Hi everyone, it is Friday! Yay! Unfortunately I have a very busy weekend ahead and could cry as I have not slept properly for several nights in a row. It is a nice weekend involving a flying trip to Oxford and then on to the midlands but I'm so so exhausted and achy already and don't know how I'm going to cope!
I had a bit of a tearful meltdown when I finally got home last night. Thinking about finishing work yesterday made me realise how much things are going to change. At the moment I meet DH for lunch every day and we have lovely evenings cooking and relaxing together. I realised that this isn't going to happen anymore and cried lots over it. I didn't sleep again so still feel a bit teary this morning. Sorry for the moaning, I just can't do Fridays anymore Blush
Changing bags - I have fallen for the green spotty Cath Kidston one which I was thinking of asking for for xmas but I don't know if I can justify it! I'm hoping someone will tell me it is fabulous and I won't be able to live without it :)
I got the lovely asos dress yesterday and it is so pretty but has to go back as it can't accomodate my boobs
possom I think mine must be in a awkward position as I'm sore too. Is there a way to tell for sure? Kicks are all over the place.
tramp PJs sound great, just realised how uncomfortable mine are. Where did you get them?
October Mums and babies music sounds lovely, have a nice time.
dame Sleepless nights here, you have my full sympathy! Horrible crampy pains right at the top of my bump under my boobs , like a muscle spasm. Not nice at all.
zoey I hope that infection clears up soon.
manda I was planning on the size 20 pants today too :)
Have a great, restful and non-painful day everyone :)

dameflamingo · 16/11/2012 10:34

Zoey, that sounds terrifying. Am sending a massive pack of 'get well' energy your way. I hope that you are getting all the support you need. Rest up, take care of you and babylucas and investigate telly tubby outfit for light relief. Twilight sounds le the type of thing to distract you too.... Does that young man take his top off lots in this one? Report back... I felt like an old woman letch watching that scene in another film. He is young enough to be my..erm... Nephew and yet my first thought was 'is it hot n here?' xx

zoeymlucas · 16/11/2012 10:49

Dame according to his press conference yesterday he takes his top off ALOT in this one - CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!! But I will double check and confirm this fact as its an important part of the story Grin
Does anyone know where I can get a maternity all in one from? I am worried a normal one in a bigger size wont stretch with bump and will result in a camel toe, lol!

StormyBrid · 16/11/2012 11:06

Dame - normally I need long legs rather than regular, so I guess it's just Next being weird with sizes. The perils of internet shopping! But we went into the shop on Tuesday with an eye to trying on trousers before buying, and it turns out they don't carry maternity clothes in store. Nor does Tesco. New Look's limited range is a bit chavvy for my tastes (are we allowed to say that?). H&M was the only decent place, and they had bugger all in my size. Very frustrating, as a lot of my tops aren't fitting right any more.

She didn't use a tape measure, but did have a feel to check how big things are in there. Everything normal and growing well. As for how many weeks, I've been meaning to ask about that. At the dating scan - a Tuesday - they said 11+4. So is Friday +7? Does the number of weeks go up for me on Fridays, or Saturdays? My confusion was not helped by the midwife today saying I'm 24+1. I'm due on a Friday, so I'm currently thinking I'm spot on 24 weeks today. Excuse me while I go do the technically-viable dance. Grin

Midwife also reminded me that us dole scum get a five hundred quid maternity grant. Bonus!

Shel - evenings of relaxing with DH may be ending, but they'll be replaced by evenings relaxing with DH and baby. It'll be different, but I reckon it'll be pretty cool in its own way. Smile

GummiberryJuice · 16/11/2012 11:07

Tramp we all want to know about these jammies

Dame I had an awful night sleep, partly uncomfortable partly as the baby hadn't moved too much, then it did a little dance while I ate breakfast. Poor dh I think I kept him awake too and he asked me this morning what my plan was for the day, as in paperwoork or get books ready for accountant and I said sleep while he has loads to do today. So should really get off computer and either do some work or sleep!

