waves at everyone, thought i felt better today but again i feel like john Wayne and im in agony again!

dont worry desiren we definitely all have off days! i wonder whether ill need injections as my consultant has said they will be born in week 36 Hmm

hope everyone else is ok sending you all lots of love xx

rednellie · 17/04/2012 22:03

desiren, just to echo what everyone else is saying - here is where you can totally moan for England and we will not shoot you. Grin After all, if we can't have a moan/bad day and tell this lot about it then we really are up sh*t creek. Am sorry the injections are so painful - god, they don't tell you stuff like that do they?

goingmad, I'm sorry about the spd. I had an amazing physio during my pregnancy who i'm still seeing now and she transformed my life with spd - she uses this system which kind of goes against everything else I'd heard (I can't remember what it's called, but I'll find out and tell you). Basically, it tells you to create a wide base at all times, i.e. have your legs open when you sit, etc...anyway, get a physio to help.

Had some better days with DD and DTs, we're getting there...Smile

blimey, where do I start!
Desiren, definitely no need to apologise - I barely detected a rant any way! Like Rednellie said, this is the place you can moan and rant all you like - we know how you feel at least to some extent. I didn't realise about the injections either - I had heard they were painful but I didn't know when you needed them till - my doc has not mentioned them to me and I am due to be induced at 36+5.... I think I will ask at scan next week if I am meant to be having them.

Goingmad - I hope you get some help re your pain, as you can not put up with that amount of pain for the rest of your pregnancy - and unfortunately if may well get worse as your babies grow and grow!

Glad things are getting a bit better Rednellie. I can remember how hard I found the first few months with DD - and there was no second baby and no older sibling! I think I am burying me head in the sand a little about how hard it is going to be when the twins arrive.... but I guess there is nothing I can do about it anyway - I am lucky that DD will continue to be in nursery for three days a week and my parents and going to come and stay to help out - although they cant stay all week every week, they will be able to come and stay a few days every week. in fact they have just been to stay for two days and Dad tidied the gardena and mum hoovered the entired house - as welll as looking after DD for me! So I really shouldn't have any complaints.

I had another good appt with the mw yesterday - my last one! Consultant/scan next weds and then going in on the following monday. A bit worried about being induced as everything I have heard has been far from postive, but I am going to go with it but keep my options open re pain relief.

I hope all Mummies are doing well and grabbing as much rest as you can, and all Mummies-to-be are blooming (ok, that might be optomistic!). There will be lots of babies along in the next few weeks!

Desiren · 18/04/2012 19:26

Thank you every one for kind words.

I think the injections were more precautionary then anything else, but boy did they hurt.
I've spent today double checking everything BB3,Red & Dream if your using disposable nappies how many do you go through a week I've a stock pile but now I'm not sure if it's enough to last awhile.
So wish me luck for tomorrow! This time tomorrow I'll be a mother of 4 eeeek.

bigboobsatlast · 18/04/2012 19:31

Good luck desiren! will be thinking of you. come and tell us your news when you can x

Desiren · 18/04/2012 19:34

Claire my 15 year old was like Shock in her mind Ive stopped doing the nasty. But she is excited she was a huge help when I had my 5 year old DD2 I doubt she will be as helpful this time due to social studying.
DD2 cant wait for babies to come and wants me to bring them to school for show and tell.

Desiren · 18/04/2012 19:36

Thanks boobs

claireinmodena · 18/04/2012 19:54

LOL at your dd2 and show and tell desiren! Grin. Best of luck for tmrw

Being a mother of four is great except when you get stalked by complete strangers pitying you Hmm

baileyslover · 18/04/2012 20:45

Good luck desiren mother of 4 eek Grin

BB3 · 18/04/2012 21:30

Good luck Desiren!!!! Yay more babies on their way!!! Enjoy, let us know when you can tear yourself away from those beautiful newborns x

Nappies I use reusables but go through about 12-14 a day although was many more when they were newborn. I've only used disposables when they have upset tummies and I'm changing them every hour!

BB3 · 18/04/2012 21:37

Cannot wait to find out weights, names etc, another day of not working excitedly waiting for news GrinGrinGrinGrin

scollister · 19/04/2012 00:06

Good luck Desiren hope all goes well tomorrow and looking forward to your news.
Hope all you other ladies are doing well and getting some rest - it's so lovely to have met you here although I don't post that often :)

claireinmodena · 19/04/2012 02:34

desiren we'recurrently using 8-10 nappies a say. It was around 12 in the early days. Miaybe I'm a bit late now though Blush

rednellie · 19/04/2012 05:26

desiren - good luck! That snuck up. I hope you're all enjoying your newborns, and ahhhhh at your DD2.

And yeah, I'm using reusables as well and probably getting through at least 12 a day...so...much...washing.

