Only 6 days left at work but it's 3 weeks because I'm part-time. I feel absolutely enormous already and can't quite figure out how I'm going to fit behind the desk for that long! I'm already on a ball at home but can picture the health and safety people having kittens if I tried to take it to work.

Definitely short on sleep due to heartburn. Although I finally got round to getting my prescription for NHS generic gaviscon equivalent it doesn't seem to be helping much.

I'm sure it's just that everyone's busy with other things but it's getting to the point when you wonder when people go quiet for a few days...

beijingaling · 25/11/2010 06:20

34+1!

I'm doing ok apart from some not fun at all heartburn. I've been walking around clutching my gaviscon like a drunk clutching his gin.

A good nights sleep also no longer exists partly because we changed to a smaller bed a few months ago (old one was too big for the room) and DH still thinks there is the same amount of room as before. DH also thrashes about like a landed fish and it's DRIVING ME MAAAAAAAAAAD. Grin On top of this is the usual needing to pee every hour thing.

REALLY looking forward to meeting our LO soon. Bored of being pregnant now but not so excited about the whole giving birth thing. It's my first though so no real idea what to expect.

Finally my once beautiful innie belly button is now a classic outie. Sad

MacMomo · 25/11/2010 08:11

7.5 hours of exams yesterday, seem to have exams every week. 3 weeks to go and then I can go home! A colleague who is a Relate counsellor advised me to read a book called Baby Shock that they produce, so the partnership/marriage doesn't fall apart when the baby arrives and changes our lives round, might be worth a read. I think he was alarmed when I said we hadn't bought anything, packed anything or picked a name yet ("do you think you're in denial?"). DH certainly in denial - keeps talking about the MacBook he's going to buy that he can't afford ("baby won't cost anything, breastmilk is free")!!

Appear to have put on a kilo in 3 days. Jesus! I know what you mean about being bored of being pregnant - feel like it's time to get on with it!

Jobi1 · 25/11/2010 08:44

Hi everyone, hope all well and that those with BP scares etc are doing ok. hannah is your MW appt today? Good luck xx

I'm ok, pelvis is killing and I'm tired and really grumpy. OH is in the throes of an obsession with Gran Turismo, so if he's not on the forum he wants to sit up and play the game. I feel like the major disuption to the household (after DS) as already bloomin arrived and I'm hacked off with it. No point in going to bed before him because he couldn't not wake me even if he tried and I'm already narky from lack of sleep. I think next time he wants to sit up late I'll just throw the sleeping bag and pillows down and tell him not to come up at all.

Can you tell I'm peed off?!

On the plus side, 2 more days in work. On the downside am wrangling with management over my pension rights. Am sick to death of having to fight for every poxy penny.

Angry

Grrr, I need to cheer up.

Hannah1890 · 25/11/2010 11:03

Thankyou for all the reassurance and advice, sending sympathy to everyone whos suffering which seems to be everyone, think Ive been lucky to manage to miss the sickness,SPD pain and lack of sleep.

Jobi sounds like a good plan re.sleeping bag no surprised your peed off, also really rubbsih about having problems with management hope all gets sorted. 2 more days though yey!!

Also pretty bored of being pregnant had a moan/cry to DH the other day as said I just want half an hour where he's not my responsibility. Afterwards realised how silly that sounded but just feel like everything thats going wrong with pregnancy atm (BP and early waters breaking) is because I'm doing something wrong, would be nice to be able to give him to DH for a bit when feel 'm not doing well lol.

Also planning to pack my hospital bag as people keep saying am tempting fate by not having it already packed, think ill also be taking a trip to argos for a gym ball, thankyou for the reminder sarrita and deedee

MW appt today so hoping that I'll get some sort of answer to how theyre going to monitor me if not able to properly tell me whats going on. But who knows maybe all will be fine!! fingers crossed.

sarrita · 25/11/2010 13:26

jobi! that would drive me mad. Maybe you should join a support group like 'I Hate My Boyfriends Games Console' on Facebook and then get some tips on how to destroy it!

Hope all goes well Hannah, and that DH can give you a bit of a break from it all. Sounds like you need a massage or something...

For those (naturally) fretting about the birth, I found this on the NHS website. It gives you some guidance on your labour/delivery. Might be quite a good read, so you can know what to ask for when you are at the hospital - empower you to ask for help if you are not getting it - or at least know what to expect so you are not dissappointed.

www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/pdf/CG55IPCUNGFINAL.pdf

I'm off to my MW at 2.20 too. I feel very lucky not to have lots of complications; so will be jolly!

Hannah1890 · 25/11/2010 16:27

Just back from MW appt. Very good news! BP decreased a bit although still a bit high and no protein in urine, so although will now be having weekly MW appts to monitor everything, doesn't seem an immediate concern. V V V relieved, MW also commented on babies strong heartbeat and how big he is, made me very happy :) although if he carrys on growing at this rate I may start to panic in a few weeks.

