tiddley .. Great news about your dad. Hope he is well enough to get home very soon.

shieldbug · 23/07/2012 22:19

Thanks for greetings!
Cari thinking of you and wishing you all the best for the future.
Sympathies to all feeling sick- I'm very lucky in only feeling a bit queasy. Please don't hate me Smile
Kirsty I have zits that my ds keeps pointing out to all and sundry and my belly is so big I'm worried I'll get "when are you due" comments soon. (Despite being about 3 weeks (I think)).
Tiddley glad things went well for your df.
TinkerBelle ds is October 2010 too- did we "meet" on MN before?

No sun here yet- please send some to NI!

mandasand · 23/07/2012 22:39

Hello to Catherine too!

I know what you mean about the lack of energy, sunny!

Aw thanks tinker. Had a lovely afternoon. Brother arrived and we headed down to the lottie for an hour in the SUN! and did a bit of much needed weeding whilst chatting to the old blokes and accepting gifts of surplus veggies Smile What's Entourage? Sounds like a French crime drama I may have missed?!

Think I'm going to sleep really well tonight after DH, visiting brother and I cycled a 10-mile round trip up the river to a pub and back tonight. I got away very well with my excuse when brother asked 'Wot no cider?!'

loving the classy stuffing-veg-pasty-in-mouth-whilst-walking, tiddley! I always feel a bit like that when I have the odd packet of crisps / iced finger on the way home from the Coop. And then another. Wink Think that's terrible that you won't have broadband till end of august! you may be able to do something temporary, though it might cost a bit? We can't lose you at such a crucial time! Glad your dad is feeling chipper - amazing man, given surgery and chemo in quick succession!

glad you had a good booking in appt, flowery and how nice that you'll be seeing the same midwife. I can't imagine seeing a different person each time! tricky not to agree about the tests. me and DH roughly on the same page but he just wants to do 'what's recommended medically' when actually it's a big decision whether or not to test in the first place. I personally want all the tests going. But when 'researching' this I made the mistake of reading some of the MN discussions about not great things diagnosed at the 20-week scan and the heartbreaking decisions people are having to face right now. I really hope none of us have to go down that avenue.
I'm really spotty too, kirsty, rose, shield, Catherine and lexi!

Happy hols tedmundo Smile

Oh dear, kkforever, what a nob of a team manager you have there! Bad timing?! Grrr?..

sneezecake · 24/07/2012 07:09

Hi everyone, I was hoping for a bit of advice, I did another test this morning and today I'm technically late. Well the line on the test is fainter than yesterday, does this mean that my hormone levels are dropping?
Also I have no symptoms what so ever, this is not a good sign is it?
Preparing for the worse Sad

Leftwingharpie · 24/07/2012 07:17

Great news Tiddley - particularly about your DF. It's all go with our house move as well - if all goes to plan we'll be moving the weekend after next. Can hardly believe it.

Went to my booking appointment but it didn't make me feel any more pregnant. I just want to have my scan. The surgery they sent me to was miles away - if I'd had to get buses it would have been a 2.5 hour round trip. I wonder why they can't see women locally.

Leftwingharpie · 24/07/2012 07:19

Sneeze it doesn't mean anything of the sort. It just means there's a slight difference in the concentration of your wee and/or the test strip you used is slightly less sensitive. Did you have any symptoms before?

Leftwingharpie · 24/07/2012 07:22

With your last pg at this stage I mean.

Vixjane · 24/07/2012 07:22

Hi sneeze cake (sorry iPad keeps putting the space in!)

I had this last week, did a test on the thursday which was feint but had a line, did another on Friday to confirm it more and the test was feinter then got a clear blue digital so we wouldn't have to interpret the line and it was positive.

I think it is just down to the sensitivity of the test how diluted your urine is etc. As far as I'm aware a line is a line but maybe get a digital test to put your mind at rest?

sneezecake · 24/07/2012 07:38

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, I'm welling up, I can't remember when I got symptoms when I was pregnant with DS I do remember needing to pee more frequently and my nipples were like they have been rubbed with sand paper!
But I can't remember at what stage that was.
I never felt sick with DS.
Would my non tender boobs be explained by DS still bfing? (I know nearly 4 and still doing it I'm too soft with him and its more like a dummy I don't think he gets much milk, and it's more for comfort, and he's had so much discomfort in his little life I want to do as much for him as I can)
I did drink a lot of water yesterday which made my pee very pale and I did pee in tHe night
Clutching at straws I know I will pop out later and get another test, I mean there is still a line there and it's quite strong but just not as strong as yesterday, which was my due on day, does that make sense?
Sorry for rambling Smile

mandasand · 24/07/2012 08:03

morning all! it's going to be a lovely day again here today.

dear sneezecake, good idea: just keep on doing the tests to put your mind at rest. I did four in the first two weeks I knew I was pregnant! I'm desperate to do another, as I really don't feel pregnant and the symptoms I had have diminished a lot, but I'm going to try to save up my pennies for a private, early scan after I am eight weeks (this Saturday!) Fingers crossed for us all Smile

sneezecake · 24/07/2012 08:11

Thanks mandasand can you call or be referred to your early pregnancy unit? When I was 6 weeks with DS I rang them for an early scan which they did put my mind at rest.
I have just had to ring the emergency smell gas number, went outside just now and a really bad smell of gas but they are doing gas works on the road behind us, theyre sending an engineer out, bloody hell I can't be evacuated this early in the morning on my day off!

mandasand · 24/07/2012 08:19

oh no! hope you aren't evacuated!

