say a resounding 'AYE'

Its bloody bloody hard and its HORRIBLE and there is no bloody reward like there is with toddlers

and all your ideals about how you will be go out the window

and you say stuff you vowed you wouldn't

and all your liberalism disappears

and they answer you back- dont wash and dont tidy

they smirk when you bollock them

and life is one long restraint from telling them to ' f&*% off'

vent over

toddlers are easier

discuss

i would take teens over toddlers anyday.

today in conversation i mentioned that dd's bf (she is 15 he is 16) would be staying over tomorrow night. ovbiously in seperate rooms.

her twin brother said " no -one asked me about this!"

"thats because you live in a matriarchy dear, when ever did i give you the impression it was a democracy?" i replied.

god i love those moments.

i could write all day about my teens - love 'em and hate 'em but love em more - er no hate em more

I'm wondering if, by the time the littlies get to be teenagers, I can legitimately send them to the current teenager, who will by then be all growed up.

Let her deal with them, I'll be down the pub

coochybottom · 26/09/2008 23:04

Always wanted a daughter, got 3 boys. Sounds like I got lucky. So, all them mums with little girls who look at my little boy terrors in shock have got it all to come then!!!

NotAnOtter · 26/09/2008 23:06

Squonk - dp and i have serious fantasies conversations about the prospect of such!!!

coochy - i have 5 boys and i secretly want to say to mums of girls all pretty and quiet and easy.........your time will come!!!

my dd is double the work of the other5!

I think boy toddlers are harder work than girl toddlers.

Teenagers in general are harder work that toddlers.

Girl teenagers are demons sent from the pits of hades to test our strength and resilience, whereas boy teenagers are someone else's problem ok really

NotAnOtter · 26/09/2008 23:10

boy teenagers ....not angels but kind of bearable

girl

dd on the other hand is literally snoring and ebing sulky ebcuase he bf went home

boo fucking hoo

however, i would like to say that gilrs are harder - and i think that overall they are but my eldest son and i - oh boy... i can't ellyou how much i adore him, but i wish he would leave home now

bellabelly · 26/09/2008 23:36

God, my toddlers (13 months - twins) already smirk when I tell em off, do you mean to say it gets worse?!

fryalot · 26/09/2008 23:37

bellabelly - you'll look back on this time as the golden age

saint2shoes · 26/09/2008 23:39

NO
ds is fun
I acn have a sensible conversation with him.
he is taller than me,
he has brilliant taste in music,
the list goes on and on.
but no todders are ok but teens rock

fryalot · 26/09/2008 23:42

saint2shoes · 26/09/2008 23:44

Nooo! Just my experience but I had an impossible toddler who turned into a teen angel. However she is unusual.

AbstractMouse · 26/09/2008 23:52

Ohg god I actually look at teens and think "I will have them one day" It is a bit fucking scary.

I have a niece who is 8, and I find it so hard to believe that she will soon start periods etc aaaaargh she can't she's still a baby, (keep's having babies to stave off the not wanted years lol)

AbstractMouse · 26/09/2008 23:55

Are girl teenagers so much worse than boys?

NotAnOtter · 26/09/2008 23:58

My oldest is 12 my youngest is 3. I am so loving the 12 year old and enjoying the 'calm before the storm', but I still think it will be more interesting than boring old toddler tantrums.

NotAnOtter · 27/09/2008 00:04

Sorry janni but you still get those