Overall very happy and looking forward to going back to enjoying being pregnant and one last month of peace and quiet. Hopefully will stop moaning now (at least for a few days Wink

Hope everyone else who has had appts today are doing well, and that no-one is suffering with the snow, bit jealous of all those that have it but think thats because Im no longer working so would be able to admire it from my warm living room.

deedee321 · 25/11/2010 17:19

Hannah, that is great news, am so pleased for you! Whew, now you can have well-deserved break from worrying :)!!
Has everyone else got a new-look mumsnet?? Think interface (is that the word?) must have automatically updated on mine.

Jobi1 · 25/11/2010 19:24

Great news Hannah, I'm really pleased for you.
Had a moan at OH and hopefully he's taken it on board. Stupid playstation.
Had a mega stressful day at work & feel really off now. Tum a bit yuck but might just be hungry & tired I suppose. Feeling loads of pressure low down too, which is stressing me out. I'm petrified of going into labour, want my nice calm c section please!

wondersnuffle · 25/11/2010 20:28

That is very good news Hannah, I don't think it's that unusual to be bored of being pregnant by this stage even when there aren't any health worries. Hope you have a very boring month ahead of you now Smile.

jobi that would drive me mad but at least if hes on the playstation he's not on the computer, DP and I both want to use the computer at the same time so we're working on a shift system these days. I need more mumsnet time!

beijingaling The belly button should return to normal afterwards - it shouldn't be forever!

macmomo it must be difficult to get your head round the whole baby thing when you're away from home and DH, I'm sure it'll sink in more once you're back in your own environment.

sarrita definitely a good plan to be informed, my work colleague was told by her MW what she would be allowed to do in certain circumstances - obviously it'd be foolish to go against medical advice but I think it's worth knowing that it is advice, they can't issue orders.

deedee no sign of any changes here but I think I use an old version anyway so I'm probably set not to do updates, might have to see what's on offer these days!

sarrita · 25/11/2010 21:08

That is grrrrreat Hannah. Now try and relax and enjoy the relative peace...

MW appoint was all good. Blood tests in 2 wks. It is good having this tread as all my niggles are just that - niggles. The MW kept saying so 'anything you want to tell us [had trainee there] - anything at all? You're feeling fine?' Since I can off load here, and get it in perspective - I was just feeling relieved all's well.

mamasunshine · 25/11/2010 21:19

Hello Smile

Great news hannah - it's nice to have the reasurrance so you can worry less and try and enjoy the pg more. And they'll pick any problems up with weekly checks, so that's great Smile

Well after a VVV stressful 5 wks with this pg, all is at last well Grin I am SOOOOOOOOO relieved! Had a growth scan this afternoon, fluid checked etc, and the polyhydramnios has self-corrected Grin So no more embarressing bum in air and ambulance if waters break Grin No more talk of induction, or caesarean...back to my lovely, relaxing homebirth...yay!! I am beyond excited now I can concentrate on motivating myself for the birth - I cannot wait!! But she is a whopper, she's on the 90th centile for growth and weight today was 5lb5 Confused Bearing in mind I've had a 3lb6 baby and a 6lb13 one she is going to be HUGE!

Sorry for me me post, going to catch up now...bear with me Smile

Also no hospital bag packed yet, so may start thinking about that soon, oh and still need to buy lots of bits for baby!

LadyBuzz · 25/11/2010 21:59

mamasunshine and hannah great news for both of you. At least you can relax for a while!

I had both blood and prtein traces today but BP is normal and everything else is fine so nothing much to worry about.

This one is a little bugger though she kicks constantly and because she is breech it is really painful.

mamasunshine · 25/11/2010 22:13

Phew, started getting blurry eyed towards the end, so apologies for all that I've missed!

Hope all's ok with you amberc?
ladybuzz - ds1 (2.8) talks about his baby sister growing bigger in mummy's tummy all the time Grin and how he's going to help change nappies/give cuddles etc!
roxieP - prob a bit late now! But had EMCS with ds1 so waters broken then, ds2 had waters boken for me at 5cm's as slow progress. I don't think it's common for them to break until well into established labour?

stenogirl - How long did it take for you to hear back about MA? I only posted my form on Mon (a bit late!) I'm sure they'll be a weekly bf group in your local area. Great to meet new mummy friends, and to build up confidence bf out and about etc Smile
stardown - Hope all's going ok with yoour eventful pg? How's your dp doing now?

postmodern - How's the pain now? Hope it's eased, must be v scary. I have quite regular pains but not to that extent, but does make me Hmm sometimes.
Congrats and welcome loubaby1 Smile
macmomo - how ru doing? Really feel for you being away from home, when will you be finishing work? I'm with you on the slings and nappy confusion Confused...I THINK I'm going for bumgenius nappies and I have a kari-me stretchy sling.
sarrita - the growbag beanbag is an excellent idea for those bf nights!
jobi1 - Did I read you were having baby xmas eve? Smile
readyornot - great news on your dh's pilot job, must be a relief! But v Sad about your sil, how awful. Must be v difficult for you.
mummychicken - Grin at wind...made me giggle!
superparty - hello Smile sorry you're suffering, roll on the last day of work!

