Huge congratulations tits. I'm so glad your baby is finally here safe and well. Enjoy your newborn snuggles.

Well I'm 39 weeks today. I dropped DD off at preschool over 2 hours a go and achieved absolutly nothing since, apart from doing online shopping! Got a fairly quiet week lined up, but trying to get out and about a bit so that I don't feel I'm just stitting around waiting for labour to start. I'm feeling quiet tired though so don't want to push myself too much.

WaitingForMe · 05/11/2012 11:19

I'm still working in a sense MM. I just drafted a brief to confirm a project outline to one client and submitted a set of ideas to another. But I haven't left the sofa house for work for over a fortnight.

I swing between hating that I won't ever truly stop and have a clearly defined maternity leave and appreciating that that means it won't actually end and I'm essentially going to be a SAHM as long as I like.

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 11:21

I'm dripping with sweat!!!!

I am sat here with a thin dressing gown on and nowt else. I've resorted to taking my arms out of it, and wearing it like some kind of bra around my boobs! Pulled it up as far as modesty allows! The patio doors are open, the heating is off, but the sun is fucking streaming through the living room window and heating me up like a boil in a bag.

URGHHHH! I'm contemplating siting here naked, but then I read that thread yesterday where it was considered disgusting to be naked about the house so maybe I shouldn't Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 05/11/2012 11:22

Right, i've decided i'm going to spend the day cooking and baking. Going to walk down to Morrisons for some ingredients, stretch my legs. And then obviously I get to eat al the things I cook Grin

FatimaLovesBread · 05/11/2012 11:25

Detective Was it the husband thread? I think most people were cringing at the potty-training toddler look rather than full nudity, but then it did digress in to controlling and weirdness. I have to admit, i'd rather a fully naked or full y clothed man than one with his willy dangling below a t-shirt. I don't think i'd even fancy Robert Pattinson dressed like that Grin

blonderthanred · 05/11/2012 11:31

"Tops but no bottoms? That's ruder than nothing at all!" - line from a sitcom a few years ago that DH and I are fond of quoting.

Passmethecrisps · 05/11/2012 11:49

Good morning!
Welcome to the world the eagerly awaited babytits!

I actually slept last night! Woohoo! In actual fact I probably got the same number of hours as normal but at least 4 of them were undisturbed. My goodness gracious me what a difference it has made - I feel like a new woman today.

Mind you, would anyone be surprised that I did worry on waking that baby hasn't been moving and that is why I slept. Honestly, I am never happy.

DH took it upon himself to book us in to relaxation classes today. I think he is getting quite excited. He was telling me this morning about the appointments he has today and tomorrow but he has left his diary free for the next fortnight.

My due date is tomorrow. My dates made it Thursday so it would be awesome if it could let me snooze another night then it can come.

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 11:56

Yes Fatima that's the one!

I must admit, I was going to post, but thought better of it! I'm a naked wanderer about this house! Even though DS is 10, and hasn't been seen naked for at least 4 years, he doesn't flinch at me! DP doesn't walk around with the toddler look though Grin given as he isn't DS's dad, that would be inappropriate!

I don't generally sit around in the buff. But I don't consciously cover up just because DS is around! If I got a hint of embarrassment though I wouldn't do it! I just don't see it as an issue if no one else does! I'm quite happy to sleep naked, walk to bathroom in the morning, even downstairs to iron clothes. I do usually have underwear on by the time I'm ironing though Grin

Both DP and DS walk in on me on the loo all the time... although they don't do it to each other!

DS is planning to be here for the birth, so who knows what he is going to see (was planning on wearing a button up shirt in labour, or a bra in the pool but nothing on bottom half). He isn't seeing the bottom end anyway, I think just being in the room is graphic enough! I'm glad that he is used to seeing his mum in varying states of undress though, as this is one less thing to have to consider! I don't for see any issues with him being around me breastfeeding either. I don't think he will find it strange or unusual which I guess some kids his age would do.

Funnily enough, he wasn't so bothered a few weeks ago about being here for birth, but as I've got closer to the day, he has become more determined to be here, and worrying that he might be in school and miss it!

I never really gave it any thought before reading that thread Confused

I have to admit, todger below tshirt is a bad look though! In attractiveness stakes!!

