New thread! I've lost my lovely spreadsheet so if someone can add in the stats and update, that would be wonderful; I'm sure someone else had a spreadsheet that was as anally organised as me

Hi everyone

Congratulations Tiny! Megan is a lovely name, in fact it's on our list Smile

Welcome Milk

I remember the triplet woman, she only posted a couple of times then came back to say she had had her babies. I am Shock she was a troll. Presumably it came out on another thread?

Bunty I commented on your ebay thread

I am turning into such an old lady these days. I walk at a snail's pace and yesterday I bought one of those daily pill reminder pots, because I keep forgetting whether I have taken all of my iron tablets.

Bernie my SIL has GD. She is doing fine. She had to go on tablets as it couldn't be controlled by diet, and she has to be induced at 39 weeks. It sounds like a pain in the arse, but not actually dangerous for you or the baby so long as it is monitored and controlled.

I'm also having my blood pressure monitored, due to the one really high reading I got a few weeks ago. I am convinced it was because I was running late for the appointment but it never hurts to be careful. It is always towards the higher end of normal anyway. Lora I am going to tell DP that housework will definitely raise my BP more and he has to do it all from now on Grin

Sorry to hear about your problems Pip. Still it is much better to catch these things early so that you can be properly monitored.

Bealos I'm also planning a homebirth but I will pack a hospital bag just in case, I think something like 40% of homebirths end up transferring to hospital (or maybe that was just the figure for first-timers?). And even if not it means I have everything I need for the birth together in one place.

BuntyCollocks · 29/11/2012 12:52

Thanks, Squealy, Pascha and MrsBugsy

I think as long as I get my refund, I'll go for a new lin and leo loopy lou if I can find one. It might not have the compartments of the pacapod, but I am now really wary of buying on ebay. This is the second thing I've bought in the last couple of weeks that hasn't been as described. Also bought a travel hairdryer that was advertised as brand new, unopened in box.

It was covered in sticky shit, and stank of cigarette smoke, in a ripped box.

Am still shocked about the troll. Am too trusting and will be much more wary now. Good detective work Pascha.

I'm finding I'm eating really strange stuff now I'm on maternity leave. Just had tinned Heinz tomato soup, broad beans and Philadelphia light for lunch and very tasty it was too!!!

It's our wedding anniversary today so DH and I are going to a posh restaurant in London tonight. Not sure where yet as it's a surprise so been told to dress up. I am really looking forward to it as not had any 'us' time for ages and I can have a lie in tomorrow. Am struggling with wardrobe at moment though as my feet and calves have swollen so am living in a pair of fake Ugg boots and can't fit into any of my old shoes or gorgeous knee high boots, so just hope no-one looks at my feet!

BuntyCollocks · 29/11/2012 14:13

Happy anniversary, complicated! How many years?

I'm in Uggs today, even though they're banned at work. Have ballet flats in my bag if anyone says anything, but I think people are too scared of the limping blimp.

I always feel kind of Sad for the trolls.....(unless they are the mean spirited type themselves as some clearly are). It is no skin of my nose to reply to a post, even if it is imaginary, but I guess they must be really lonely and crave attention if they are driven to posting imaginary nonsense on an internet forum. Suppose I just hope I never feel that way.....

Complicated that sounds nice, enjoy your dinner this evening! It is so hard to make time to spend "quality" time together as a couple with everything else going on, work, caring for DCs, etc. I am sure you can rock the Uggs and dress look if necessary Smile.

Birdies · 29/11/2012 14:40

Have a lovely evening complicated. Make sure you tell us where you went tomorrow!

bunty that sounds like a good plan.

squealy I know what you mean, I kind of feel sorry for her too now.

Was also just reading the thread pascha linked to and apparently there are ones who lied about their baby dying etc and that's really awful - as people who actually have lost a baby then offer their support. They must be very needy but still, I can't get my head around someone doing that.

godzookey · 29/11/2012 16:51

OMG,

This is probably tmi but am a little bit in shock - my left boob has started leaking!!!!

I don't know why but already feeling a little paranoid that the baby is going to be early ( am currently 33 weeks) and wondering if this is a sign??!!

On a different note, complicated -hope you have a lovely romantic dinner with your hubby. It's Ugg boots all the way for me too - how did Victoria Beckham wear those sky scrapers when she went to Will's and Kate's wedding??

godzookey · 29/11/2012 16:53

Squealy -kinda agree but does freak me out that there are some really weird attention seeking fantasists that would make up such strange sh*t...

AppleCrumples · 29/11/2012 17:02

godz in all my pgs my boobs have leaked from about this point and as I've mentioned before all 3 were late so doubt that's a sign! However have heard that stimulating them with a breast pump may help to get things started! am gen desperate for baby to arrive by 38 weeks and have tried everything

djvesi · 29/11/2012 18:23

You wouldn't believe it! DH is vacuuming again, whilst waiting for his risotto to cook, after carrying all the food shopping in, and shovelling all the snow from our front path (snow started yesterday here in Helsinki). Meanwhile I'm sat at the kitchen table being served, by DH, some warm bread fresh from oven with lovely Swedish cheese. Must say feeling a wee bit indulgent Grin

bealos · 29/11/2012 18:45

godz me too! From about 30 weeks... found it quite exciting as it's a sign that the baby is nearly here...

dieciocho · 29/11/2012 20:16

My boobs started leaking at about 24 weeks, but only at night.
I've got Type 1 diabetes and have heard that my sort make A LOT of milk, so maybe that's why.
It can get pretty messy!

newbie6 · 29/11/2012 20:55

I'm type 1 too and 32 weeks but no leaking as yet! My boobs haven't really got bigger either.....maybe I need to wait a bit! X

bealos · 29/11/2012 21:18

newbie6 you lucky thing! My nipples are literally the size of raspberries. I've gone from a D cup to a FF (and bra feels tight). Oh woe!

bealos · 29/11/2012 21:20

Can I have a moan?

