i know everybody’s grief is different but just interested in different experiences … we lay to rest my DDad tomorrow- we were very close & I nursed him through to the end.. so far my grief has been more manageable than I expected.. perhaps I did lots of my grieving in advance.. how did you feel the day after your parent’s funeral - specifically parents as can imagine it’s very different when it’s someone you actually lived with such as a spouse or of course a child. Thank you

Almost a sense of disbelief: my DF died very suddenly and unexpectedly in his sixties. I just remember thinking that people would think I was a cold hearted daughter because I didn’t shed a tear at his funeral: the truth was, I just couldn’t believe he was really dead.

Both my parents had been ill and needed 24/7 care for years and years. But it was a horrible shock when DM died suddenly from an unrelated cause.

I felt massive relief after the funeral and have been in an appalling state ever since. I don’t miss my mum, she died as a blessing to her if not us, but I’ve been hit by huge fear, isolation and vulnerability.

Really tired and very flat at the prospect of another lifetime without my mum. She was only 60 and I was 38. It's flown by though, that was a decade ago.