32+3 and have gained 27lb's Shock
Halfway innie/outie!
Lots and lots of BH's, also very painful under ribs where the beafy baby is digging into me! Thinking of stopping work on the 8th Dec, it's an hour's drive there and back, so long days - even though only 2 a wk! Hope you're all well? How's everyone getting on with Xmas shopping? I really must start soon!

Jobi1 · 26/11/2010 09:00

Hi everyone Smile

Last day at work, woo hoo!!

Am 34+6 today . Forgot to say before, pretty definite outy and mines normally very in! Last time the same and went back to normal pretty quickly. Am up 26lbs which I think is ok, definitely better than last time. Am hoping now it will tail off a bit. Hopefully not being in work will help, will probably be a bit more active, less tired and less snacky.

Had a massive BH in bed last night, quite scared me! Am going to start getting bag organised, I need a trip to boots to stock up on all the essentials.

Hopefully once I've got through today, which is bound to be stressful, I can relax a bit and get more organised!

Happy Friday!

deedee321 · 26/11/2010 09:31

Happy last day jobi1, am jealous :)!!

LadyBuzz · 26/11/2010 10:36

jobi i'm jelous too!

I really need to get myself into gear and get shopping for my hospital bag, I'm only 31 + 3 though so i'm hoping not to need it any time soon - still best to be ready - so far I have breast pads and they were left over from DS2 Grin

I do have plenty of stuff for babybuzz though - maybe I will start with her bag!

Hannah1890 · 26/11/2010 12:57

Yey mamasunshine really glad everything has turned around and is going well for you! and for you too sarrita glad everything still all fine.

Hope your last day is going well jobi maybe good timing for last day of work with strong BH starting lol.

Also need to get on with packing hospital bag, wanted to ask if anyone knows if it matters how big bag is or if I take 2 smaller ones? Dont want to take too much stuff than theres room for but also we don't have a car so dont want to leave anything important behind. Have most of the things to go in bags but no bag as of yet.

mamasunshine no christmas shopping done here, tried to go in at the weekend and town was just to crazy and horrible so I gave up. DH has now offered to take half a day off work to come shopping as needs to use up his leave, means I at least wont have to carry any bags :)

littlehuman · 26/11/2010 13:41

hi everyone
35 weeks today
doing alright i suppose for my state

sarrita jobi i love the idea od "the i hate my dh games console group" lol

WalkTheDog · 26/11/2010 13:52

Great news hannah and mamasunshine.

Enjoy the freedom from work jobi

Pretty sure baby has moved (hope in right direction) as bump looking quite different over last two days. OH reckons it has got bigger each of last two days. Am starting to waddle unless I really concerntrate.

Have almost finished packing hospital bags. Very complicated as don't know if I will be in local MLU and discharged quickly or be in hospital a fair distance away and be there for a few days. Have ended up with three bags!

mummychicken · 26/11/2010 18:57

Fuckity Fuck!

33+6

MW appointment to day and have glucose +++

Have to fast, have glucose drink and have blood tests on Sunday morning.

Cried all the way home - however, now have it in perspective - it could be nothing and at least the baby is fine. It is just my old 39 year old body that can't cope

OP posts:
deedee321 · 26/11/2010 20:10

mummychicken ((())), poor you, that sounds very stressful. What does high glucose content mean? Am so sorry you have this worry, will be thinking of you on Sunday and hoping results are clear.

Hannah1890 · 26/11/2010 20:16

Oh no mummychicken how rubbish, glad baby is fine thats the most important thing, also good that doing blood tests on Sunday so not too far away, just an extra thing to worry about, really hope all goes well.

beijingaling · 27/11/2010 07:58

Hi Ladies,

Have you packed your hospital bags yet? DH is saying I have to but to be honest I've been putting it off. What's in yours if you have packed it? I'm 34+3.

mummychicken I'm sure everything will be fine. Your MW & drs will keep a close eye on you and as you said, the main thing is the baby is fine!

Hope everyone is feeling well.

mummychicken · 27/11/2010 08:18

deedee Glucose in wee is a sign of gestational diabetes. The main risks are having a big/fat baby which has a high risk of obesity later in life. However, I don't have a big baby.
