Thought we should have a shiny new thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PurplePidjin · 23/11/2012 20:20

Pic on profile :)

MyDaydream · 23/11/2012 20:21

pidj it's the same round here, although my MW told me they're under massive pressure to push breastfeeding as she apologetically told me about the benefits for the seven hundredth time just to get the box ticked.

Alison I'll be doing an iPad check before we leave for the hospital and confiscating it if it's found. Like hell am I letting DP play games and ignore me! I'm buying puzzle books to keep us entertained.

ISpyPlumPie · 23/11/2012 20:21

Just checking in to the new thread. Not Envy at all of anyone who already has a baby to cuddle - honest. Hope this is the thread where Dash and Rafa get lots of company.

HoneyMum21 · 23/11/2012 20:23

Hugs clarella it's all going to be worth it.

I took the plunge and ordered a close caboo carrier as it requires less understanding to tie than others! Hoping it will arrive tomorrow as Dash is being a bugger who refuses to be put down and feeds every hour and a half-2 hours.

MyDaydream · 23/11/2012 20:25

Clarella I think you deserve a spot on the sobbing sofa, I can't even imagine how your coping having such a chaotic house for so long. Hope you feel better soon, but your probably doing a lot better than I would.
Pidj what a little cutie!

HoneyMum21 · 23/11/2012 20:25

Awww, pidj chick is gorgeous!

Clarella · 23/11/2012 20:43

Thanks guys feel better now - I feel bad as dh is being so amazing and now getting chocolate for me. Its helping a lot!

Honey I'm thinking of sneaking a close caboo in when dh not looking. Love the video on line :) I think you can bf in it too? I have a rather naughty plan to train dh to wear the wrap in the house initially (he's already quite keen) then introduce a caboo for quick release baby wearing! (Plus back ups when other in wash) I got a second hand pram for peanuts so why not!

Off to sneak a peek at pidgchick...

ellliebelle · 23/11/2012 20:46

clarella really hope you are feeling better soon i have to say im feeling very sorry for myself this evening i can barely move if it requires any muscles in my pelvic area working.

pidj he is so squishy i want mine now :)

I got a moby style wrap on ebay last week (sa be baby) advertised as red but more cerise pink :( was getting it ready to resell on ebay today and dd2 asked me to carry her so gave it a go and was pretty amazed that a stretchy still held her weight :) she is 3 was lovely to wear her again although not for long as she is heavy

Clarella · 23/11/2012 20:46

Aww what an adorable picture with daddy! That is soooo cute!

FriendofDorothy · 23/11/2012 20:56

Has anyone found that their baby movements have slowed down somewhat. Since yesterday he seems much less active which is worrying me. Not sure whether I should call the ward for advice.

ellliebelle · 23/11/2012 21:00

Does anyone elses bump make an odd 'popping' noise every now and then? Mine atarted a few weeks ago sounds almost like if you click your finger nails together very odd not sure what it is at all....

utopian99 · 23/11/2012 21:00

Good luck for Sunday spotty, and for what sounds like another imminent arrival clarella!

pidj I've just shown your pic to Dh, who promptly turned into a soppy mess. Grin Crumb isn't due for three weeks.. Envy

Cookiesandcoffee · 23/11/2012 21:04

That's adorable pidj I am melting. He's soo tiny. Absolutely adorable, not Envy in the slightest.
friend I think mine have a little but they did with DD, I think it's normal nearer the end, but if you're worried do ring up, for reassurance if nothing else.
clarella I don't know how you're coping, I would be a physical mess with all you've been through. I not know how you're holding t all together.
nutella I've already scoffed some Lindt chocolates, a mince pie, and two cups of tea..
Ice cream sounds amazing my Tesco has a load of broken freezers ATM so they don't have any of the good brands of ice cream. Envy

Clarella · 23/11/2012 21:04

Oh sorry to hear that ellie - hugs for you. Its all getting near I guess. That is pretty amazing about the moby - did you moby her when she was little?

