Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 09:28

I have watched a couple of obem and found myself very grateful my bump stops me seeing my fanjo doing any of that! I like seeing the new baby but all the ick and blood [squeamish emoticon]

Withalittlesparkle · 11/01/2013 12:23

im beginning to get rather terrified of the whole birth thing!!!

A list of what I dont want to happen:
I dont want to poo
I dont want to vomit
I dont want blood to be dribbling from me
I dont want to have to walk round in trousers after my waters have broken
I dont want to scream
I dont want to hear other people screaming

I realise all these things are totally beyond my control but just thinking about it all has me petrified!!!

When the time comes spark you really won't be that fussed! But it's entirely normal to worry...

I think bookclub last night did the trick. MrWhim is staying home from work and we're all set to drive through rush hour to hospital in a bit. Although actually I've barely had a cx for the lady hour. I hope this one isn't messing about!

whimsicalname · 11/01/2013 12:41

That would be last hour, not lady hour.

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 12:55

Ooh Whims so that means you have been having contractions :) good luck Thanks

Try not to worry Sparks by the time you are in labour the list is the last thing you will be thinking of Wink

whimsicalname · 11/01/2013 13:32

Gah, I'd forgotten how boring this am I aren't I bit is...

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 13:38

Oh Whims we will keep you company. So what has happened up until now?

TheLittleFriend · 11/01/2013 13:40

Just a quick one from me to say good luck Whims! Smile

And Sparks, have you considered a home birth? You wouldn't have to hear others screaming.

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 13:46

Sparks ask if they offer tours around the birth unit you will use, all the room at mine were sound proof, I didn't hear a peep, it could be very reassuring :) also I didn't so much scream as hum and grunt between giving the G and A a good suck Grin

whimsicalname · 11/01/2013 15:25

Ooh I've had a show. First one I've had. Or at least noticed. Cx still a bit hit and miss tho.

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 15:31

Ooh Whims I have never had a show either, it is all looking very good for an imminent sneeze birth :)

whimsicalname · 11/01/2013 15:57

I'm now sitting in the car in a supermarket carpark while MrWhim hunts down the friend who's having the toddler. Home birth is so much easier!

clickingtock · 11/01/2013 16:15

Whims, fab news. We're brooking like billio! Dying to meet whimlet4.

Smegs, shocked by your story of bf bullying. Thank goodness at least you now have nipples of steel. Hope you are feeling better after bleed, lovely. Poor you.

Little, can report that nipple shields are working for me and Astrid while I heal. Worth investing just in case? MWs don't approve but if it gets us through... Also I managed without with DS 3 years ago but now I've got two kids and can't sit around crying all day!

Sparks, you gotta woman up to it to get the great gift of a baby was my response... But you're right, it's pretty animal! Hypnobirthing helps with issues/fears. I never had much dignity in first place so poo/vom etc not my issue but I can't stand people taking control of my life so was determined to avoid intervention where I could. Btw - I didn't raise my voice in either of my births and even cracked the odd joke tho I'm afraid I can't deny the bodily fluids bit. If u get a water birth your baby comes out nice n clean. Smile

Stasi you are doing fab with bf and T's body weight. You star. Keep using Lansinoh and latch shd improve because baby's mouth grows bigger. A better group anywhere with new mums like you?

Hugs to all. Hope sufferers are getting some rest.

I am in love with Astrid. Had bad day3 blues and got v worried about her cord which to my embarrassment fell off when I insisted on HV appointment, but it's all fine and she is only just shy of her birthweight this morning in MW visit. But had much better night last night and my boys did too. Everyone has sent such lovely messages and gifts, it's such a special time for us in it. BrewBrewBrew

BartletForTeamGB · 11/01/2013 16:27

whims, hope this is it!

sparks, like tock, I can't deny that the sieve was used in the birth pool BUT I didn't shout or scream with either (albeit very different) delivery. When I was on delivery suite, I didn't hear any shouting or screaming from anyone else, and when I was at home, my neighbours didn't even realise that DS had arrived for several days when we knocked on the door to introduce DS to them!

My blood sugars are looking good, so hoping that the scan is all wrong! scarlet has said it will all be fine therefore it will be!

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 17:16

Just thought I would share, Toddly boo has just come down stairs really upset cos he has bashed his leg elbow Grin ooh too cute!!!!

clickingtock · 11/01/2013 17:24

Bartlet, that's fab re' blood sugars. Scans can be misleading I've always felt.

Boo, that is v cute indeed. Grin

clickingtock · 11/01/2013 17:25

Ps can you tell I'm pinned to the sofa by Astrid? Wink

NewYearNewBoo · 11/01/2013 17:31
