It is indeed its not a very exciting thing though, its the name of a mattress! It just popped in my head when I was trying think of an MN name.

Em2010 · 17/11/2012 15:33

Aah I see!! We have an ikea mattress too! It's called something like sultan Haribo- actually that would make an ace mn nickname thinking about it!

We have a John Lewis cotbed and mattress, they are fine, no complaints really. It's drop side but we've never dropped it! Nice to have the option I guess. Three mattress heights- quite useful! I'm planning on getting a second cot for the little one as I don't want to turf ds out of his bed and we can't fit a kids bed and cotbed in the same room anyway...

Very fed up today. Think a fresh batch of hormones has just arrived.. Bah grumble.... Spent the morning fumbling around in the loft trying to fix a broken aerial. Dh is claiming he's too 'exhausted' to help!! lanny please can we swap??!

JoJoBella84 · 17/11/2012 15:41

Gah, 5am alarm following a broken nights sleep makes for a very tired and grumpy JoJo.
Paediatrics course went really well but am so tired from the travelling and the best of the children's hospital! Taking myself off for a nap after my McDonald's and will catch up this evening!

eigmum · 17/11/2012 17:18

so hard to keep up as had a tough day at work.

very jealous of tramp and the premiere.

My MIL is visiting from Switzerland, it took her 10 mins to wind me up (she is a pro) so I have escaped to the bedroom to read all your news which has cheered me up!! the latest is my 2 year old has a problem with his diction (he is 2 for god's sake) on the basis that I speak too fast ... her only evidence for this "issue" is she cant understand him! of course "that would be ok if you were teaching him two or three languages but he only has one" oh well feel better for getting that off my chest. Good news is she is only staying tonight then she is off to house sit in St John's wood which is nicely far away from wimbledon!

Oodthunkit · 17/11/2012 17:41

manda I've either Pmed you loads or not at all as it kept freezing!

theTramp · 17/11/2012 18:10

eig - as long as she loves your little one suck it in.. but I would be just as annoyed.

Stormy - oh how rotten. I hate not being able to sleep. Hope you got a snooze this afternoon.

JoJo - and you also.

MrM and I went for a stroll earlier - I would like to say walk but I am moving so slowly compared to usual me that I don't think it counts as walking - a couple of miles along road to local saturday market. We stopped off for a burger, wandered around a bit then wandered even more slowly back because by this point my pelvis was starting to hurt a wee bit. Moral of story is - no more walking without stupidly comfy walking boots. Anyway, we have rewarded ourselves for our efforts with home made and very delicious it is too chocolate cake, lashings of cream and a cup of tea. Shortly MrM will pop to sainsburys for sausage casserole ingredients. We'll get all of them in a big pot, pop the pot in the oven to bubble away for a few hours, watch a film and then stop to eat before watching another film snuggled up on the sofa. Sounds fab doesn't it.

As my dropside goes right under cot this was extremely useful once dd was older the other 2 used to drop the side down to let her out of her cot when she woke up, they thought they were brilliant. Also when we were waiting for her big girl bed to arrive we left it with side down and it was a temporary big girl bed!

I hadn't had a proper look at my boots changing bag so thought I would have a play this morning, it had its changing mat in and then I put a whole packet of newborn nappies in, there was still loads of room left and considering it will never have a whole packet of nappies in it, I think it will do the job for me.

eigmum · 17/11/2012 23:03

Thanks tramp, she does so I just have to take a deep breath and thank my lucky stars she lives a plane ride away! I find if I go donsomething else for a bit it helps. Only thing I can control is my own reaction so try and let it brush over me!

I had this great change bag for ds1 but can't find it either, will keep looking. My memory is lots of pockets and compartments is good. I carry very little around myself but it's amazing how much easier it is with a little one if you have all the extras. In the early days when you have finally made it out of the house it's a shame to have to go back as no change of clothes or no nappy or no milk etc etc...

mandasand · 17/11/2012 23:18

Hello everyone! Soooo much to catch up with since yesterday morning!

We've got our friends and their two kids down this weekend. Really lovely, and they've brought lots of baby things too Smile We're practising our parenting skills with the older, more boisterous one. I had to do to bed for a couple of hours this afternoon though. Felt so antisocial but much better after. Everyone looking after me loads. Had a bit of a celebration tonight with birthday tea and cake for DH. I cooked boeuf bourguignon tho I rarely cook meat - I am a good wife. He was so excited, bless him!

