Hello lovelies! Had a great tutorial today. I'm getting really fond of my group already and impressed with their commitment and enthusiasm. Getting a bit sad I'm only doing one more with them before the Study Day in May, though on the other hand delighted I've only got one more assignment to mark as that's the hard bit of the job! Two brought cake today - gorgeous, light lemon drizzle and some brilliant cupcakes - yum!
OC you're right, altho I'm knackered I've got lots more energy than early on ? but I hear that with twins you're as big and heavy at 28 weeks as a singleton pregnancy at 40 weeks, and a lot of people take their maternity leave from then ? eek! Funny on the name of the scanning dept, by the way!
To answer Pink on that ... with my full-time job I'm stopping going down to London in December (when I'll be 28 weeks), just working from home after that, so am trying to get as many research trips done before then so I've got enough to tide me over. But as long as I can sit comfortably with my laptop I'll keep working till ? erm ? the birth?! I've got a fellow-academic friend, though, who said the same thing but she had had enough by 36/37 weeks so I'm prepared to change my mind on that! She took a whole week at the end just to lounge about once she realised that this would be probably be the last time for about 18 yrs she'd be able to do so!! Scary biscuits.
But with the OU tutoring I have cleverly decided to start mat. leave early, from 1 January, so that I didn't have to make the third assignment or teach any of the ancient Rome part of the course - not my forte! Crafty
Sounds like you're going to miss your Mum this time round, Pink, an I'm sure she'll miss being around at the birth of your baby girl. But great you have the au pair's extra pair of hands. Ooh, I've never been to the Horniman. Should rectify that at some point.
Tramp, yes the adjustment is slightly frustrating. But in so many ways I think pregnancy is preparing us for Life Afterwards. I think this when, for example, it takes me three times as long to get dressed and out of the door! Amazed at your baby shower baking - what a fab friend you are!
Oh Flowery, your poor Mum with the v. bad PND. Sounds like she got through it though?
Hermione that's a lot of moisturising! Normally I don't bother much, but I'm defo doing the bump after a shower (I was doing Pregnacare cream but now BioOil), and arms and legs with E45 which seem a bit dry at the mo. Great news about your course at work - brilliant! And sounds like you've got a good head start too
Has anyone got any recommendations for more natural alternatives to BioOil? Really not sure I like the idea of the ingredients...and the smell is a bit hmm for someone who sometimes develops allergies to smelly stuff!
Em impressed with your DH's culinary experimentation! How did it go?! Yay for Pooh nostalgia! I only discovered Pooh as an undergraduate. Love Alan Bennett too so great combo!
Lexi yay for the ballet! And how cool that beanette was jumping in the loud bits, hehe! BOO to your mate and her insensitive comment though, humph. Don't take it to heart. Our bodies will do what they need to do. If mine needs to extend a further foot horizontally, then ? erm there's nothing I can do to stop it!
Emus big yay for your fab scan! And how lovely to take your Mum along! I know mine would LOVE that too wondering if I can somehow make that happen Congrats on Team Blue! Woop!
Just waiting for Ocado delivery then bed. Was in bed a lot of the afternoon after teaching so am amazed I'm still so knackered!