I've been procrastinating all day (hence large amount of Mumsnet posts!), failing attempting to write a presentation for a conference I'm talking at tomorrow. Earlier attempts at writing it were scuppered due to childcare and work that had to happen.

I know I've got to do it but my head just won't get in gear. I can't cancel, that would just be lame, but I just can't seem to engage brain to make it work... which probably means I'll end up here at 1am still doing it, which isn't great. Agggh.

pmgkt · 29/11/2012 21:40

I finished work today! Yipee.

bealos · 29/11/2012 22:03

Jealous!

happyhow · 29/11/2012 22:06

Well I've just done my final parents' evening for this year!! Have to say, all the parents were very good about me going early and their girls not really having a teacher for 2 weeks. Not much I can do about it anyway. It's already proving surprisingly easy to switch off....Wink

Had a bit of a scare with the house yesterday. The sparky made a hole in the bathroom ceiling to find a suspicious looking white material. Hubby could barely talk about it last night as it was suspected that it could be asbestos which would put us weeks behind schedule and prevent us from moving in as well as being mega expensive to get it removed... But... The asbestos results came back negative so it's all systems go again!! Have to be out the flat by Sunday though and there's no way we can move into the house yet so we'll be staying with the in laws. Hopefully it will only be for a week or so but now that I'm off work, I'm trying to find as many things as possible to keep me out their house!

Hope you had a nice dinner complicated!

pmgkt · 29/11/2012 22:14

Bealos if it helps I am 36 weeks tomorrow as my date was moved to December so its not too early, plus its a manual job and I just can't bend over now so not got any option. I had been hoping to work for a few more weeks as self employed but never mind.

Birdies · 29/11/2012 23:10

bealos hope you're cracking on with your presentation! Otherwise just wing it tomorrow, no one will notice Grin

bealos · 29/11/2012 23:36

I am, I am... too much content now. Reducing it down. It's only a 15 minute talk. I probably could wing it, but, gah, hate to do a talk rubbishly.

Lora1982 · 30/11/2012 09:22

They have put me on iron tablets :'( but on a plus note it might mean i have more energy. My leave dates been moved to the 18th woooo only 11 work days left for me woooo

Complicated24 · 30/11/2012 13:11

Thanks for all the lovely anniversary messages. It was our four year anniversary and DH booked a table at Oxo Tower. We went there very on in our relationship so has special memories for both of us. It was a gorgeous clear evening and views across London are amazing, food absolutely gorgeous so a huge treat. I ended up travelling into London in my Ugg boots, then changing into shoes just before going into restaurant!!!

It was a lovely end to a rubbish day. I ended up ringing hospital yesterday afternoon as am not noticing nearly so much movement now. I have an anterior placenta and think the baby may now be in birthing position, so I suppose the kicks would be towards my back which means I'm not feeling them. Even after an absolutely gorgeous dinner last night I felt very little movement (and baby normally goes mental after dinner). I am feeling movement but nothing like as much as I was before. Hospital told me not to worry as long as I feel 10 movements in a day, which I am, but it used to be pretty much constant. Anyone else the same? I am now 34 + 5. I'm not having leaky boobs yet though.

Also washing machine broke with clothes inside. I got out instruction manual and was trying to fix it, but it would have meant lying on kitchen floor to drain water and empty gunk out from the little drawer at bottom and just can't get into that position anymore. So DH is going to try and fix tonight.

Bealos loads of luck with presentation. Enjoy maternity leave pmgkt.

BuntyCollocks · 30/11/2012 13:30

Complicatede glad you had a lovely dinner. I am also the same, with both the anterior placenta, and not feeling quite as much movement. I definitely keep a very close eye on movement, so if there is a change, I am on the phone right away. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Think your hospital's advise is guff, though. 10 movements a day from a previously very active baby I would be getting checked out - don't let them fob you off. Just go up there and ask to be monitored. It is probably just that baby is in a different position; remember I ended up at hospital because I wasn't feeling much movement, and my little lady had tucked herself right in behind the placenta? But I was glad I went for the peace of mind.

Today, mine is a bit quieter, but I'm still having plenty of movement. If it changes, I would be on the phone again; I don't care about bothering anyone when it comes to the health of this baby!

I never got leaky boobs, not everyone does. [bwink]

bealos much luck with the presentation, and pmgkt enjoy maternity! 2 weeks to go, 2 weeks to go ... hurry up, 14th!

In other news, check out red direct! 40% off EVERYTHING. A lovely lady let me know on my ebay thread. I have just ordered my beautiful NEW replacement changing bag for less than I paid for that second hand one (which, thankfully, the seller is now refunding - very happy she is being reasonable about it!).