OP posts:
goingmadtrying · 19/04/2012 06:29

good luck desiren Grin

let the next got of babies arriving commence :)

ladies of you using reusables how many did you buy? i only thought about doing this a couple of days ago to save money, but curious of the set up cost especially as I've stock piles disposables :)

DreamingOfPeace · 19/04/2012 09:44

Ooh, good luck desiren!!! I'm very excited to hear your news. Hope all goes smoothly, you'll be cuddling your beautiful babies so soon Grin

We're on disposables and 8-10 a day. Again, too late I'm sure!

I feel a bit zombie like after another night of only about 3 hours broken sleep. Can you actually die of sleep deprivation?!?! :-)

BB3 · 19/04/2012 09:48

Goingmad I have ds's old pack of 20 and a new pack of 20 for the girls, I use the new pack and then dip into the old pack if I've not washed and dried them all in time. I would say there are regular 30 in cyclical use (on, in wash basket, drying etc).

BB3 · 19/04/2012 09:50

Oh dream, how are you getting on (minus sleep deprivation!), you do have to take it easy as you will just get beyond exhausted and you do need to take care of yourself as well as those little ones.

bigboobsatlast · 19/04/2012 10:05

I am not sure about death by sleep deprivation but I can remember how absolutely horrible being so tired feels so I really fele your pain Dream. BB3 is right, you must try and catch up on some sleep if you can (I know it is easier said than done). How is your 'Mothers help' working out? can she watch the babies while you grab some sleep when DD naps? Just a thought - I am sure you are doing everything you can to rest already.

Presuming Desiren will have gone in by now.....!!

Goingmad - I am ill-prepared nappy wise. I am going to sue disposable (I already use the washing machine so much that I dont think i could cope with anymore - I am impressed Rednellie!) but I only have one pack on nappies so far! I thought I would wait until they are here to check what size I will need, although I guess I should get a few more in now as I know both babies are already 5lb+ (if scans are accurate).

Still in dressing gown, still sat on arse... time to get dressed and at least pretend to do something productive Wink

Celestia · 19/04/2012 15:05

Hello ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining?

Well, we had a huge shock at our 12 week scan on Tuesday when we found out we're having twins! Oh my goodness the shock of it! We had no idea. I'd been a little more sick and much more tired compared to when I was pg with dd but would never had guessed twins!

We're still reeling really. When does this wear off...or does it ever? My heads spinning with EVERY scenario/problem etc.

Can anyone offer any advice/reassurance please? I'm so scared :(

12+6, #2, edd 26/10/12

bigboobsatlast · 19/04/2012 16:40

Welcome Celestia and congratulations!! Hmmm, does the shock wear off... yes, in my case it sunk in over a week or so and then I was just swapping between nervous and excitement! Although I am not quite sure I really believe there are two babies until I actually get to meet them!

How old is your DD? And did they say what type of twins you have when you had your scan?

Please don't be scared - yes twin pregnancies are 'higher risk', but that is managed through much closer and more regular care throughout your pregnancy. And actually having two babies... well, I have not had mine yet so no words of wisdom but ladies on here will be able to reassure - yes it will be hard but it will also be AMAZING! Its so special having twins.

Congratualtions again and please come back and air any concerns / worries / random thoughts (!) - it really does help. We all have our difficult times and worrying times, so we can help each other through it.

Make yourself a hot chocolate and put your feet up while the news sinks in! Have you told any friends / family yet? what was their reactions?

baileyslover · 19/04/2012 16:49

Welcome celestia. I remember the shock well, we found out we are having triplets at the dating scan. It took us a couple of weeks to really sink in. Think I am sorted in my head re the pregnancy, but don't think the full ramifications will kick in until the three are here and healthy. I am 18 weeks and known for 5 weeks so much calmer!

Prepare for lots of hospital checks and for your DP to become obsessed with a bigger car Grin

Celestia · 19/04/2012 18:37

Thank you so much ladies. Triplets must have been a HELL of a shock Baileyslover!

Bigboobs....my dd will be almost 6 when they arrive so the age gap is not a worry thank goodness. She's super excited and dying to help out (even though we've told her we don't expect her to lol).

On my notes it says they are DCDA (?). I never knew there were so many types to be honest!

Thanks again. I'm sure I'll be posting here lots!

Celestia · 19/04/2012 18:40

Oh and will I get extra growth scans? If so when? The consultant said my next scan is the usual one at 20 weeks then a growth scan at 28 weeks. Does that sound normal? I thought there'd be more tbh.

goingmadtrying · 19/04/2012 18:46

welcome celestia i think you learn to live with the shock! congratulations on your twins, dcda means they have their own sac and placenta which is the safest of twins i believe, i thought with this type you saw a consultant once a month, im mcda and see my consultant every two weeks, :)
i will also deliver at 36 my consultant told Me dcda are normally born around 37/38 weeks, im surprised that you will only see them twice from now till 28 weeks, maybe check the nice guidelines Hmm im sure one of the dcda mums will be along shortly
welcome aboard its a bumpy ride Grin