Sheld you will be able to do these things just you will have another little person doing them with the 2 of you, it will be brilliant and you will wonder what you did/talked about before he/she came along

Zoey hope the antibiotics kick in, I am willing all the Marchers to get as close to March as possible! (for some of us that maybe the April side but ho hum)

Waves to everyone, I better go do some work and then reward myself with a napGrin

And hope Sheildbug is doing ok, haven't heard from you in awhile

Manda friend requests are maybe from other mn'ers who think they must know you as have lots of mn friends, I always find it strange when a complete stranger friend requests me just because we have a mutual friend.

GummiberryJuice · 16/11/2012 11:08

Oh yes Twilight I have to wait until next week as my friend had to cancel tonightSad

GummiberryJuice · 16/11/2012 11:10

Stormy I just ordered a pair of over the bump jeans from next they are lovely and comfy, got them yesterday and have them on today, but this was after the success of the black cords I was recommended on here!

StormyBrid · 16/11/2012 11:37

Gummi - the ones I'm in now are over the bump from Next, and they are grand. It was just such a hassle getting them. In the end my sister ordered them for me, as her house does exist and I was going down to see her. If I'd returned them and gone for a shorter leg length, I would have had to wait ages, as she would have had to post them up to Hull for me. And as a rule I'm quite happy to have the bottom of my trousers scuffed and ragged from standing on them. It's just not the best look when trying to impress!

I was looking at their cords too, but I'm wary as I've always had trouble fitting my bum in cords in the past - they usually seem to be designed for people with very neat little bums. How spacious are the ones you've got?

Em2010 · 16/11/2012 12:50

zoey hope the horrible infection clears up soon.

shel completely understand your worries re loss of lifestyle, life does change with children but mostly for the better! The things you enjoy going will always be there and there's so many new lovely things to do as a family.

Maternity PJs- I have a gorgeously comfortable pair from vertbaudet and you can wear them after pregnancy too but if anyone gets them I would advise to order a size up as they are small!

Em2010 · 16/11/2012 12:53

Ps- am also in the not sleeping well club. Isn't helped by ds waking a lot at the moment and weird, bad dreams! Also had to get up last night and take some paracetamol as my throat was like razor blades. When I woke up this morning I found I'd chucked the rest of the packet in the loo!! What was I thinking at 3am??

dameflamingo · 16/11/2012 13:36

gummi 'twas me who recommended the cords I'm thus so delighted that you liked them as much as I did, it's quite a risk taking someone's advice on these things and I was worried I might have helped you waste money! stormy they have a decent sized over the bump pouch which is pretty expandable and bigger at the bottom for when you get bigger/ further on. I to the jeans too and loved them...the black trousers though were a disaster on me though too big, too long so if these fit you well the cords might not... Try em on on Sunday.
em thanks for maternity pj advice. Am excited at very prospect!
shel hope you are feeling a bit better this afternoon, not sleeping doesnae help. I had a very real hot choc this morning and felt better for it! X
Sending happiness to you all

GummiberryJuice · 16/11/2012 14:18

The cords have more room than the jeans so they might be ok, I had to order the jeans with the nude panel as the others were sold out

StealthToddler · 16/11/2012 14:40

shel word of warning on the cath kidston bag - I treated myself to the cowboy one for ds2 - the big strap disintegrated very quickly.
I had on oi oi one for ds1 which is still going strong. Would also second the little mats which fold into a pouch and are perfect for putting in a couple of nappies and some wipes

Emus · 16/11/2012 15:46

Argh, I can't post anything! Maybe my post is too long?!

Emus · 16/11/2012 15:53

Hi everyone! Haven't been on for a while but have been keeping up (in a fashion)!

Had my nails done today - always have gel overlays but today I've gone for a gradient gel effect with a nail stamp design over the top! Don't think I will stop this 'treat' after baby comes along, he'll just have to come with me!! That's the plan anyway!

I am off for a girly night tonight: Nandos followed by Breaking Dawn that I booked ageeeeeees ago! I have just tried to find my Twilight DVDs to have a bit of a sess before tonight but cannot find them as they are still packed away in one of the 100 boxes we still haven't unpacked yet!

Emus · 16/11/2012 15:54

Congratulations to all who have completed or are moving into new houses (or having building work done!). Aren't our little babies lucky Grin. Sorry not to name check, I am beyond rubbish some times.

