Aloha's met her deadline!

Aloha's daughter arrived at 11.08 this morning, weighing eight pounds.

Not exactly a smooth journey - having postponed her C-section on account of flu, Aloha ended up going to King's anyway last night and then enduring nine hours which, she says, "have fully confirmed all her worst fears about labour". She was finally admitted to the labour ward, given the blessed relief of anaesthetic and, at last, her section.

Babealoha, however (no name yet) is obviously a total delight; apparently she feeds beautifully, looks like a peach, and is absolutely adorable.

I'm sure the proud mummy will be on as soon as she can be - she's certainly dying to get out of hospital!

eemie · 10/02/2005 10:05

Every joy to you aloha, and congratulations to the new big brother and big sister.

My girl was the same, when she wanted out she wanted out now. Kind of set the pace for the next six years.

Lots if love

flashingnose · 10/02/2005 10:23

Hello! I'm home and it's wonderful! Baby (still no name, what are we like?) is exceptionally beautiful, feeds fantastically well, sleeps amazingly well (so far!) - slept for four and a half hours and two lots of two hours last night - BIG change from ds - and is just perfect and lovely and gorgeous and we all love her very much. Very, very happy.
Great team doing the section, surprisingly good after-care but will be having a word or two with the head of midwifery about being left completely alone in the most appalling agony from 2am until 8am (when dh was allowed back into the hospital) and despite tears and begging for pain relief was repeatedly told by a hatchet faced harridan who refused even to get off her arse at the midwives' station, 'It's just backache' - yeah, which is why when I was monitored at just after 8am the contractions were going off the top of the chart, eh? That night was undoubtedly the worst of my life. It was like being tortured. Barbaric. Luckily all the stress has not affected dd, who seems wonderfully serene. Ds not absolutely convinced, I think, but has hugged and kissed his baby sister in very touching way.
Thanks for all your good wishes! Off for a bit of a sleep.

aloha · 10/02/2005 14:35

Wishing eternal damnation to hatched-faced midwife.

Willow2 · 10/02/2005 20:32

Oh bless, a full set. How lovely.

emmatmg · 10/02/2005 20:32

Awww, a lovely post for you aloha.

Congratulations again.

Willow2 · 10/02/2005 20:33

PS: take out the midwife from hell - make sure she never works at that hospital again.

Posey · 10/02/2005 20:44

Congratulations. Can just smell that newborn sleepy baby, which makes all the pain worthwhile. Welcome to your little one.

HeyEnidYouveLostWeight · 11/02/2005 08:12

oh you lucky lucky thing she sounds gorgeous.

Outrageous behaviour at the hospital, make sure you write and try and sort it out - will make you feel better as I am sure you know! x E

Schmozer · 11/02/2005 20:11

Well done Aloha and babe. Do complain about that midwife - I endured hours of back labour, and it's certainly not 'just backache'.

Surfermum · 11/02/2005 20:15

Congratulations Aloha and welcome little Alohetta.

jabberwocky · 11/02/2005 20:20

Congrats again, Aloha!! I too had horrible constant back pain during labour. Lodge a complaint when you're up to it. I did and it made me feel loads better .
