Welcome back leobear could it be baby is engaged and pushing against your colon? Could give the feeling of needing to go all the time.

Spotty hopefully the induction will go well. It's not a great start depriving you if sleep for days beforehand though! Good luck for the morning.

Clarella hope this bug is just a 24hr thing and you feel better in the morning.

I'm out shopping with MIL tomorrow for a cot. Then I need to put together a lust of everything baby and me need for the first week, and see if its all purchased, set up, and accessible. Oh, and pack hospital bag. I'm 37+5 now and would really rather like to have a baby now please :)

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2012 21:19

Welcome back leobear sounds like the beginning Smile

Oh I'm glad you love it honey I think I will too what colour did you get?

Barbeasty · 24/11/2012 21:26

Clarella I came on to see if anyone else had seen about dunking being scientifically better.

Good luck for tomorrow Spotty. Really glad your DD is doing well with her casts, and you should be up and about ok when she needs them replacing now.

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 21:33

Thanks leobear-. That sounds like the start of my labour...

spotty we got slate grey - goes with everything! Joined a baby wearing group on fb and after negotiating Newcastle city centre for the first time with a pram today I think I shall be baby wearing more often!

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 21:36

And am in a good mood as have packed DH off to bed early to sleep for a bit and have expressed 2 bottles (after having success with expressed bottles last night and lunchtime so ini go to bed in a couple of hours he's going to do 2 x changes and feeds so I can sleep all through :)

leobear · 24/11/2012 21:39

Really Honey - OMG. DD1 was 41 weeks, so I have been assuming I have ages to go...

Newcastle is my hometown, btw! Been in London 15 years though.

Spotty - hope you manage to get some rest tonight....if that's ever possible in hospital?!

leobear · 24/11/2012 21:40

Stacks - thanks, yes, I think she is pretty low down, it's a horrible feeling...it does feel like something is pressuring my colon, that's exactly it

2blessed · 24/11/2012 21:43

Evening ladies,
Ooooh honey a glass of vino Envy much
Not long to go now spotty hope you have a comfortable night.
I'm watching x factor and got up to have a little boogie when james arthur sang my fave marvin gaye song. Might have over exerted myself though cos lo has been elbow/punching me ever since.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2012 21:48

leobear could she be back to back? That puts more pressure down there

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 21:48

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you leobear! I was on hospital under observation and went to the loo 3 or 4 times then kept thinking I needed to go but couldn't. Was told by incompetent midwife I wasn't in labour so I put the period-type pains and tightening a down to BH. Kept thinking I just really needed to poo till I got another midwife to examine me and was 4cm and she said 'do you feel like you need to poo' and I said yes and she told me I was in labour. Stupid first midwife was lazy (others noted it too) and couldn't be arsed with dealing with a prem labour.

JoJoB77 · 24/11/2012 21:50

Welcome back leobear Smile

Good luck for tomorrow spotty, hope u get some rest tonight.

I've been outbid on a few close caboo carriers tonight Sad it appears they are in demand. I'm watching a few more that end tomorro so fingers crossed.

Oops i appear to have eaten a whole big bar of galaxy choc, without even realising..

leobear · 24/11/2012 21:57

Spotty - the midwife said on Thursday that she thought the baby might be "a bit back to back" Hmm but seemed very relaxed about it.

Honey - that's interesting, the incompetent midwives missed the fact that I was in labour last time around (with DD1), and when I rang the ward last night they just said "if you're not bleeding or losing fluid it's fine". I suppose it probably is, I just feel all nervous...

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 21:59

I bought one new Blush jojo as looked so good and dash's great aunt sent us the right amount pretty much. Ordered it yesterday and arrived today. Would have ebayed if we'd had more time but as dash arrived si early and has suddenly decided he won't be put down we were in a hurry for it! TBH totally worth the full price already! (After one evening of use!)

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 22:02

leobear it's my first baby and was planning CS so didn't really know what I was looking for bit when I stood up, felt a pop and started losing fluid quickly (I had been leaking slowly but they weren't worried before that) i told incompetent MW who said it was 'probably nothing'!

leobear · 24/11/2012 22:06

I thought I'd be way more relaxed with the second, and I have been up until now...approaching full term and just as terrified! Grin
That sounds familiar, Honey - with my DD1, I went to the labour ward leaking at 6am, only to be told it was "nothing" and sent home until I went back in agony 18 hours later, to be rushed onto an antibiotic drip as hindwaters had been broken all along, which apparently put baby at risk of infection. Sigh. Think that's why I'm nervous this time around, I know reassurance means nowt Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 24/11/2012 22:07

Try going on all fours and a ball, the worst position for you to sit is on the sofa as it only encourages baby to the back. Dd was back to back and I wanted to push the entire labour but obviously couldn't it was very annoying!

