essex glad you had a lovely visit home. Bet your DH will be glad to have you home and looking after him again. If he's anything like my dad, he's had an operation on his knee two weeks ago and when mum isn't around he gets on with things he shouldn't.

We've just had another birthday party for DD's 2nd today, with my family, who were a little handsy with my bump, wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so offensive about my weight/looks etc. I just hate that my family are a bunch of sarky grumps, who can dish it out and hate it when it's dished back out. Just argh! Glad I am home now, we are eating leftover cake watching Cool Runnings which I recorded earlier.

I don't know about you guys I am having horrible nightmares, I woke up crying this morning, poor DH that really freaked him out. I can't believe how vivid it bloody was.

1 more day of work then i get 1 whole day off!!!

I'm absolutely shattered, feet are burning after work today.

Now my bump is getting bigger customers seem to think its ok to just touch it without asking!

On the plus side though I bought 2 new dresses (one for Christmas Day and one for New Year) and some heels.

mumof2cats I think they call it 'fundal height' measurement. They measure from pubic bone to the top of the palpable uterus / bump.
I've been reading up on it and apparently measurement varies a lot from midwife to midwife - that's why they have a 2cm either way acceptable tolerance.
I feel huge and people say I look huge (I'm quite a small build) - but apparently not!!

So excited to hit the sales - mostly online though because I'm not sure I can brave the highstreet!!

So what are you April ladies doing about beverages over the festive period? I'm currently nursing a hot chocolate whilst the family around me are drinking spirits!
I was considering a Buck's Fizz on Christmas morning but it seems silly to indulge just because it's traditional when I haven't had anything for the last 5 months!

I got told today I look like I'm about drop by a bank HCSW Xmas Hmm I'm only just really showing! I'm going to get a hell of a lot bigger I'm sure!

Well there wasn't a huge choice in the Next sale but I got a couple of cute sleep suits and one lovely outfit! I also bought a couple maternity jumpers for me Xmas Grin

I'm going to have a tipple tomorrow (first one since August) but that'll be it.I'm working Christmas night and over New Year so i won't bother otherwise!

Missmuffet28 · 24/12/2012 00:13

Likecandy I am going to refrain from any alcohol purely because after just a small one I would possibly want more mmmm rosé wine!!! Grin

Fluffeh · 24/12/2012 06:52

I didn't manage to convince DP to come shopping :( I can't blame him really it'll be crowded and awful so we're going to wait for new year instead.

I won't be drinking anything alcoholic over Xmas because when I had one drink a few weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary I got really sick. Still I was never a big fan of alcohol anyway.

It's Christmas Eve, this time next year I'll be a Christmas mum :).

KelleStarOfWonder · 24/12/2012 07:29

Another night of nightmares and I was up and down. DD was awake extra early as well, we have 5 supported housing bungalows opposite and they've installed some super powerful security lights that go off at anything [a tree at the moment, waving in the wind/rain] and it's so intense it goes through DD's blackout blind and curtains.

Though I'm a next account holder I don't get any information about the sales from them and I am a fairly regular customer. Tells me once I log in that I can't access the sale site until 3pm today :( was hoping to get some maternity stuff to keep me cosy.

I might have a cider shandy with my lunch tomorrow, but I'm not much of a drinker anyway. My family love the booze and I think their embarrassing antics have always put me off.

Fundal Height measurements are really inaccurate. I was measuring big all through my last pregnancy yet growth scans were showing DD was small for dates. Scan said baby would be 6lbs ish, MW's said at least 9lbs. The scan's were more accurate. It really has so many opportunities to be inaccurate. Depending on how baby is lying, any weight you are carrying and what your tummy muscles are like. I look at my notes from last time and i can see the FH or Fundal Height vary quite a bit as I saw so many different midwives and they all make their measurements differently. A friend was told by MW's that she was big for dates and had too much amniotic fluid and needed to be scanned, she scanned as a 7lb baby with normal amounts of amniotic fluid, her baby arrived 7lb 4oz. I think I'd trust the scan more than the FH measurement.

trishstar people do seem to like touching my bump - not sure I would want customers doing it though!!
Last morning at work, not that much is going on. Looking forward to a couple of days off.

I have a bottle of alcohol free rose in the fridge - fingers crossed it tastes a bit like the real thing. Im not much of a drinker anyway but i will miss a glass of wine tomorrow!
Went and see a friend yesterday with a 1 week old baby - sooooo gorgeous. Ladies that will be us in April Xmas Grin. My DH and I left giggling, not quite able to believe we will have one too very soon (thinking we might have a shock come April!!)
Merry Christmas to you all, hope you have a lovely time x

usernamegoeshere · 24/12/2012 12:10

I feel massive at the moment, though I think baby moved a bit as lying down my bump has changed slightly. Before it was noticeably more on my right side whereas now its all sort of spread in the middle. Which is more comfortable & I'm sleeping better!

Movement is mostly low down now too whereas before kicks were high on left, so my unexpert opinion is that she was lying across ways & is now breach. Have my 25 weeks appointment on Friday with GP so will see then!

Am planning to go to the Next sale Boxing day morning. Never been before, but have my eye on some maternity hoodies and sleepysuits which I couldn't really afford at full price, so fingers crossed!

Essex glad you had a lovely time! & Kellestar fingers crossed you get some sleep soon.

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas.

Missmuffet28 · 24/12/2012 17:46

Well it's Xmas eve! Hope all you April mums have a lovely day tomorrow!

EssexWelsh · 24/12/2012 18:04

Merry Christmas all! I'm on the sofa, sweets, celebrations and lindor chocs whilst watching Santa Claus the movie, blinking loving it!! Hope all goes well for you all!

alwayshopeful13 · 24/12/2012 18:04

Hello all, it's ages since I posted-so sorry. I've checked in occasionally but the thread moves so fast I've never quite managed to up. Will try harder in 2013.

Just thought I'd clock in and send festive glad tidings to everyone. Great to hear everyone is well. Especially thrilled to hear about mama and little Alexander- what a blessing and sending lots of love to you both for Alexander's first Christmas.

All fine in always land. Had our 20 week scan and baby looks grand-all present and correct, and v acrobatic baby! Doc was raving about how great it all looked and then as I was literally waking out the door casually mentioned 'a minor issue of the blood flow from you to the baby is lower than normal.' That was a bit of a shock after all the positive noises. Means I have to have a couple of extra scans to check growth and bp will be monitored (has been normal throughout). Doc was v relaxed about it and said he has rarely known it to lead to problems, but of course I've been stressing a bit. Trying to focusing the fact that baby was right size for dates and everything else looks as it should be-plus he/she (we've opted for a surprise, at least for as long ass willpower lasts thru the extra scans!) is kicking like crazy-keeping me awake loads! And I'm growing by the day. So here's hoping all stays fine.

Sorry for long update. I've not yet mastered the MN newsy brevity you all nailed ages ago!

Best to all for Christmas and 2013 x

23+3