All better now, a silly sob really. I think I also feel a bit oddly emotional about going to last aquanatal and having a little swim this morn. Swimming is such a huge lovely thing I do and it occurred to me that lochia, leaking cracked boobs and oh yes a very dependant lo will put a halt to that for good while - not a bad thing really but just suddenly occurred to me. Teacher was making jokes about having towels ready and even the life guard wished me luck on Monday - which is due date but then it's not really!?! And I'm Confused about whether to go for a swim if sweep doesn't work lol! Will swap swim for hiking the moor with baby in sling! Oooo this due date thing is confusing!

utopian99 · 23/11/2012 21:05

Dorothy, crumb has slowed down too,.was worrying last night, but he still seems perky ish (enough movement to count, though less than before).

Clarella · 23/11/2012 21:08

Yes mine pops - there was a thread on mn a while back about it - ca.nt remember wot it was tho...

Friend - mine are hugely less - I have to lie down and concentrate every now and then. Mw said 10 per day and I find if I concentrate from am to pm I do count more but it seems less.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/11/2012 21:37

I've got the Close Caboo carrier in excited to use it!

This baby goes crazy on the monitor literally goes from LOA to ROA to get away from it, my stomach is so, so sore from all the traces it was painful enough before I came in!

Wow Clarella Monday is your due date how exciting!

pidj I'm on app so can't see your pic but am looking forward to it Smile

Mummycox · 23/11/2012 21:41

ellie it was me... Bump still pops occasionally, allegedly tendons moving about and perfectly normal although somewhat disturbing. Sounds a bit like my ankles cracking first thing, just a lot quieter.

May have overdone hot water in bath. Pink legs. Looking forward to cooler baths with a little person soon.

[off to see pidjchick]

PurplePidjin · 23/11/2012 21:42

Clarella, my nips aren't cracked or bleeding because I'm swimming in Lansinoh! It's one of the first things the mw's have asked about :)

Dp's running club have had a spate of babies (6, 4dads 2 mums) so they're all going to get carriers and walk together at the sunday morning meet up. I've asked to hire the library Ergo for him, and Rafa will save up for something of his own from present money. I love my stretchy, got lots of pisitive comments using it on the ward. They make you put the baby in a wheeled crib to go to the loo/make a cuppa etc but it seems a sling is the exception. Fab when he cried if put down!

Clarella · 23/11/2012 21:51

Goodness spotty that's an impressive spinning baby! Hope you're ok and not too fed up.

Realised how totally like a first time mum that swimming post (not to mention self indulgent wallowing !) is but it's more that the count down to edd isn't like usual count downs eg wedding etc iykwim?! As it's really.not going to happen on that day but when people say 'when's your due date' and you answer they all seem to assume that is the actual day... (I know too many childless people!!)

Well, www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com will come in handy I guess !

(Am having chocolate induced hour of revelations. Plus actually felt like a hand was trying to poke out before Confused)

Clarella · 23/11/2012 21:55

Oooh maybe I should put moby in hospital bag pidg?!

I've started in the lanosstuff already as I am sort of semi expressing bits of colostrum, it's quite lovely stuff! Lanostuff I mean.

PurplePidjin · 23/11/2012 22:20

If you're confident both using it and answering questions, put it in. But people will comment (positively ime)

HoneyMum21 · 23/11/2012 22:22

Oooh, spotty is the close caboo as easy to put on as it looks? I tried a moby type one and couldn't get the hang of it. Keith thinking dash was going to fall out!

HoneyMum21 · 23/11/2012 22:28

Dash has had his first bottle of expressed milk tonight (since coming home- he had bottles when I wasn't there on scbu) DH loved being able to feed him and once we know he's ok with them I might be able to sleep for longer than 90 mins at a time

Clarella · 23/11/2012 22:29

Oh thats good honey! A friend raved about the caboo with her lo btw
