Hi lavicious Im due the 26th April Smile.

24 weeks today which feels a bit of a milestone!
Feeling massive atm, haven't dared weigh myself. I thought I was doing ok and am still wearing most of my normal clothes (not trousers) but there are definitely lumps and bumps where there weren't any before! Non-stop eating over Christmas hasn't helped.
Our top name is Elena. I like Thea but my DH has vetoed that although its his surname that is awkward to put names with!!

Missmuffet28 · 04/01/2013 11:27

I'm most jealous of all you that have short lists! I have MY list with quite a few names I like id be happy with any of them! needless to say dp doesn't like ANY of them! And I don't like the 1 boys name he has suggested, so I really don't know what we are going to do I fear we will have a nameless baby! People will be asking what we called him and I'm gonna look a right wally saying we haven't decided yet!! I know we still have 3 months to go but we all know that's going to fly by!

What's your opinions ladies help me out!
Beans surname will be dp's so will begin with M its also a name if that matters lol!
I already have a Bradley Matthew B***

My list is
Oscar
Toby
Max
Bobby
Bailey
Harrison
Henry
Freddie
Corey

Dp's list is
Joshua.....

Here's a name for the short lists of more unusual names, I really like it but family member with same name so can't use it! I can just imagine a little toddler running about with this name!!
Spencer Grin

BonaDea · 04/01/2013 11:28

photo - Elena is also way to the top of our list (we really like the shortening Ellie, but have a few friends called Eleanor, hence Elena and Elizabeth being faves for us).

I also love Imogen, Camilla, Lyra, Rebecca and Cora.

Boys - playing it safe with William, James, Thomas, Luke, Adam (only slightly unusal one on the list is Lachlan)

Teapig · 04/01/2013 11:50

Welcome Lavicious and congratulations!

Trishstar, I love the name Hunter Isaac, it's gorgeous. I think pretty much every name gets a blasting on the name forum. I think you've made a great choice.

Faith, our surname isn't particularly hard to spell but we do always seem to have to spell it out. It's an Irish surname so would work well with Fionnuala but it worries me to give baby two names she'll always have to spell out. I quite like the simplicity of Isla but just can't decide.

Missmuffet I love Oscar, Toby and Harrison and your DP's choice of Joshua too.

Trishstar · 04/01/2013 12:03

Teapig thanks!

Isla is pretty too x maybe that'll work better if you say you have to spell out your surname!

I don't have particularly unusual first and last names myself but have always had to spell them out.

lavicious · 04/01/2013 12:30

Not sure what flavor cz the baby hides a lot bt they think its a girl, it will be confirmed if decides2 show us on the next scan, I'm so jealous of u guys cz in my culture we don't prepare hospital bag atleast until u enter the8th month. But I wish I could hey maybe that's what is making me so anxious cz I feel I should atleast do some things sigh.my anxiety has decreased since joining this group so I hope it just disappear's

twinklesparkles · 04/01/2013 13:27

Glad you're anxiety is getting better lavicious :)

Anyone else mega tired? And mega hungry?

Bloody shattered and starving :( been eating loads and sleeping enough...

I've done a little bit of cleaning today, honestly not much and feel half dead

Very thirsty, wondering if its a low blood pressure issue again :/

Got scan wednesday :) yay! Can't wait to see my little girl again

BonaDea · 04/01/2013 13:39

twinkles - keep an eye on the thirst as it can be a sign of diabetes, although am sure it would be picked up at your next urine test if it is an issue...

lavicious · 04/01/2013 13:45

Congrats photochick n yeah it is a huge milestone. Lol I can't believe ur old clothes still fit u, @twinklesparkle thank u bery much.yes being hungry most of the day is very normal I eat 4times a day excluding fruits n veggies.I'm not sure about the thirst but I think maybe you not drinking enough water

Crazytictac · 04/01/2013 14:11

Wow, thanks for all the responses ladies. Appreciated! There are some great names in your short lists/ chosen names too. sneezy love Jonah and Theo.

fluffeh and aufaniae hope your heartburn clears. It's horrible!

bonadea I think some people think its some sort of weird compliment to tell you that you look huge when pregnant. If it's any consolation I feel the same at the moment. Have had the twins comment, I await the triplet one... We really like Elena but both pronounce it differently so couldn't really use it!

teapig very pretty names, maybe baby teapig will decide her name when she arrives. We went with our second choice name for DS as he just didn't seem the one we'd chosen.

trishstar sorry people were mean about your name choices, they'd never be like that in real life to your face! I bet little Hunter will suit his name just lovely.

missmuffet great name choices. The only two I wouldn't choose myself are Bailey and Harrison but just personal preference. One of yours is my DS so im biased! Maybe give some really outlandish name choices to DS and then suggest your favoured ones again in a few weeks, he'll be relieved and more amenable then Wink

Welcome lavicious! Good to have you on board

twinklesparkles · 04/01/2013 14:30

Thanks bonadee :)

Had a urine test om 14th dec, all was fine

Ill prob have another one when I go for scan wednesday, if not I've got anti natal in a week and will have one then

If its still bad wednesday ill ask at the hospital :)

Trishstar · 04/01/2013 15:25

Thanks crazytictac like you said I'm sure nobody would actually say anything IRL!

