My DH passed away in October last year , I only got the coroners report last week and registered DH death yesterday .
Now I want to scatted / bury his ashes but I do not know where I am allowed to or what the procedure is , has any one done this , were their any problems ?
My biggest worry is that I will be half way though scattering them and some official will come up to me and say you cant do that there and here is a big fine for trying to , has that ever happened to any one ? Thanks to annandale I have had a look at a website called Scattering Ashes which is very good but I would like to here some personal ideas and storys

whoever asked about gold jewellery, 'ashes into glass' do gold items. My mum got a ring made for well under £500 it's lovely and includes an inscription.
I'm really surprised about ashes 'blowing away' dads ashes are very course, almost like a fine gravel.
we put them in a pot with a rose bush in the garden, but I'm sure they wouldn't have blown had we scattered them.
Sounds lovely what you did @Angie169

*MyGuideJools - yes I was surprised the ashes blew away, but they were a totally different texture to that of my parents, which, like yours, were like fine gravel and quite heavy. My brothers were like wood ash, and there were very few heavy bits. I can only conclude it varies from crem to crem.
I used the company 'Scattering Ashes' to have two engraved glass hearts made for his daughters, so that they always have a bit of him with them.

Just wanted to bring this up to date. I scattered some of my DH's ashes at sea on a cruise in the summer. I had already got permission from cruise line to do it. The ship's chaplain arranged everything and it was just lovely. And last month our family went to DH's favourite place in the Lake District and scattered the rest, with no problems at all. And afterwards we repaired to the nearest hostelry and drank to his memory.
