Thanks Moosey for the title :)

I thought I'd go for it as there are only 4 or 5 posts left to go on the old thread.

Two other threads to be aware of:

Stats - you can update announcements here
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1157973-Nov11-Stats-only

Post Natal - for those of you already cuddling :)
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1326836-November-2011-early-birds-just-in-time-and-late-to-the-party-all-welcome

Hope this thread sees all our nests full.

sorry ladies, totally failing to keep up, cant think why - I see we've a couple more births (congratulations), a couple more potential starters (woo, good luck!) and still some fraustrated ladies (sending you the vibes). We had some big old feeding problems for a while and it was looking all a bit "we may have to take her in", but we seem to have turned a corner. Obviously I am now alternating between "oh, thank goodness" and "its all going to go horribly wrong any second!".
Anyway, as I said before, good luck to those still waiting. Soon! Very very soon!

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 26/11/2011 22:09

Good luck all. I'm still here, no signs. I shall be the last I'm sure :(

hadak · 27/11/2011 09:43

Morning ladies.
Mrs A I feel for you. Sending labour vibes your way, as just says you will have your lovely baby soon although I know that is of no help when you are fed up of waiiting.
Pandia I am sure you are having lovely cuddles by now. Hope it all went well.
Good luck to anybody else left. I must try and get over to the pn thread but my little one has been very unsettled (sleeping approx 20 mins ata time as- can't seem to get wind up.) I haven't had much chance. BUT the little star managed to sleep a whole 5 hours last night. Yipeeeeeeeeeee. Now of course I am racking my brain to think what I have done differently to get him to sleep........... oh the worry us mums go through.
Have a good day everyone

voodoomunkee · 27/11/2011 12:05

Good luck to those with potential pains and niggles!
MrsA it is of course no consolation that you are still waiting and brewing. We shall stay til the bitter end with you!

Hi all, sorry for the radio silence from me again. Baby David was born on Friday 18th at 10.38pm weighing 7lbs on the dot. It was a quick labour following an induction as my blood pressure was finally too high for them to let me be. So quick there was no time for much in the way of pain relief so I managed on gas and air whether I liked it or not.

Selfish as I am I ended up with an episiotomy and a second degree tear following a forceps delivery. So still recovering.

Baby David is gorgeous but definitely helping me to redefine what sleep deprivation means!

Off to catch up on the thread and try to have something to eat before the little man wakes up again...

mashpot · 27/11/2011 19:41

Congratulations Truffkin H007 and Buffy!

Thoughts are with all of you still waiting, I haven't forgotten the frustration.

So, my little baby boy was born on Wednesday at 20.21, weighing 8lbs 6oz. My epic story...I started having contractions on Monday night at about 8pm and went to bed that night with the TENS machine on. I was up at 4am as couldn't really sleep through the contractions and they went on throughout Tuesday with me and DH trying to go for some walks and rest as much as possible. By Tuesday afternoon I was being quite sick and couldn't keep anything down and that was getting more annoying than the pain of the contractions.

I called the midwife to let her know I was in labour and they told me to contact them again when my waters went or contractions were 4 mins apart. They were about 4 mins apart by 11pm and the mw came out to see me but I was only 3cms so she left again and I spent a pretty sleepless night trying to get any rest possible. I called the mw again who came back at 6.30am but I was still only 3cms - I couldn't believe it as the pain was so much more regular and intense.

As I was 41+3 on Wednesday I was due to be induced anyway so she offered to break my waters to see if that would get things going. I agreed and there was meconium in the water so I had to wave goodbye to my hoped for homebirth and head into hospital. DH and I got our stuff together and got to hospital at 8.30am. I was examined and was 5-6cms which was great news.

I had to be constantly monitored because of the meconium but I could still use the pool in our room with some fancy monitor which was great news so I was in there for a few hours and by 11.20 I was 8cm dilated and the mw got me out. Things were progressing well and we all thought it would soon be over but then I got stuck at 8cm and I was still there at 15.30! I agreed to a synotocin drip to get things going and by 6pm I was fully dilated and could start pushing. At 7.20 I was still pushing and after being examined by 2 doctors they weren't entirely sure which way the baby was facing and we decided to go for assisted delivery. I was so exhausted by this point I just needed to get him out so we went into surgery and after getting through almost 48 hours on gas and air I had to have an epidural! They gave me the epi at 8pm and at 8.21 out little boy was born, with the aid of ventouse and forceps. It wasn't ideal but I was glad I didn't have to have a c-section, which would've been the next step so I'm looking on the bright side.

I had to stay in hospital until Friday as I was having lots of problems breastfeeding which was really hard and I had to give him formula but today he has breastfed twice which I am ecstatic about and just hope I can keep it up. Its been a rollercoaster few days but I think I'm getting back to myself now.

All apart from a horrendous headache I have had since the birth. I have been assured its not dural tap headache as I am up and about and not laid flat on my back but it is the worst headache I've ever had with a constant vibrating, rumbling in the my head. Has anyone else experienced this? Its really debilitating. Would be grateful for ay advice?