My OH returned this morning from his business trip to South Africa. Haven't seen each other for over two weeks so am so excited to see him. He said that I've grown and then gave me some maternity clothes he'd bought me from Gap including two nursing tips which I imagine will be VERY handy! I just hope I don't outgrown them before I need them.

Emus · 16/11/2012 15:55

I will definitely need some advice from you lovely ladies at some point on things like changing bags, push chairs etc. I am trying to make notes as I go along. Some makes I've never heard if before. I feel like such a novice!

Cannot find a maternity coat ANYWHERE in my size so had to buy a size 22 coat from Maine in Debenhams. It's not the type of coat I would normally wear but I need something warm that fits now. Hopefully I won't outgrow it. Had to return the coat from Next as it was ridiculously short!!

I still have a very quiet baby (especially compared to you lot by the sounds of it) and am avoiding Google since I've read that it might be a sign of DS! Am trying not to read into it and love it when he does kick me. So far haven't had any painful experiences of baby lying funny either.

Ciao for now. Hope all of you are well, colds, possible slapped cheek, aches and pains are manageable. X

Emus · 16/11/2012 15:58

(Sorry, have waffled on and MN would t let me post so had to split it up!! On my phone too so that was interesting!).

OctoberCarrot · 16/11/2012 16:15

Shel. Things change but for the better and tbh it isn't significant until they are a little bigger. You can still get out and about when they are small to dinners and cafes. And honestly you wouldn't want it any other way once they are here. Well mostly.

Hope everyone is having a nice day. Roll on weekend. DS is napping now after a busy morning and I have feet up before the dinner, bath and bed routine and then a nice quiet night in.

OC

lannyshrops · 16/11/2012 17:33

Very quickly, emus do you have an anterior placenta? I do and unless she is sitting on my cervix, I hardly feel a thing. I'm 24 weeks today so should be feeling lots of movement but its a bit hit and miss! The other day I'd not felt a thing all day so I had a listen with my angel sounds doppler and she was dancing around like a mad thing and I couldn't feel a thing!

Emus · 16/11/2012 17:49

Hi Lanny. Yes I do! Find it weird that some days he's quite active and other days there's practically nothing! Reassuring to know I'm not on my own :-). I'm desperate for OH to have a feel but there's been nothing today! I guess there's plenty of time.

GummiberryJuice · 16/11/2012 17:52

Emus my baby is quiet too and because I'm on no4 and expecting to feel more, I think I worry more, Im 23 wks on Sun, my placenta is high posterior so know its not that, I'm just telling myself I have a contented little one. Dd2 never Stopped moving and still doesn't stop 6 years on!

Oodthunkit · 16/11/2012 18:00

tramp where did you get pjs? I've been struggling

manda I FBed you also Pmed you on there to say who i was.

flamingo me too on crap sleep. Mine also punctuated by toddler wanting weeeeeeeeee.

zoey eek at infection, are you relaxing yet or still working like mad?

Crap day at work, lots of duty work and a walk in at 5 to finishing time so was late too. I've been yelled at and cried at and am exhausted. All achy and stumbling even with crutches. Dh at work tonight and dd1/2 at their Dads. So just me & dd3. Thinking of take away but not sure I have enough money plus it's working round dd3/bed

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 16/11/2012 21:25

Hi all,
Just saying hello, need to do a massive catch up. Hope all are well. X

Em2010 · 16/11/2012 21:30

Oh ood you really have my sympathies! Sorry to hear about your rubbish day. Really hope you can work out a takeaway to make yourself feel better. Dh doesn't normally 'allow' takeaways (on financial grounds) but after I rang him at work, in tears because I was so tired, couldn't cope with ds and generally at the end of my tether so he relented and agreed we could get one. Just wolfed down my lamb pasanda and trimmings and am feeling at least 8 months gone!

Just slobbing on the sofa and watching Gavin and Stacey, will go to bed soon and hope and pray that ds is a bit calmer tomorrow!!

emus I'm another one with an anterior placenta and definitely think it affects kick feeling- I don't really feel specific kicks, more like vibrations if that makes sense!

Hope everyone else is having good Friday nights!
