say a resounding 'AYE'

Its bloody bloody hard and its HORRIBLE and there is no bloody reward like there is with toddlers

and all your ideals about how you will be go out the window

and you say stuff you vowed you wouldn't

and all your liberalism disappears

and they answer you back- dont wash and dont tidy

they smirk when you bollock them

and life is one long restraint from telling them to ' f&*% off'

vent over

toddlers are easier

discuss

What, full blown rolling on the floor, kicking your feet, banging your fist tantrums? That must be funny!

NotAnOtter · 27/09/2008 00:15

no

No more like banging doors, using the word shit a little too much.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 27/09/2008 12:33

PMSL! NOA that photo is my dd.

Teen girls deffo worse than boys. And custy - I know the feeling - I love my eldest to bits but it's time he was gone.

aGalChangedHerName · 27/09/2008 12:44

God i love my teen ds1. Is lovely and helps me massivly with my dd's who are 4 and 2yrs.

Has a lovely GF and loads of mates. Has a part tme job/staying on for 6th year.

Nothing hard about him tbh. My ds2 is nearly 13 and i think we may have a hard time with him,not as sensible as ds1 so far lol

Would swap my lo's for a couple of bigger ones atm.

Lalisa · 27/09/2008 13:20

oh, please say it isnt so notanotter...
you have just described my 4yr old. If she's worse as a teenager I dont know who will leave home first

omg ~Saggars is it????

DS1 is in 1st year 6th and i am actually dreading him leaving and keep trying to tempt him to go to Leeds University and live in our basement flat ( currently a wet cellar)

tonight owever he has behaved quite annoyingly and arrogant up his own jacksy and sightly mimicking when i try to bollock him and huff and puff when i ask him to help.............still better than dd though,,who still managed to be a wee bit stroppy despite the fact that the WHOLE family were helping to decorate her pit room...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just read OP

Toddlers are a piece of piss compared to older children

really

MrsWeasley · 27/09/2008 21:52

my 13 year old has more tantrums than all my DCs toddler tantrums put together and then we have the attitude and the "my friends are allowed..........blah blah blah"

Toddlers are so much easier IMHO

AbbeyA · 27/09/2008 22:03

Toddlers are less of a worry-you can put them to bed at night and know that they are safe!

GodzillasBumcheek · 28/09/2008 10:42

Yes, thinking about it, i say to DD3 (toddler) at 7.30pm 'it's bedtime now', and she may tantrum, but she will eventually calm down and go.

DTD1 and DTD2 at 11 yo will still want to be out on the street at that time, even if it's pitch black and the streets are crawling with muggers, dealers and other sinister sorts - no thought for their own safety. And they will sulk and whinge for hours about it. Possibly well into the next day.

barbarianoftheuniverse · 28/09/2008 11:27

12 +13 + 14 is tough but after that they develope a sense of humour.
My 15 manages my 11 far better than I can. And cuts grass. And is funny and kind (and out at an all night party and hasn't rung and his phone is switched off as usual but that's another story).
