Well, baby bez is finally here.

Thank god i had a lovely independent midwife so was able to avoid induction, altho i must admit in the end i was half hoping i would be "made" to have an induction as i was so fed up.

at 43 weeks and 4 days baby Leon finally arrived, weighing 8lb 2 after an hour of contractions.

So after being terrified of the pain and starting the pain of childbirth thread, panicking I wouldnt cope without an epidural, I had a completely natural birth, delivering leon on my own as there was no time to get assistance and dp was out and I did nothing for the pain but scream!

Aughghghgh! How exciting! An after 43+ weeks to get organised I'd have thought you would have found time to make sure there was someone with you

Hi everyone, heres the eagerly awaited details, as much as I can recall as still in shock.

As those of you who posted on my pain of childbirth thread will know, the babys head crowning was the bit I feared most, but I didnt feel stinging, just terrible contractions which I found I could cope with as I could push the pain away.

I didnt realise my mobile was by the side of me and by some huge stroke of fortune it rang just as I was crowning so that alerted me to the fact I could make a call.

I then cut the incoming call dead, somehow managed to think clearly for long enough to remember mws number and she arrived just as the placenta was being delivered after getting a key from the neighbour to let herself in so she dealt with the cord.

I'm not sure if she was more surprised or I was.

I must say I feel quite proud of myself but it was so disappointing that dp missed out on it and there was nobody to take photos or film the event.