Sheldon hope you had fun in Oxford! Pity about the Asos dress...mine is the same - in that the seam is a bit on my boobs, but with the polka dots and a spangly belt I persuade myself no-one notices! The dress itself if so comfy I don't care.

October any joy yet on finding the mat. stuff?

Dame hope you're able to relax this weekend. Sounds like you need some down-time.

Stormy that must mean that I usually wear size 16 M&S pants and am now in a size 24!!!!! But am a 12 in trousers normally so don't feel too bad about this Wink Can you get the long jeans taken up, as a quick fix?

Zoey are you feeling any different after being on the antibiotics for a couple of days?

What a nice OH Emus! Hope you had a good reunion! Smile Both my placentas are anterior and I'm beginning to get some movement behind them - only a bit, and the majority is still around the placentas, especially above and to the left side. 24+4 at the mo.

Hurray for your scan suburban! And another for team blue! Yippee!

Lanny what a gorgeous DH getting you an iPad! And great re Skyping transatlantically! Would love to see pic of orangery - sounds so swish!

Eig Good luck with MiL!!!

Ood I got your MN emails today but not the FB ones at all - but all is fixed now! I think one of the other women is a random Greek student, poss with an interest in my work, but the other one is still a puzzle. I PMed her but no response. Ah well.

OctoberCarrot · 18/11/2012 07:25

mand good to get some naps in especially when carrying twins.

Unfortunately not a sign of my maternity wear. I pathetically had a little cry about it yesterday not because of clothes but realised that all the Lovely newborn baby gros are in bag too. More pissed off about missing them at this stage, Tbh DH thinks I am going insane. We moved briefly into a rental in January and I fear we left them behind. Grrrrrr. Anyhow going to give one big search again today/tomorrow and then give up the ghost and buy some stuff.

Mum took Ds for a couple of hours yesterday so we had a lovely breakfast and walk around the shops.

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend. So far so lovely here. DH is away lots between now and Christmas so need to use him to get Christmas stuff sorted.

Happy Sunday all.

JoJoBella84 · 18/11/2012 10:33

27 weeks today, does that make me third trimester??! Eeek!
Icecream for breakfast to celebrate (actually I have no food in, this is all that's left. Really must go shopping!

OctoberCarrot · 18/11/2012 11:02

Quick post. Yippee. Found my maternity clothes and my lovely teeny tiny new born clothes. A more tears. Thank god as am organised and was thinking I am loosing plot.

Enjoy Sunday.

Chat later.

StormyBrid · 18/11/2012 11:04

Tramp - went for a snooze at 7pm, as was utterly exhausted and couldn't keep my eyes open. Then the owners of number 10 (who don't actually live there, they just stash family and friends there overnight occasionally) turned up to throw a birthday party. Cue thumping bass for five hours until I gave up and found some earplugs.

Films snuggled up on the sofa sound amazing. Our sofa's a crappy futon and we don't have a TV, so that sort of snuggling is something we're very much looking forward to when we move house.

Manda - see? Mad sizes! I'm guessing your bum hasn't actually expanded that much unless you're keeping the babies in there, so just chalk it up to the weirdness of M&S. I could've taken the long jeans up when I first got them, but they've got a lovely raggedy bit at the bottom now which would make it difficult. But I don't care, because I love them, and I just got an email from Next saying new ones are ready to collect. Only question is can I face town on a Sunday?

JoJo - What to Expect has the third trimester starting at week 28. But 27+1 is, when you think about it, the twenty eighth week, so I'd say yes, third trimester it is! Also according to the book, you should have about 2lbs of baby in there by now. Seems really big, doesn't it? I still keep picturing something the size of my little finger, at least until I get booted in the crotch and the belly button at the same time and realise she must have grown a bit!

My brother has furnished me with a simple recipe for beef stew, which I will try out this evening if the man can be persuaded to clean the kitchen first. Wish me luck?

theTramp · 18/11/2012 11:15

Morning ladies. Glad you found your mat clothes Oct. Sunny here in London, although I have a work day rather than a "me" day today, more's the pity. Still, not so bad. MrM is presently making us blueberry pancakes for breakfast which we are going to much with lashings of maple syrup - yum. Then sausage casserole and jacket potato for our tea. If only we could fit a nice long walk in there somewhere it would be perfect - but sadly as a work day we can't. Never mind.

