New thread! I've lost my lovely spreadsheet so if someone can add in the stats and update, that would be wonderful; I'm sure someone else had a spreadsheet that was as anally organised as me

Congratulations Tiny! What a shock that must have been. Poor you needing forceps though, that's really bad luck. I hope you heal up well and that Megan is happy and strong.

Wow Tiny congrulations, so pleased to hear that you and Megan are both doing well. It must be tough going to get your head around it all but sounds like you are doing a stellar job. Sorry to hear the birth was difficult.

Birdies you must be over the moon, so happy to see that everything is fine and peace of mind is so worth the money.

Pascha you almost made me spit my tea out! Now wondering whether to look or not to look at mine......I am going with not to at this stage, afraid of what I might find Grin

I am so jealous about those starting maternity leave soon.....11 January feels like a long way away and lots of you will have your babies by then Envy

Tugstonia · 28/11/2012 11:59

Congratulations tiny!! I hope you're recovering well from the birth and that little Megan is doing well too and you can take her home soon. X

Complicated24 · 28/11/2012 12:05

Tiny huge congratulations and welcome to Megan. Love the name. Megan is a really good size for 33 weeks. Had you started your maternity leave already and got anything sorted? I am on my first week of maternity leave and only just beginning to get organised so it would have been a huge shock if I'd gone into labour at weekend. My baby is little and keep on being told there is a possibility it could be delivered early, so great to hear that you and Megan are doing well even though it was clearly a tough labour and emotionally a big deal to get your head around. Are you able to breastfeed (if that is what you want to do)?

Pascha that really made me laugh. I daren't even look down there now. I am dreading getting piles as have never had them but always thought they sounded horrendous. All the things they don't tell you about pregnancy beforehand!

Birdies have you stopped grinning yet?! Am so thrilled for you.

Had nursery furniture delivered today. It is massive. Much bigger than it looked in showroom. We have gone for normal size wardrobe, chest of drawers and bookcase as thought it would last longer, but I now know that there is a reason why people get baby furniture. Our spare room looks tiny now! Had first NCT class last night. It was fun, but didn't finish til 2145 which is too late for me.

MamaMary · 28/11/2012 13:44

Wow, Tiny, a tiny surprise! Congratulations! Megan is a lovely name. Well done on the birth and make sure you take the opportunity to catch up on sleep before bringing her home. :)

Hard to believe our first baby is here!

MamaMary · 28/11/2012 13:46

At my consultant appt today, BP is creeping up a bit. Not on medication or anything yet, but looks like pre-eclampsia is a strong possibility, like last time. I'm 32 weeks. Good to know in advance this time so I can be extra alert to symptoms.

pmgkt · 28/11/2012 13:51

Didn't we have a set of twins a few weeks back? So 3rd baby? I haven't got the old threads but sure it was this group.

BuntyCollocks · 28/11/2012 13:55

Actually, I think it was a set of triplets!

OP posts:
BuntyCollocks · 28/11/2012 13:57

mama if it helps at all, I think blood pressure is naturally a bit higher toward the end of pregnancy, but obviously if there is concern there, or it is more than a 'bit' higher, than definitely best to keep an eye, especially given your history.

OP posts:
djvesi · 28/11/2012 14:00

MamaMary we're in the same boat. I'm 32 weeks along as well and pre-eclampsia/HELLP last time at 34 weeks. Monitoring BP daily at home. They say that BP is a little higher in the docs office, can you rent a monitor to keep at home for a few weeks where you are? I also have some "piss sticks" at home to monitor pH, leucocytes, ketones etc, also a key indicator, and weekly blood tests for liver enzymes start next week.

Had a stress episode last weekend when DH had his typical Saturday cleaning frenzy, really frenzy, there is no rationalizing with the guy when he MUST vacuum our bedroom half an hour before the babysitter arrives instead of getting dressed to go out on our date. (she wasn't even going to enter our bedroom)

I know, crazy right, who complains about a DH that cleans??? But seriously, it's pathological at times, and manic. Anyway, BP went up to 132/101, for about 20 mins, cue uncontrollable crying and stress for an hour or so. Thankfully the reading on the BP monitor snapped him out of it. BP seemed to return to normal after a few hours though and since been OK. Hopefully can now keep everything low key and relaxed for a few more weeks at least.

ChutesTooNarrow · 28/11/2012 14:05

congratulations tiny and welcome to the world Megan Smile

Birdies · 28/11/2012 14:24

allchik hope you start feeling better soon.

mummy I agree with bunty, although having said that I'm getting pressure in my bottom which I only remember getting just before labour last time. Although as its on and off I don't think that's the same thing. It's usually only when it doesn't ease up that it may mean things are starting.

Ah thanks complicated :) Well I was so excited about everything again last night that I couldn't sleep! And I'm eating lots again and went shopping this morning and bought a little going home outfit for babba. I'm pleased that both of us had good news in the end!

dj you don't live up north do you? If so you can send him hear as I haven't vacuumed in weeks! Sounds like he's got the message though and hopefully he'll be a bit less manic now.

mama that's really good that its been spotted early (if it does turn out to be pe)

I am eating a chocolate orange. A whole one. Somebody stop me....

djvesi · 28/11/2012 15:18

sorry Birdies think I'm a bit further north than you at the mo and DH is under strict instruction not to be further away than a 30 min car ride for the foreseeable future. Smile He really is a wonderful DH, has overall been amazingly supportive, I feel bad venting about his little quirks, but for want of sharing important info..... Wink

You know you should really enjoy that choc whilst you can! I recall that choc caused colic in DS, so will savour it whilst I can before BF kicks in.

AppleCrumples · 28/11/2012 15:46

Whoever mentioned the triplets I think that turned out to be a troll so tiny you have the first baby!

Won't be long now before lots of babies start arriving exciting times ahead!

MamaMary · 28/11/2012 16:01

Thanks, djvesi, bunty and birdies. My BP reading was 138/82. I am being seen more often this time (will be seen in two weeks' time and then the week after that) but maybe I should borrow my mum's BP monitor and use it at home. Bizarrely, her BP went up in sympathy with mine last time and she forked out on a monitor. My concern would be that using it at home would just make me more anxious, as I felt this is what happened last time (last time my BP didn't go down immediately after birth so I got slightly obsessed with self-monitoring).

Funny story about your DH djvesi! Great that he loves cleaning. My next door neighbour is always cleaning. I constantly hear the hoover. It makes me feel a bit guilty, but then she told me she has OCD so I felt a bit better I have an excuse not to clean as often as her

Birides none of us are going to stop your enjoyment of your chocolate orange! :)

Pascha · 28/11/2012 16:01

TinyMegan is deffo first threadbaby.

Triplet woman is a mad serial troll with form for similar. She was banned before she really got going luckily.

BuntyCollocks · 28/11/2012 16:07