Is anybody else starting to feel really full up even if you've only eaten something little? I feel bloated all day!!!

lutrinae · 04/01/2013 15:33

Happy New Year April ladies!

Good to hear how everyone's doing. Don't often have time to post but do read everything. Thanks for the advice way back about ante natal classes -sorry too far back to name check. In the end we decided to stump up for NCT as they are letting us pay in instalments.

Had my 26 week app this week and the MW was pretty uncommunicative but I assume everything was ok. The measurements she wrote in my book mean nothing to me. It was weird but cool hearing the heartbeat.

My main complaint at the moment is insanely achey leg muscles, especially around the inner thigh. It feels like someone hit them with planks! Trying to sleep with a pillow betwixt legs but I roll about so much it always ends up on the floor.

Watched OBEM with some trepidation. Now determined to get listening to some hypno-birth cd I was given as my terror of labour has been renewed. Have also warned DP that he is banned from acting like either the shouty or the hippy partner. Luckily that's pretty unlikely. Smile

Missmuffet28 · 04/01/2013 15:49

Trish, me! I LOVE my food and it pains me to not be able to finish a meal! I'm probably not even eating half a meal at the moment (I possibly eat too much anyway but that's not the point Grin)

usernamegoeshere · 04/01/2013 15:57

thanks Faith was worrying a bit about that. Doctors is closed now until Monday morning anyway, luckily they do same day appointments if you call before 8.30 so will see how I go over the weekend. I have paracetamol, lockets, baby vapour rub (lasts until April 2014, so at least baby can use too!) & will steam to try keep chest loose.

Oh & I have hot blackcurrant too, yummy.

Photochick I was wearing normal clothes with the exception of jeans until about 3 days ago too! I do like my maternity clothes now I have them though, & they are quite roomy so I am hoping to just stick to the same 5 tops, 2 jeans , 1 leggings & 1 dress until April...

In other news, I have a very pregnant bellybutton, I keep fiddling with it & putting cream on it as its a bit sore.

Novia · 04/01/2013 16:18

Hey everyone! I posted on the first of these threads, but lost it when it filled up. Glad to see everyone's updates! Really not long to go now - think it'll fly by for everyone now that Christmas is over! :)

I'm 27 weeks today (due 5th April) and we are having a little girl. Any date twins out there? :) Also wondered if any of you guys are based around Sevenoaks as we moved recently and would be good to have some local friends?!

We are having a 4D scan next Wednesday which I am very excited about! Has anyone else had one yet - was it cute or creepy?!

EssexWelsh · 04/01/2013 16:42

Got some tips for colds/sore throats/coughs, I had one before Xmas and honestly it only lasted a day or two with what I took, felt horrific on the Saturday then by Monday almost back to normal-stunned as I am a take a tablet for anything kind if girl normally.

-Gargle warm salt water, add as much salt as you can take without it making you sick, to a mug of hot water, gargle for 1 min then spit, repeat until mug empty. I swear this sorted my sore throat, even though I told my MIL it wouldn't work-doh!
-honey, lemon, hot water, was tasty like a lemsip especially if you take at same time as paracetamol
-tyrozets lozenges that the chemist recommended
-spoon of vics in a bowl of hot water, with towel over to steam you out, but clean it out straight after, as left a horrible residue.

phantomhairpuller · 04/01/2013 16:43

Hello! A bit slow on the uptake it that's me all over Wink DS2 due 28th April x

usernamegoeshere · 04/01/2013 17:24

welcome Phantom & thank you Essex I just put some vapoury stuff on my chest so will wait a few hours then steam some.

Gargling salt water sounds like another great plan. Will let you know how it goes!

welcome back Novia 4D scan sounds so exciting! Will you get a dvd with it to show your family too?

growyourown77 · 04/01/2013 18:32

Hi novia we're having a 4D scan on 3 feb (my birthday!) so really looking forward to it. It was a Groupon bargain too. :)

I'm in Faversham...so not immediately local, but in Kent. Also having a girl. Due April 23. Feel free to PM me. X

WeeHans · 04/01/2013 18:57

Hi Novia, I'm due April 4, which is pretty close.

This is my first post, but I've been around, so to speak.

Fluffeh · 04/01/2013 19:09

phantom we have the same due date :).

I've booked for nct classes but the days are a bit awkward. DP can't do Saturdays or Tuesday nights and of course that's when the classes are! We're hoping he can juggle some things around but the Saturdays probably won't work, hopefully I can convince someone else to come for those.

KatyT86 · 04/01/2013 20:05

Hi all!

Totally struggle keeping up with all these feeds but comforting to know we're all experiencing the same stuff! I've been asked if I'm carrying twins since I was 15 weeks :( now have SPD and a mahoosive bump. He's a healthy chappy though.

Anyone know any good heartburn remedies? Getting about three hours sleep a night because of it - really flagging.... Also, spend a lot of time feeling really bloated and sickly. Don't really know what to do.

26+3 weeks
X

tattooedapril87 · 04/01/2013 20:29

any advice for me and my bellybutton???!!! its on the turn and its so sore!!!???

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 04/01/2013 20:34

Hi Katy. I assume you're trying gavisvkn? Try to avoid fatty foods and citrus where you can, you might find being more upright at night (extra pillow) helps you with the heartburn too. If its a persisting issue, see your GP as medicine might help.

I dunno about belly buttons! Try applying bio-oil?