I understand from others on the thread that the EPU may see you if you're having worrying symptoms such as bleeding with cramping, but I'm not sure whether you can contact them directly or whether you need to be referred by a doc.

I've found a private clinic a few miles away that has rave reviews for its early scans. It's not cheap at £120, but to put my mind at rest it will be worth it. (It took a while to persuade DH of this fact though!) I'm waiting till after 8 weeks because I read that the chance of MC drops a bit after that.

roseandroli · 24/07/2012 08:26

Dear sneezecake--in case you're still worried about your pg test, here is a link to a website I found useful:

Everything you ever wanted to know about peeing on a stick...!

Morning everyone! I am trying to get motivated to go to swimming this morning, but so far just sitting here reading this thread...

JoJoBella84 · 24/07/2012 08:32

Morning all,
I hope the sickness is lifting for some of you! It hasn't here but no blood so I'm grateful for that!! 3.5 hours to go until I meet the midwife ( it almost feels like a pregnancy milestone )!
BP was a little low on fri when I visited the GP hopefully it will have lifted!
Welcome to the new faces! I'm sorry I've not really been responding today posts- I'm just shattered and vommy so I'll catch up properly today hopefully!

Catherine26 · 24/07/2012 08:44

It's not normally that early honey but if you've had problems before you could try requesting an early scan x

shieldbug · 24/07/2012 09:14

"sneeze" hCG levels vary according to the time of the day, so this may affect the density of the positive line. Also there is individual variation in the tests; they aren't meant to give any measure of the concentration of hCG, just a positive or negative result. In other words a fainter line may not relate to your hormone levels at all so don't worry. I'm still bfing ds1 but I'm trying to wean him off now. I know what you mean about the comfort. I think bfing may affect your hormones too.
Don't worry about boobs not being sore; mine are this time, but last pg they were less sensitive than usual- I used to be in agonies before my period, then suddenly they stopped hurting when I was pg. Our bodies are strange and wonderful things!

tiddleypompom · 24/07/2012 09:41

Hope you feel a bit more reassured sneeze, poas-ing is not a reliable method of finding out what is going on, once pregnancy is confirmed. I feel great today (helped by sunshine) but am trying not to worry that it's a bad sign as there is sod all I can do about it! Also am 9 weeks and dr google says it is relatively common to have a symptom dip then. Que sera sera.

Midwife at 11.30. They do home visits for booking in here - which is great except I spent the last half hour cleaning the bathroom! Last time I remember they asked me (in front of DH) whether I suffer any domestic abuse, and if I was circumcised!! Me, not DH! Golly.

Hope no evacuation this morning!

Tbh I reckon the weight of stress over the past month has contributed to my sickness - anxiety does have a physical effect on me - so maybe I feel better because I feel happier?

sneezecake · 24/07/2012 09:50

Very interesting site roseandroli, thank you I do feel a bit better about it, and in the end stressing about it won't change anything, let's just enjoy the sun.
The gas men turned up and the gas smell had gone Blush but they were really nice and checked everything and all in order, so no evacuation today phew!

Hope all your midwife appointments go ok

shimmy0 · 24/07/2012 11:11

Is the yellow wee thing ever true?

Lexiindisguise · 24/07/2012 11:45

sneeze glad no mega gas leak!
A bit down today as found out my Nana has secondary liver cancer they can't treat due to her other health conditions. We don't want to tell her about the bean till we have had the scan, as she suffers with dementia & is easily confused, but she may only have four moths to live so it's unlikely she will ever meet our baby Sad My Mum had a tough pg with my brother & my Nan came over to Germany to look after me & give her a break for six months, we are close & I will really miss her. Some bad news from a friend yesterday too has just made me really sad - it's a tough world out there!

JoJoBella84 · 24/07/2012 12:59

Booking appt has been and gone and my EDD has been brought right forward to 10th Feb?!?! Eeeeek!

tiddleypompom · 24/07/2012 13:18

jojo! 10th Feb?! How many weeks does that make you? Wow. Don't go sneaking off into the Feb thread now, we need you here to be our scout :)

lexi do sorry to hear your sad news. It is indeed a tough world - which is itself a hard fact to digest when you're pregnant. Hugs to you x

Booking appt done here too & I have a shiney new set of green notes. Had to feed DS his lunch & then entertain him do wasn't the most relaxing appt, but was in our garden, which was great. Officially pregnant & In The System :)