Sorry for such a monster post but felt quite cathartic to write it all down.

Anyway, my boy is so gorgeous I feel like the luckiest mum in the world.

MrsA, I see there's no word from you today so I hope something's happening....

hadak · 27/11/2011 20:02

Congrats to Buffy and welcome baby David.
Wow Mash sounds like you had a really tough time but glad to hear your little boy arrived safely. Hope the bf continues to go well and the headache clears up soon.

PamSco · 27/11/2011 21:21

MAsh that is an epic labour - well done you.

juststarting · 27/11/2011 23:38

Mash, thats quite some labour. I had 107 hours from first contraction to last with a maximum of 15 minutes in between with DS. It was awful. I ended up with the home birth etc, but I was so exhausted. Yours sounds kind of worse to be honest. I hope you heal well from it, and i'm glad your little boy is so gorgeous.

alicat10 · 28/11/2011 00:33

Congratulations Buffy & Mash

Thread quiet today so hopefully the final few are graduating ...

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/11/2011 01:58

Congrats buffy and mash - amazing labours!

I'm still here feeling sorry for myself. 40+5 today per nhs so I guess not stupidly oveerdue.

To top it all off, I left my maternity notes at the acupuncturists today and she's a bit of a drive away so we have to go back to get them and MIL on holiday from today, so we officially have no childcare for DD now till Saturday and I have no idea what we'll do if my lovely homebirth plans end in a trasfer to hospital. I guess leave DP at home or take DD with us?? Sigh. I am sure I'm now the last one here on the thread....

juststarting · 28/11/2011 07:18

Ah mrs, you sound like you're feeling bleak. You're not going to be abandonned here on your own though, we're waiting with you.

neverinamillionyears · 28/11/2011 08:27

Mrsa - I'm still here 40+2. We had dsd over last night so was a bit concerned that it might start whilst she was here. Dp is now on his way to school with her.

A nice week ahead hopefully. Dp is now off work till Jan :)

neverinamillionyears · 28/11/2011 08:27

Sorry, congrats to buffy and mash x

TwoJackRussellsandababy · 28/11/2011 08:37

Mrs, we are all still here with you (although I've been lurking, but still here), waiting for you and everyone else who is still waiting to graduate to the postnatal thread which won't be long now am sure :)

alicat10 · 28/11/2011 09:07

Been hoping everything ok with Merlioness as we've not heard from her for a while ... Checked her Facebook & admired some cute baby pics Grin

PamSco · 28/11/2011 09:41

MrsA I reckon having no childcare will probably guarantee something kicking off Wink

Morning all. Never and Mrs A As others say we will stay until babies arrive.Mrs A I don't want to worry you but I would check with your hospital re DD going in with you to labour ward. My son who is 13 (so not a toddler) really wanted to come with me when I had baby but as it happened he was at school when I went in. I had baby at 7pm at night and OH was going to go and pick DS up to bring him in to show baby before heading home and leaving me for night. DS was desperate to meet his new brother and had been on the phone to me and his dad throughout my labour. The midwife on ward refused point blank so I went home that evening which to be honest was a pain as I had to go back to the hospital next morning at 10am for pn and baby checks.
I am keeping fx that you will get to have a lovely home birth you have planned.

neverinamillionyears · 28/11/2011 21:28

Hi all. Well whoever is left. It's very quiet on here but thought I'd put an update on.

Period cramping every 8 minutes or so since 5pm. Just started getting a bit of back ache and lost more if my plug. I know this could go on for days so not getting too excited just yet. mrsa how are you doing?

pandia · 28/11/2011 22:30

Never that sounds promising. Don't worry I am here thinking of you and have everything crossed. Our beautiful daughter arrived yesterday. Currently in hdu and will do full update soon. Come on all remaining babies! X

hadak · 28/11/2011 22:34

Hi Pandia Congratulations, good to hear from you. Hope you are ok and your daughter recovers soon.
Never good luck I too am keeping fingers crossed for you

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 28/11/2011 23:42

Still here. Nothing doing. Did a bit of dancing this afternoon amd bump felt very low and like it was resting on bubbles, if that means anything.

No show, waters or anything. I will be last one and really would prefer not to have a Dec baby! Off to sleep and to wallow in self pity.

neverinamillionyears · 29/11/2011 01:36

mrsa try to not feel so down. You have been one of the most positive thinkers on here.

Dtd, long walk round shopping centre and a curry has started this off. Curry wqs rank though so am half wondering if these pains are food poisoning!
Got my first really painful contraction (all over bump) about 40 mins ago they are now just regular painful period pains. Still every 7-8 mins. Is this labour?

neverinamillionyears · 29/11/2011 07:46

In hospital, was only 1cm tho. Had a sweep and pain is awful. Sorry thought I was made of stronger stuff. Contractions are horrid, need pma.

TerrysNo2 · 29/11/2011 08:07

PMA never you will soon be getting cuddles!! Smile

So will you MrsA might just take a little longer but it WILL come out, promise!

Congrats buffy mashpot and pandia