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 22:07

If in doubt at all get checked out. Worst that can happen is they send you home!

leobear · 24/11/2012 22:08

I'm too lazy Spotty!! MW claims she'll turn in labour [hmmm]

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 22:11

Awwww. Dash is curled up in caboo and just started sucking his thumb. Cutest thing ever.

Clarella · 24/11/2012 22:16

Hi leo! Yes ive had similar pains on and off for weeks - pootractions as named somewhere else on mn. Colon killing right now. keep an eye as it could be more - keep hydrated with something sugary and maybe nibble a rich tea save dunking to keep bland Wink barbeasty . This has been my day Grin i found mw at hospital reassuring if u need to.

Im also in the toon! But peak district lass.

Pidg totally sounds like normal motherly instinct/ lack of sleep -tigermom! You naturally put your all into other peoples kids but now you have your own you quite rightly are all about yours. Part if the guilt i wrestled with which led to extreme anxiety and general loopiness earlier in pregnancy was torally that - it was awful to hear of flip outs at school cos of the supply teacher with all the asd qualifucations but none of the sensitivity due to me needing to be selfish about protecting this squiggle due to a low but potential risk to baby of this buggery slapped cheek stuff. Wed got those kids to a particular point and didnt want to loose that.

And sewing stuff - know what u mean about sharp stuff but woebetide anyone who touches my stuff! Think i managed to arrise from my puke nest to shout an order about making sure he got both zips from the coffee table as he was clearing stuff for carpet fitters. And youbshould see me with a new full pack of plastiscine in the classroom. takes a while to be allowed out due to my colour mixing up issues ;) dont know if im helping ill shut up now! Im extremely bored in bed.

Yeay honey so glad - im eyeing slate grey too! Sounds fab. Is there potential for breast feeding? Mind you, sounds like bottles are working!

All the best spotty xx

Clarella · 24/11/2012 22:17

Demand pics honey!

brooke89 · 24/11/2012 22:31

Just checking in to say good luck for the morning spotty hope everyone else is ok and will catch up on thread tomorrow ??

MaMaPo · 24/11/2012 22:37

Best of luck for tomorrow spotty, it's terribly exciting! Welcome, leobear and gosh, feel better soon clarella, that sounds awful.

Bit exhausted today. We have some family from abroad staying this weekend - they were very good about asking whether this weekend would be OK given how far along I am (37 weeks today! bean is fully baked!) and I'm so happy to see them, but 8 hours on my feet wandering around central London has sure taken it out of me. My husband has taken them to the pub for another pint or two - no way I was going to go with them. I'm feeling so swollen at the moment. It started really suddenly one day (well, I assume it built up across the day) and only seems to be getting worse. Might email the doctor on Monday just to check that it's not a problem - I doubt it is, but worth checking.

weejo, I get weird pulling pains around my crotch - kind of feel more like my very upper inner leg. Odd. Baby is also head butting the cervix more, and sometimes when I'm not walking - wonder if it's engaging? We have a scan on Tuesday so i'm sure we'll find out more.

HoneyMum21 · 24/11/2012 22:38

Yes clarella can be used for bf but dash was less keen on that for now. Will persevere.

Bottles are working well. Still just using expressed milk for the moment though. --evil part of me would love to go to a group like spotty mentioned that don't want evil bottles there and bottle feed expressed milk - they wouldn't know how to react Grin am trying to startup and let DH sleep for a bit then I get to sleep rest of the night.

Went to town with FIL an his partner today. They bought Dash the cutest most ridiculously overpriced romper - a No Added Sugar one with black and white prison stripes with 'sleep thief' on the front. Funny, FIl
Buys stupid overpriced stuff and its sweet, MIL wastedmoney on overpriced raonbow muslins and got annoyed. Maybe it's just that she annoys me more in general! On that subject - AIBU - we told everyone months ago that after baby was here we wanted a couple of months where people didn't stay at our house while we got used to having baby in the house. Everyone was fine with this. Web MIL came up the day after dash arrived DH let her stay as obviously baby and me weren't in the house. FIL and partner and my bro and his wife have been up and stayed elsewhere as (FIL said 'who in there right mind would expect to stay when you've jus had a baby) MIL invited herself up next weekend who has meant DH has had to take day holiday from work as she didn't givve enough warning to take it as a day off. Then when DH reminded her there was a blanket ban on people staying she started crying and saying she couldn't cope of she was never allowed to stay with us again ad she couldn't afford to come and pay for B and B ( she has just got a new very well paid job and manages to afford to go out forward 2-3 times a week) and we would have to pay for her accomodation. Grr

Stacks · 24/11/2012 22:58

Oh Honey families are so awkward. She is being unreasonable and needy, but I don't know what to suggest! Giving in to that behaviour might just encourage it, so I'd probably get DH to have a talk with her. There's always something behind this sort of thing I find, but it's not really your job to be dealing with it! I hope you'd DH has a good relationship with her and can get it sorted.
