Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Don't know, mine started large, got larger when pregnant with dd, I bottle fed but didn't loose much bust and they have gone larger still this pregnancy. Will try breast feeding and hope that they shrink a little this timne round. Otherwise I may be applying for a reduction on the NHS to save my back.

jessysmummy · 07/09/2005 20:55

Mine have always been on the large side too - then went huge when pregnant and larger still while breast feeding. Hadn't really had time to settle back to 'normal' before I got pregnant again so afraid I don't know yet LadyL - I'm hoping they shrink to a more manageable size!

Redhelen · 07/09/2005 21:44

Oh dear dh no happy with the football!

Still trying relentlessly to get baby to come out - and despite cramps and bad back all day - no sign so far!

Good night - sleep wellxx

milward · 07/09/2005 22:16

For a bf bra - best time to get measured is after 36 weeks when the rib cage will be at it's largest. For the cup size - if you can comfortably slide 4 fingers into the sides of the cup it should be ok after engorgement. To get through engorgement, when the milk comes in, could get a larger cup bra (bit pricey) or just knot a tee-shirt for dh/dp between the breasts and roll it up underneath to give support. Not very glam but comfy.

pooka · 08/09/2005 00:36

I think that since you're supposed to normally wear bras on their smallest back and strap adjustment, a properly fitted nursing bra should be able to cope with engorgement on the largest fitting, with you being able to adjust it to make it smaller as the engorgement eases.

Redhelen · 08/09/2005 01:54

Don't know which hurts more the back ache or stomach cramps = keep trying to get comfortable!! Right back to bed to try again!! xxx

andif · 08/09/2005 05:35

Another early morning!
Still no news from Franch - hope all OK.
In foul mood last night. Dh late home again, didn't pick up Gaviscon I had asked for so I had to go out when he got home in lots of pain with pelvis. Then when I got back the kids were still up watching the roadworks outside the house!!! He won't be the one who has to cope with them after school today when they're tired and horrible. He then proceeded to spend most of the evening on the computer sorting out mini-rugby. Think he's bored with me being pregnant, but then how am I supposed to feel.....From now on he gets to know about every ache and pain so he realises how fed up I am - no more being a martyr

andif · 08/09/2005 05:41

On the boobs thing, think it depends how long you breastfeed. Friends who breastfed for a year have ended up with much smaller boobs. Mine seem a bit smaller than pre-kids, but maybe because making more effort to be fitted properly for bras and have got used to big boobs after being in denial for years!! That awful post-feeding sagginess does go though...(she says, 6 years on.....)

pooka · 08/09/2005 08:19

Still no news from Franch - hope she's OK.
Looks like you were a nightowl last night too, Redhelen.
Finally decided "right that's it" and tried last ditch attempt to get baby out with dh . Had cramps for ages, slept, then more cramps, then more dozing. And here I am, still here, majorly fed up now and knackered. Should give up really and just accept that the baby is going to come when it's ready. But am so uncomfortable - feel like I'm about to burst and not looking forward to a day of entertaining dd. Also seem to be fairly successful one minute in getting baby into a better position, only for it to move the next back into the back to back position. Very contrary!
Anyway - moan over. Going to make the strongest coffee I can.

mummyhill · 08/09/2005 08:21

Bahhh start, stop, start, stop, start, stop. Stop messing me about and come out to play baby please.

DD got told off for throwing things at me yesterday and whilst she was crying on the bottom step where daddy ahd firmly placed her she decided that she wanted to hold the new baby, bit difficult when it hasn't arrived yet.

Hope everyone else is ok, I am going for some long walks over the next few days to see if gravity will help a bit.

pooka · 08/09/2005 09:41

Get out get out get out get out!

KiwiKate · 08/09/2005 09:42

For those who are overdue. In the past week I've spoken to two mums who went overdue. Both avoided induction. The first said Caster Oil worked for her. THe second said it was fresh pineapple that did it (she'd been induced 3 times previously!). Both were already a couple of weeks overdue, however, by the time these "remedies" worked for them.

mummyhill · 08/09/2005 09:43

Girls and boys come out to play, your mums and dads can't wait to meet you and your siblings can't wait to torment you!!!!

KiwiKate · 08/09/2005 11:58

More "natural induction" methods here
OWWW to the nipple "stimulation" section!

RedZuleika · 08/09/2005 12:03

Can't keep up with this thread... image of RZ running along huffing and puffing, as after a disappearing train - like Frank Sinatra in the closing moments of 'Von Ryan's Express'...

andif · 08/09/2005 12:11

No news from Boompi or Franch - keep obsessively checking MN for news. Really must get a life

mummyhill · 08/09/2005 12:38

RZ - I am lucky in that I just leave it open on broadband and take a look everytime I walk past the computer.