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 11:59

I want to know what Fatima is cooking!

I'm contemplating lunch. When there is a full weeks worth of food in the house, I find it reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hard to make a decision on what to have Grin

MissMummy1 · 05/11/2012 12:18

Detective our weeks food shop is about 4 days overdue. We're on a massive use-up so we can fill the freezer/cupboards when we eventually get round to doing a food shop this week. Lunch today is cheese and bacon toasties and dinner will be the roast chicken we were going to have yesterday but forgot to take out the freezer!

I sleep naked and don't mind walking to the bathroom etc in the nude if we don't have anyone staying. I lived with 2 guys when I was at uni so not in the habit of going full nude, they were quite used to seeing me in my undies though Blush!! Dh would be a full on naturist if he could. I sometimes need to remind him we don't live in the sticks anymore and letting it all hang out will have us put on a list! (particularly when he liked to stand at the window in our old apartment with his binos watching the boats....)

Chunkychicken · 05/11/2012 12:23

So baby is wriggling like a good 'un but according to the MW this morning, wriggled him/herself back up so is 'free' & not engaged at all!!! Wouldn't mind, except I thought things seemed to be kicking off this morning, and I'm still only measuring 36cm (the same for the last 3wks) which I could accept if baby was engaged iyswim...

This baby was measuring on the 90th centile/highest line on the graphs from my scans, so it seemed to me to be nearly a week ahead of my 'official' dates. I too thought that (given DD was born @ 39+3 & always measured on the mean/spot on) this might mean an earlier delivery. Plus head being down & engaged early, it would be sooner rather than later.

Oh and "Nothing worse than a naked man in socks" is a favourite quote in the Chunky household!!! The t-shirt + todger look is pretty yuck too... We just do naked here - sleep naked, wander around naked, except currently as I NEED to wear knickers & a sleep bra to bed.

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 12:55

I don't do many weekly shops, usually shop day to day, or 2/3 days at a time. Before I was pregnant I did them more often, but after never knowing what I wanted day to day, with hyperemesis and the fussiness that then followed, it was easier to just get stuff as needed!

However DP works for Morrisons, although his store is a small town centre one. I have to drive out my way to go to a big enough store to do a weekly shop (IMO!). We get a 10% discount, so I figured while on maternity leave I really ought to save money and go and get the discount! Plus they have a voucher offer on for christmas, and 15p off a litre of petrol. My weeks shop actually came in after discount as £75 (will need to spend about £6 tomorrow on a few fresh bits) but we have another £6 off the petrol, plus the voucher towards the christmas shop. So saved quite a bit. Especially when you consider we easily spend £15-20 a day on food when going day to day Blush.

Every penny counts now Grin And food is going to be the biggest way for me to save costs!

Decided on a veggie sausage butty. DS wanted to do it, so he is. While I sit on my bum! Ace!

Tell you what though, when this baby comes, this house is having a full on spring clean after. I just can't face doing it now, but I so want to! DP helps so much when reminded but it just isn't the same as when you have done a proper job it yourself. I'm really wanting to conserve as much energy as possible though now, as I am facing an uphill battle to have a vaginal birth, and am doing everything I can to make sure I am prepared for it!

ditsygem · 05/11/2012 13:26

Congratulations tits! I am so happy your baby is finally here and I hope your SPD recovers quickly.

39+1 today and I think nesting is finally kicking in! woo! I have so far blitzed the kitchen in a mega clean, cleared out the fridge, done 2 loads of washing, emptied all the bins in the house. After a sit down for lunch (jacket potato and cheese - yum) I am off to clean some more. (this is not at all like me but I am quite enjoying it!)

Really hope this baby comes this week or over the weekend - I really don't want to go overdue.

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/11/2012 13:58

fatima your cooking/ baking day sounds yummy I'd do something like that I just never have the energy! What will you be making?

I've just wolfed down cheese on toast, crisps, half an apple, a wagon wheel and a cereal bar I'm so hungry! I could still eat more...

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 14:02

DH I feel your pain Grin

Nothing seems to fill me!!