Morning,

Yey for finding maternity and baby stuff Oct

Yum pancakes tramp

Jojo 27 weeks Yey, I'm 23 today, although my babies are always overdue I will relax a little more when I hit 24 weeks

GummiberryJuice · 18/11/2012 11:31

Sub Yey for team blue

Eig sending you some patience

Right a big pile of ironing and a pile of paperwork calling, hmm which shall win?

Oodthunkit · 18/11/2012 11:41

Oct phew for finding the stuff!

backwardpossom · 18/11/2012 12:22

Gah I really can't keep up at the moment... can someone kick my bum and tell me to finish my marking, please?!

JoJoBella84 · 18/11/2012 13:07

possum here's a great big kick for you. You may apply it as gently or as harshly as required! I'm on a sugar high... Woooooooooooohooooooooooo poor flumpy bump :)

Oodthunkit · 18/11/2012 13:17

Im getting really frustrated with not keeping up with housework :( we are on a constant battle trying to get rid of the mice who keep trying to move in for the winter. We catch them and then a new lot come. Luckily they only come into one room and not the kitchen but it's v frustrating!

JoJoBella84 · 18/11/2012 16:04

Just for those still looking for maternity outfits etc, 15% off at JoJoMamanBebe until midnight tomorrow.
I think flump has changed position, I feel like I've been booted in the abs and it's uncomfortable to move around, especially when I tried to put my socks on this morning. I struggled to breathe!! Every time flump has moved or kicked today I've felt winded!

My hand-stitched owl mobile arrived yesterday and I've resisted the urge to open up all of the plastic pouches to have a good look at the owls... I'm gonna save that until it's ready to be hung in the nursery as I don't want to damage it! My friend sent it in a hand made fleece pouch as well which has a lovely owl pattern on it. I'm thinking of keeping spare baby clothes in it when out and about as it's so lovely but has no use once the mobile is safely hanging!!
With any luck the two enormous bags of baby clothes will arrive tomorrow and distract me from playing with it!!

Gummi I often find with a choice between chores and work the chores win every time but I am the queen of procrastination!

Suburban team blue? yay! welcome to the team blue club!

OC fab news about the maternity clothes and little baby gro's! I'm so excited about my baby stuff arriving soon!

Manda good that you've had a great weekend and naps are most definitely encouraged! Mine was 4 hours yesterday and then two hours later I went to bed and still managed 9 hours (with a couple of pee breaks obviously)!

Em I might put Sultan Haribo on my shortlist of boys names... given my Haribo Starmix addiction I think it's quite fitting!!

Sorry to everyone I've not name checked I can only go so far back on my phone without losing my posts!! Have happy weekends everyone and I have consultant appt on Friday to look forward to :) Sadly no extra scan though :(

sundaesundae · 18/11/2012 17:13

Hi all, hope all are well. I have sort of kicked my cold but now have a yucky earache. Feeling quite flat at the moment too, think it is fear, money worries and OMG my life is going to change and I don't think I am ready-ness.

Feeling movements everyday, nothing on the outside due to chub and anteriorness of placenta, I just feel flumps really. Although if I lie half on my tummy I get told off!!

I reckon we will get an August thread in the next few days / week, how blinking scary is that??????

I'm over 22 weeks now, closer to the end than the beginning for sure!

pinkpeony4 · 18/11/2012 17:59

Place marking again, finding if very hard to keep up,

Hope all well

GummiberryJuice · 18/11/2012 18:17

Funny Sundae I was thinking once there is an august thread we really are old hands.

So I made dh and I a mocochino (?) Coffee spiked with hot chocolate, well it worked much better than the hot choc on its own, baby hasn't stopped, so for anyone wanting to feel some flumps I'd say give it a go

LexiandBeanette · 18/11/2012 19:54

Quick wave as have been at brother's for the weekend and no chance at all to catch up!
Another one not sleeping; between back pain, rib pain, bladder and weird dreams I'm waking up on the hour, every hour. Sympathy to all others affected.
Architect confirmed on Friday after measuring that we can definitely do the extension, the question will be the cost so we need to wait for plans from him for builder to quote. Still keeping everything crossed!
Hope everyone is doing OK - I'm 25 weeks today and suddenly starting to get a bit anxious at how little time is left!