Andif - I think i need to get a life as well honey so don't worry you aren't the only one.

Katts - Don't worry baby will be fine wether you follow GF or not. Some people find following her routine to be good for them but many of us just go with the flow. There have been many threads about ms Ford and her methods search the archives if you can be bothered. With your first it is really nice to just go with the flow and adapt your routine to baby, with subsequent children though they have to fiut into the routine that has already been established. Try reading the baby whisperer for a more balanced view. At the end of the day though go with your instincts because you will know your child better than anyone else.

diane77 · 08/09/2005 12:56

hi all

still here to, membrane sweep so far hasny had any effect. I ended up having a migrane last night which was horrible its been a long time since my last one 4 years ago just before i got married, im putting it down to stress, i had a bloody awful day yesterday with dd. Hope everyone is well and we hear news soon of the next september addition.

ei23mummy · 08/09/2005 13:04

hi ladies just popped in from the dec 05 thread to wish you all GOOD LUCK for your iminent births!! woohoo how exciting im so as i cant wait for mine to be born!!
oh and on the subject of natural remedies for labour my friend highly recommends rasberry leaf tea as it brought both of her babies after drinking it for one day!!-she was a week late for her first and a week early fro her second!! good luck anyway!!

LadyLazarus · 08/09/2005 13:30

Katts - aww your poor cat! Sounds pretty horrendous to have even one tooth removed let alone seven. Hope you are pampering him / her!

andif - yes I feel like I have no life sometimes too! The highlight of my day is checking on here and seeing who's had their baby. Soon will change I expect, when we hardly have any time to even look at the computer!

No news from Boompi or Franch.. fingers crossed

jessysmummy · 08/09/2005 13:45

Oooh! do you think Boompi and Framch juniors may have appeared?Wow, how exciting.
Just had a friend to visit with DD (3.5yr) and DS (16mth). When one wasn't moaning and crying, the other one was. Made me wonder "What have I done? How will I cope with 2?" but too late to go back now! hae consoled self with fact that her DD has always been a bit of a madam while my DD is relatively well behaved...so far!
Hope everyone ok and not too achey.
Andif - DH would have unfortunately been the target of a mini strop by now. You make sure he knows how bad you're feeling - No point in suffering in silence.
Mummyhill & Pooka - hope not too fed up. At least you're a bit further down the line than most of us though the start/stop thing must be quite frustrating. Hope you get some action soon.

franch · 08/09/2005 13:57

Hi all - lovely to see you're all thinking of me and Boompi, no news here though I'm afraid

The good news though is that I went for a scan yesterday (with a heavy heart, expecting the worst) and encountered yet more lovely people - this experience really is a world away from the hosp I used last time. The baby is absolutely fine - fluid somewhat reduced, of course, but not dangerously so. The consultant mw came with me and DH to chat to the consultant obstetrician, who was very much on our wavelength, unworried about the situation and happy with our decision to proceed slowly and give baby a chance before going down the induction route. Also agreed to some monitoring and again, the baby is very well. The trace also revealed I was having contractions every 10 mins! So I went home far, far happier - which was certainly not what I'd expected.

Had acupuncture in the evening, and started having very frequent contractions during the session (about 1 min apart, and lasting about 1 min) - some quite intense, but still no pain. These continued all the way home (I walked), and started up again later when I was watching TV. I'm afraid I couldn't help getting excited again as this felt very different to my other false alarms - was convinced it was all going to happen during the night. Of course it didn't - everything went quiet - but at least the upside of that was that I got my first night's sleep since Friday.

The contractions started up again this morning and have been going on and off, but still nothing painful so I guess this could go on indefinitely. We agreed with the consultant that we'd give this thing till Monday (when I'll be 41 weeks), so the clock is still ticking but not quite as fast as it was.

Have to dash off as DD's just gone down for her nap - my chance to get in a bit more sleep in case the little one really is on her way. Thanks again for your concern everyone, I'll update again asap - and good luck as ever to you all, you'll probably have news before I do

Thanks ei23mummy - Been drinking rasberry leaf tea for 2 weeks - but sadly no baby as yet!!!but hoping it speeds labour when the times right!!!

Just got up! Can sleep fine durring the day - but struggle at night, but I feel chilled durring the day and full of panic at night - is any one else like this??! andif glad I'm not the only one who's Dh is driving me mad - he moves between fantastically supportive and snapping at me!

Every one keeps saying - nearly over/baby nearly here - but I do wonder if I'm having an elephant - are they nocturnal?! (and I've certainly got the legs for it - well 2 of anyway!!)
