Got to log into the very last antenatal thread. Good luck Clarella!!!

TheDetective · 08/12/2012 17:28

Oh, there is a last fred Grin.

Come on Clarella!

(Is there anyone else?!)

horseylady · 08/12/2012 18:00

It's quite sad really the last ante natal thread :(

Good luck those left!!!

Clarella · 08/12/2012 18:01

Arse tried to claim last post!!!! (wink)

I bought a pineapple but I think it will sit there as a talisman. Along with a pumpkin I still have. Will try dtd! Not doing curry, I don't want to smell or poo curry if it does happen. I reckoned a good side of roast beef tonight and more tomorrow to stock up on iron Grin!

My god I didn't realise it was 19 days detective?!?! I was never sure which thread to go on - I'm on the December one too Blush

Slightly embarrassing I may be the only one Hmm unless anyone else joins me?!

There is a lot of pressure down there and I think baby is doing that shelving thing (?) Anyway his bum and feet are sticking out lower and more forward than before.

Baby on this one!!!!!

pikz · 08/12/2012 18:50

Come on baby Clarella!

StuntNun · 08/12/2012 21:15

I like pineapple and curry so I didn't mind those too much. DTD is a good idea cos you probably won't feel like it afterwards. Grin

I was induced with my first two deliveries, I definitely needed the epidural for the first but for the second I was on the lowest setting of the drip and I just about managed without the epidural. Hopefully the gel will work and you won't need the drip.

Bryzoan · 09/12/2012 08:07

Mummytobe went for induction end of last week? Hope she is enjoying cuddles by now and just too tired to post / has no connection. Hugs mummytobe if you are reading!

Well running out of options so housework and relaxing today - hospital phoned going in at 9 am :)

StuntNun · 09/12/2012 11:40

Ooh good luck for tomorrow Clarella. How are things looking on the December thread?

OP posts:
Clarella · 09/12/2012 11:53

It's raining babies amongst the December ladies! A few fast ones too :)

Would I have any clue my cervix is changing? If I met a mw in the street I think I'd kidnap her right now to check!

We've just set up a brio bedside cot we were given so that it's one massive bed extension :) it may not work and I may end up with the moses basket but considering from what I can tell they tend to be surgically attached to you at first I reckoned a good starting place!

Bryzoan · 09/12/2012 13:11

Ah enjoy today clarella - big hugs to you. Cot sounds fab. I splashed out o. A bednest on eBay this time which sounds similar. much easier than the Moses basket I had with dd (who ended up perpetually asleep on my chest anyway). Ds actually sleeps in the bednest. Bliss!

Thechick · 09/12/2012 14:30

Is there just one baby left??

Clarella · 09/12/2012 14:45

My nct teacher emailed me to explain about expectant management bishops score etc. Briefly explained to dh may be in same situation (he's trying not to be grumpy!) but hoping they will at least give me info about the state of my placenta etc if cervix still stubborn. I will be pumping them of all the info they can give. Not sure I'm strong enough to do what detective did but I'd like to know I'm making the best choice for baby :)

georgee · 09/12/2012 15:17

Best of luck Clarella, yes, find out exactly where you are before making a decision. Knowledge is power! Best of luck.

Bryzoan I'm considering a bednest. Did you get the NCT one?

TheDetective · 09/12/2012 16:17

You have to do what is best for you and your baby! We are all individual!

For what it is worth, my cervix was being an utter twat and not changing at all between 40+6 and 42+5 when I finally caved! It wasn't terribly unfavourable, but not favourable the way I would have liked! Anyway, I had a feeling breaking my waters would do the trick, and I was right, it did. I didn't need anything else. Not many times an ARM alone does the job from cold so to speak. I think it was the right time for me.

You will know when it is the right time for you too.

mrswee · 09/12/2012 18:38

just popped in to say hi Clarella not had a lot of tme to check up on you!

mummytobe1990 · 09/12/2012 19:07

hi all! pleased to announce Kiana Jade Herridge was born at 4.20am on the 8/12/12....
birth wasnt exactly straight forward though...went for induction on wednesday....4 prostin pessaries and 2 days later still no sign of anything happening so friday evening about 7ish they managed to break my waters. contractions started almost immediately after..from that point on everything went tits up!! my midwife was a bitch and didnt listen to anything i had to say! refused me a water birth even though there was no medical reason i couldnt have one and told me i was making it up when i said i needed to push......i then spent 3 hours fighting the urge to push as she said 'you cant of dilated that quickly' (she also refused to check me so how she could of known?!?!) when a doctor came in later to check me (surprise surprise fully dilated) i was then too tired to push for more than an hour and ended up with an assisted delivery. as a result i know have torn/split stomach muscles, lost a lot of blood and had to be cut to help her out.

at least shes healthy though and cute as a button :D

Congratulations mummytobe! So sorry you had a really horrid mw, not good and hope you heal soon. Lovely name mummy!

Thanks for the advice peeps - last Thursday cervix was grand 0. Just have to see about placenta etc which is my other worry. I'm not far off 36 dunno if that makes a difference.

Iheartpasties · 09/12/2012 22:08

congrats mummytobe

Bryzoan · 09/12/2012 22:44

Huge congrats mummytobe. So frustrated for you re being told not to push and your difficult birth - big hugs. Hope you have a good recovery.

Clarella - I'm 38 and that was one of the reasons my consultant was very against letting me go much past 42 weeks. It is hard to be sure how the placenta is functioning I think. All you can do is monitor movement carefully, have regular Ctgs and some extra scans if you wait it out. Gregory turned up by himself in the endbang on 42 weeks. My placenta was still good - but he does have a lot of dry skin. He was def ready to be born... It is such a hard decision. Good luck whatever you decide.

Georgee - yes it in the Nct bednest. I love it.

StuntNun · 10/12/2012 00:33

Why isn't the post-natal thread working? When I click on it Mumsnet closes.

pikz · 10/12/2012 02:29

It's doing the same to me stunt
