congrats 10! aw that's lovely. so a good scan in general tho you have to go back? How's the sickness been?

beaut it's horrid isn't it but yay for 18 weeks! I never had this problem with DS... or ever actually. I hate taking lactulose but the pain was too much and am much better now so it is worth it when you know it is pg and eating better just won't help.

I look weird atm too with a big butt and belly. Quite fat actually, but I think it is just how it looks

elly is nice that you don't do loads of pressies.

Jeeez my house is freezing.

lollypopsicle · 13/12/2012 17:11

Another fat arse developing here too, beaut. I'm not coping well with the weight gain Hmm. I was the same last time, it just really gets me down when I see thunder thighs developing. Still, it's a means to an end.

On a positive note, saw mw today. She is really lovely. Asked me about movement and I said I was worried that I don't feel much so she used the Doppler and found the heartbeat. I was over the moon Smile. Although it wasn't mentioned in my scan notes she suspects I have an anterior placenta. Before she used the Doppler, I said i was worried she wouldn't find a heartbeat and she said if that happened she'd send me for a scan ASAP! She also told me that I could ring to arrange an appointment to listen to the heartbeat if ever I felt worried about movement. She wrote that in my notes too. It has made me feel loads better. Having had this experience today, scooby I reckon your mw sounds like a bit of a cow bag! Maybe see if you can change?

lollypopsicle · 13/12/2012 17:12

Oh and congrats on the boy 10 Grin

Hi All
19 + 6. Scan tomorrow. Re the bloating I have had days of terrible bloating and then I shrink right back. As this is my third pregnancy my tummy inflates like a balloon. My PSD (yuk pelvis problem) is much worse when I am really bloated. Go figure! I am 'normal' at the moment and fit back in my 'fat days' (not maternity) trousers but can look months more pregnant when bloated. My midwife says things are shifting to make room and that can cause bloating too. Hope that helps anyone feel they are not alone. I have really limited movement as well which I am hoping means its a quiet one which would be welcome after my two very energetic little men. Excited about scan but very nervous as well. Good luck with upcoming scans.

Wirrawoo · 13/12/2012 18:13

Congrats 10!!! Xmas Grin big congratulatory hugs for you!

Thanks for all the reassurance re bloating etc. is smaller today, probs be bigger tonight. It's all goin' on down there! Just bought a bigger bra and a coffee filter thing for my partner (just the coffee thing not the bra!) to add to the Christmas pressie stash. Blimey it's chilly outside!

Bunnychan · 13/12/2012 18:18

Hi ladies, I had my mw appointment today and am relieved that all my blood tests came back fine. She did play the hb which she found straight away- it was lovely to hear it and know that I had been listening to the right thing on my Doppler lol. I've felt a few tickles as well lately which is exciting. I was really embarrassed tho; I couldn't pee!!! So no sample taken :-/ Hope your all well! X

Ooh a blue one 10 congrats!!

Ladies with constipation, mine has completely gone now and it was terrible at one stage, so hang in there, you should be about to turn a corner! Just in time for all the lovely xmas food without having to worry about bunging up!

Had a Level 2 ultrasound yesterday which took ages but was lovely to see the baby in such detail! Loads of 3d shots and she's a very pretty little thing - I thought I was excited to meet her before but after seeing her face I literally feel like I'm about to pop with love Grin

20 weeks today!

beaver33 · 13/12/2012 21:17

10 and berri such lovely news re your respective bubs. Congrats on the boy 10, and berri I loved the image of you smouldering at your little one's face. How perfect.

scooby I also have low blood pressure - was 90/50 at my 17 week mw appointment Shock. Midwife kept asking if kept passing out, but I haven't at all - in fact, don't think I've fainted in my life. Haven't even felt dizzy.

I'm assuming it's a good thing - better than high blood pressure, anyway.

Santa hope the bleeding calms down. There are worse things that holing yourself up on the sofa on a cold day....hope you've got plenty of box sets...!

I have to wait until 22 weeks for my next scan, which feels like an AGE. Actually it's only until 7 January so it'll fly by.

Congrats 10 finding out your having a boy!

My first was a boy, he was a strong one indeed! And caused a lot of trouble lol..
So far, this baby isn't as strong and has caused less problems. By that I mean no hospital pre natal inpatient stays. Bit of course that doesn't stop me worrying until I see and hear heartbeat at the 20 week scan.
Thins are still challenging though, and I knew this would be the case, trying to cope with multiple symptoms from my health problems alongside pregnancy symptoms.
Ok first time I'm admitting this, sorry if too much info. I haven't actually said this to the doctor. But they want me to have a catheter that stays in the rest of my pregnancy, but this means no sex. I know not the end of the world, but worries how my partner will react without any until a few months after baby is born.
I can't use self catheters, I can't do it myself. In the long term they suggested a suprapubic (a hole in belly to wee) so can have sex then.

Boodstress, good luck with your scan tomorrow.

Reenypip · 13/12/2012 21:27

Hiya 10, my blood pressure is usually normal and perfect, even when I've been quite ill. And when it alters, usually means something is very not right and I can tell because I feel it too.
I've had more low blood pressure since becoming increasingly ill. I also spend a lot of time lying down, which doesn't help either, alongside being dehydrated.
It was low at one of my pregnancy checks. I said I was extremely dizzy (I use a wheelchair) but despite still sitting down felt like going to collapse and fall. It was 89/54.they didn't seem concerned at all.

cuppateaandagingersnap · 13/12/2012 22:02

Congratulations on the lovely scans people Smile

I've found fybogel really good for - ahem- keeping me regular, much less windy than lactulose and you can buy it at tescos.

Reeny that sounds really tough, how are you managing to wee at the moment? I'm sure your DP will understand though, needs must after all. You could ask about a flip/flow catheter which doesn't have to be connected to a bag all the time, It could be held or tucked out of the way if you or DP want to be intimate. Otherwise even normal catheters with bags can be clamped off for a while for sex or a very long tube used so the bag is out of sight. Lots of people with long term urethral catheters manage an active sex life, don't know about your background medical condition but I bet if you asked the continence nurse she'd be able to give you lots of info. Try this Site for info, xx

Reenypip · 13/12/2012 22:16

Hiya cuppatea,
To be honest even though I've had the problem a few years, I've never actually asked about sex with a urethral catheter and assumed couldn't, as tube was in bladder, I thought it would be too painful and increase infection and may come out.
I can wee a little but my bladder doesn't empty full and therefore increases uti infections and longer term problems. I also have bowel trouble, can't go, because of my spinal cord injury.
So if ever need advice on constipation, I've become fairly knowledgable what to try.

Reenypip · 13/12/2012 22:17

....yeh I've used the flip flow before to try keep what minimum strength there is left.

cuppateaandagingersnap · 13/12/2012 23:02

Sounds like you've really been through the mill Reeny you sound like a really strong, courageous lady to be getting on with life and having a baby with what's happened to you. Xx

SeaSalt1 · 14/12/2012 00:59

Wow, a quick hooray for cuppatea's amazing medical knowledge - nurse or doctor by any chance? Seriously impressed.

Reeny, that sounds very hard for you, but as Cuppatea says, you must be an amazing and extremely strong person - your little one is very lucky!

So, I had a 16 week scan yesterday (we're spoiled here in Singapore) and... IT'S A BOY!!!! So am joining you 10! We are so happy - I had a feeling it might be a boy but could have been totally wrong of course. Hooray hooray! Such a happy day Xmas Smile
