Smegs - go online just this once for a food shop? Or send out DH when you can? A rest is more important!!!

clickingtock · 27/11/2012 20:46

Btw Smegs - full moon tomorrow. A lot of babies like to make a moonlit entrance... though DS wasn't having any of it Nuts - there's also one on 28 Dec so maybe you'll be getting yours close to your due date?

Biscuitsandtinsel · 27/11/2012 20:54

Ds2 was a full moon baby Smile. And the MWs were saying how rammed the labour unit was and how it is always that way with a full moon.

Hope you're too busy sneezing to read this though Smegs Smile

itsMYNutella · 27/11/2012 21:20

tock and biscuits I have heard that too.... I actually used to work in the police and it always went a bit bizarre on a night shift with a full moon - they're not called "Luna"tics for nothing! Wink

smegs sorry to confuse you :o I am a bit tired! Already in bed and DP is rubbing oil into the bump while I MN on the iPad..... Ahhh bliss.... Except it seems to make the bean push its bum out Blush not so cosy! But it's entertaining DP

Morning ladies, quick bit of advice, toddly boo is no better really, still has a really bad cough and a temperature, though Calpol helps, and we were up at 4am all hot and bothered then he started being sick, if brought up the water and the Calpol :( he is sleeping now (and hopefully I will be when teen boo goes to school) but I do tend to panic when my boys are ill, would you call the Dr?

SantasSecretSparkle · 28/11/2012 08:04

Boo poor toddlyboo Sad obvs I have no actual experience BUT I'd say ring the doctor, all they can do is tell you its a cold, OR if its something else deal with that!! There isnt a three panicked mother strikes and your out policy.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 11:25

Well of managed an hour after teen went to school, feel better for that, toddly boo is different again, much better but very tearful :( poor thing just nothing more I can do for him. I an still worried but not panicky any more, and I hate being the one who wastes their time iynwim.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 28/11/2012 11:28

Hope toddly is on the mend Boo. Can I prescribe a morning snuggling on the sofa watching a DVD or CBeebies? Ds1 always has that tearful / awkward stage when he's on the mend and I find it almost harder to deal with than him actually being poorly (when cuddles and snuggle normally do the trick)

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 11:35

It is just so sad Biscuits nothing helps them, yes you may prescribe the morning on the sofa, I may extend it to the afternoon too (is it ok that of are still in our Jim jams or am I just a lazy slattern? Grin)

The ttc'rs need some help filling up their thread so they can have a shiny new Christmas one, they also need new members. Off we go ladies, we have our mission Grin

GreenOlives · 28/11/2012 11:41

Poor toodly boo, hope he's a bit better now. I always find that children are more poorly at night (especially with temperatures) and it's horrible to see them ill when they don't really understand why they feel so rubbish Sad I would say just keep a close eye on his urine output if he continues to be sick as children can get dehydrated quite quickly and that definitely warrants a trip to the docs. Otherwise just keep up with regular paracetamol/ibuprofen to keep temperature down and offer plenty of fluids. CBeebies is definitely the way forward for poorly toodlers.

Biscuitsandtinsel · 28/11/2012 11:45

Yes - I prescribe a whole day of it boo. You are forbidden from ditching pyjamas. You may leave the sofa to obtain food and drink and for toilet breaks. You may also leave the sofa to obtain additional DVD based entertainment should this be required. Otherwise wait for teenboo to come and make you cups of tea Smile

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 11:49

Don't worry Olives mum of 2 who was still worrying about whooping cough even though he is vaccinated Hmm, all advice gratefully received :)

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 12:33

boo, doctors NEVER MIND seeing poorly babies. If you are worried, just go and see someone. Hopefully you'll get the "it's a virus, it'll settle" advice, but let someone have a look at him. Once you've done that, then I would prescribe a nice afternoon under the duvet or a blanket, snuggling and watching Thomas or Bob and reading and eating whatever miniboo can manage.

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 12:44

Oh thank you Bartlet that is good to know, I have called and they have a sit and wait clinic later today. I like all these sofa prescriptions Grin so does toddly boo! He has managed some toast and water this morning :)

GenericDietCola · 28/11/2012 14:29

Oh Boo how scary and I sympathise, although it sounds like he may be on the mend now. I second what others have said, though, if he can't keep anything down for much longer, I would go to the dr. My DD was sick for a few days, not keeping anything down. We had been to the GP on day 2 or 3 and they gave the usual advice - plenty of water, use Calpol for temps etc, but on day 5 she was still bad so we took her to A&E at about 6am and she ended up on a drip. I just had a feeling she was getting dehydrated and needed extra help. Was a bit scary that day and overnight, but by morning she was loads better. Interestingly, it was when I was staying overnight in hospital with her that I started suspecting I may be pg!

Hmm, anyone heard from Smegs? Hope this means things are kicking off for her.

TheLittleFriend · 28/11/2012 15:44

Oh dear boo, I hope he's better soon. Sounds a good sign that he kept his toast down Smile

I hope smegs has just sneezed out her baby!

I had my glucose tolerance and 28 week blood tests this morning, and got the results of the slap cheek one (I'm immune). Not much else to report here.

Oh, we did find out that dd's old pram had gone mouldy in the loft though, so annoyingly have to buy a new one. Anyone have or used a petit star kurve? It's the one I've got my eye on. Mostly due to its currently discounted price at mothercare!

"I had my glucose tolerance and 28 week blood tests this morning"

So did I, Little! We really are pregnancy twins! Smile

TheLittleFriend · 28/11/2012 16:03

Wow bartlet, bfp's same day, tests same day, due same day. What do you reckon to them both popping out the same day? I'm going for the 25th feb after what tock was saying, as it's a full moon that day!

OP posts:
BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 16:04

I'm up for that if you are!

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 16:29

Apparently there is nothing suspicious with toddly boo, just one of those child things but keep an eye on him. I think he is feeling a bit better now, I asked if I could get him some food, he said 'mummy I only like blue things now can I have a banana?' Grin

GenericDietCola · 28/11/2012 16:49

LOL Boo! My DD is always asking for blue food.

Little, glad you are immune and all is well! I'm putting a fiver on you and Bartlet sneezing out your babes on 25 Feb!

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 16:52

Shock Little forgot to say, yay for immunity Smile that's fab news.

GreenOlives · 28/11/2012 18:49

I feel left out fellow triple whammiers! My 28 week bloods and GTT are not until next Tues! I shall just have to settle for a sneeze birth on 25th Feb too so that we can stick together! Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 28/11/2012 21:32

No, not yet. The occasional - and I mean very occasional - contraction type thing. But not holding breath.

Dammit.

whimsicalname · 28/11/2012 21:56

Come on smegs. Let's hope tonight's the night!

My boys went through a phase of eating blue porridge gen and boo. I figured organic porridge and milk with a tiny dash of blue food colouring was still healthier than processed cereal crap. They're also very keen on hundred's adn thousands (known as 'pretty' chez Whim). They are very taken with the American blue hs&ts, which are now known as 'boy pretty'.

We had a brilliant score at a charity shop today - a Bob the Builder quilt and a Spiderman fleece blanket. Everything the discerning 2.5 yr old needs!
