Bo's death. An update

Well, we finally got a letter today from the hospital responding to our questions in writing. I'd left it for a while before chasing them. I 'phoned the Patient's Liaison bod yesterday morning and seven hours later got a real 'Cheques in the post. Oh! you haven't received it yet?' Response.

I won't go into long drawn-out details here. Those of you who may have followed the story know what happened. After the enquiry meeting I came away feeling like crap but also positive that a bleep-holding supernumerary MW would be reinstated to ensure that such a fatal fk up would not happen again. The letter we got today said that the hospital is 'reviewing reinstating a bleep-holder' Not the same thing and I'm sure they're hoping they never hear from us again. Call me cynical but I believe they have no intention of reinstating this vital role, costs a bit and heck! Let's use the money for yet another meaningless layer of middle-management

I've discussed it with Mr Bubble and I'm contacting Susan Kramer who is our local MP tomorrow to make a big, stinky noise about this.

Tears again today, I expected it but it still feels like a knifewound.

Wotcha Bubb (and Mr. Bubb if he's around),

I've been keeping a low profile and tending to Queen Dee and contemplating all the baby bitsies (do I really need a cupboard / chest of drawers ?)

The Thousand Bump March would be a fab concept for a message to parliament. I am still happy to brainstorm this with you and dh / any MNers who care to actively organise this. You'll remember there were loads of offers / assistance etc. in one of your earlier threads. Can you imagine the powerful imagery of row upon row of Angry Bump ?

XXX

Do you remember, I said I'd also contacted the Guinness Book of Records re: Most Women Breastfeeding at Once, and that could be another 'high visibility', 'high interest generating' event that might supplement a general campaign to raise the profile of understaffing in maternity health care. Needs 1100 woman to be feeding at once. (appreciate this is somewhat outside the 'core' message, but it could still perhaps be relevant).

Anyway, good luck with the MP actions, and the nurseries, and the healing - for you and Mr. Bubb too. I can imagine how insanely proud he would have been buying, and planning to use, that double buggy.

Hey, I missed that Black Sabbath dance number hope you were great.
