 3 days, none of the midwives took me seriously and DS was almost born at home.

Think I'll stick to Africa!

amiready · 02/01/2013 22:04

hello everyone! just marking place. So lovely to hear from everyone. Isn't it all so exciting!
Kimjayne- no nausea for me yet! Just fairly regular diarrhoea - oo-er! And some strange things going on with the old nipples!! Re your question - I don't work full time - only part time which will make the subterfuge easier hopefully - going to appointments etc. Just supposed to be getting my contract even though I've been working there 5 months already! Silly incompetent people - gah!

Going to ring GP tomorrow and make appt! Also considering a private scan around 7 weeks but might wait and see what the NHS offers! Excited. Also really really really want to tell my mum - would want her to know if had mc anyway, BUT do not want to tell my MIL - as would NOT want her to know if had mc....but trying to be fair to DH. What do you guys think about one set of parents knowing before the other? Is it fair? It's not really is it? But girls are (on average) closer to their mums than boys??? What are people's opinions?
Anyway, off to read in bed and try and switch off this wired brain that won't think about anything other than babies......Grin

jm233 · 02/01/2013 22:07

Wee, I watched Africa and wept uncontrollably at the giraffes fighting... Maybe I should've watched one born every minute!

SGJ · 02/01/2013 23:26

Evening all. Checking in from my phone so no idea who's said what or when so welcome and congratulations to all the new ladies!
I have success to report - I think I got away with it on NYE as everyone thought I was drunk but in reality had been on the Schloer all night. V impressed as (like another poster) all our friends have at least 1 DC and are like hawks on the lookout for the next preggers lady.
I am as bad as the rest of them usually but for me I prefer to keep it secret until we've had the scan an everything's looking good. Have had too many sad experiences with my sister's miscarriages to want to announce it early myself, so thank Goodness for MN as its only me, DH, my sister and BIL that know so far and I want to chat about it!!

For those of you asking about midwife appts - around 8 weeks is just a booking in appointment where they'll take all your details and work out if there are likely to be any problems, at least that's how it's done where I am (Essex). Then they're the ones that refer you to the hospital for the 12 week dating scan.
And based on my sister's experience, a scan at 8 weeks could potentially be normal scan, but possibly dildocam... I think it just comes down to what they think will get the best images.

Phew - that's all for now, off to bed at last!