FatimaLovesBread · 05/11/2012 14:15

I'm knackered now after my baking Grin

I've cooked a creamy chicken and butternut squash stew which has been transferred to the slow cooker to keep it cooking. I've also just put a parkin in the oven, yum!
I'm going to do mash, roasted butternut squash and some chargrilled lemon courgettes to go with the stew.

I'm not normally this good though, this weekends meals consisted of pizza for lunch on Saturday, hot dogs at a party Saturday night, subway yesterday lunch and then mixed kebab and cheesy chips last night Blush So I thought I shoud make something descent for a change.

TheDetective · 05/11/2012 14:36

Jealous Grin Sounds bloody gorgeous!

I'm still miffed that our meal out last night in an expensive restaurant was mediocre at best, and the £10 takeaway we got on the way home filled me way more, and was much more enjoyable!

I hate going for nice food and being so disappointed with it! Not when it isn't something we do very often anyway!

We are having my favourite for tea! Baked potatoes! Before going to watch fireworks! I'll blast this baby out or deafen it!

I'm sat here waiting for DP to show any interest in putting up the very last item in the babys room. The curtain pole. We got the curtains yesterday! He knows I'm desperate to get them up to see what it all looks like. But he seems in a grumpy mood, and I don't want to nag him. He knows this was the one thing that needed doing today! Yet he is playing his stupid game! I might just go do it myself. It needs 2 of us though! But if I stomp to the shed to get the drill, he might get the idea? No?!

At least it will get me away from DS who has turned from super helpful to super grumpy in mere minutes because he is doing his homework.

ShellyBobbs · 05/11/2012 14:39

I've just put spuds in the oven for tea, can't wait to eat them now.

StuntNun · 05/11/2012 14:56

Fatima please explain chargrilled lemon courgettes. They sound delicious.

Despite my best intentions I have achieved nothing today, haven't even loaded the dishwasher, and now I'm back in bed. We have people coming to view the house tomorrow and it's a bombsite. But it was lovely and tidy on Saturday for visitors. I'm fed up of tidying up just to have it completely destroyed by DH and the kids.

OP posts:
TheDetective · 05/11/2012 14:58

I just mentioned the curtain pole and got a shirty 'if you want'.

I think DP has PMT Grin

He still hasn't moved though!

FatimaLovesBread · 05/11/2012 15:03

Stuntnun A friend used to do them at uni. You mix some olive oil, lemon juice and pepper (and whatever else you want) in a bowl. Then finely slice some courgette, i'm going to do mine with a potato peeler. Then soak them in the oil mix then pop them in a hot frying pan or on a griddle pan. I'll let you know how the turn out Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 05/11/2012 15:20

I've only just got round to having a shower, seemed pointless getting dressed so I'm in a huge t shirt and no bra.

We're poorly and not going anywhere so it's justified Grin

At least if baby decides to come tonight I've got clean hair!

applepieinthesky · 05/11/2012 15:23

Yay tits congratulations. Enjoy some time with your precious little boy first then prepare to kick some butt.

I'm feeling really down today. Not sure why. My car, DP and a mixture of things Sad I keep crying and can't seem to stop myself.

MissMummy1 · 05/11/2012 15:31

I've just put away 2 weeks worth of washing and am knackered. Kitchen is a bombsite after I let dh make toasties for lunch (toasties ffs - how is it possible to make so much mess?!) and I wanted to steam clean the bathroom. No energy left, and we really do need to go to tescos at some point... he can't be trusted to go alone

I think man nesting has commenced though. Albeit (unfortunately) not in the house but he's spent most of today sorting and tidying his garage. I see no real progress, but judging by how full the recycling bins are he's clearly been decluttering it somewhere!!

We were going to see fireworks tonight but decided against it. We're both still fluey (hin obviously SO much worse than me Hmm) and last year we had to walk miles and hang around for hours. It's very cold here too but fc we'll be able to see some of the displays in Edinburgh from across the river!

kirrinIsland · 05/11/2012 15:53

apple bloody hormones have a lot to answer for. Have you got something to do to keep you busy - try and keep your mind off things?

DH when I though labour might be starting on sat eve, I had a shower and washed my hair in preparation! Sods law it will start out of nowhere and I won't have time to make myself vaguely presentable...

My due date is 7th according to my scan but the 10th according to me, so why on earth I'm getting so impatient I don't know!
