Have been wondering about this for ages

Pretty much since he could talk ds1 has talked about his 'other' house, his 'other' mummy and daddy and his 'other' grandma. not with any sadness just in a matter of fact sort of way. Sometimes he points out big houses and says thats like my other house

as he's gettin older he's saying more elaborate things like, I used to live in my big house with my grandma but now i live in your house

obviously i find it quite hurtful when he talks about his other mummy and daddy but would never show that to him

should i try and get him to tell me more about it or just ignore it as he'll grow out of it as he gets older?

DS used to tell intricate stories of 'before I was born' - things he used to say, eat etc.
Also once a really detailed description of a church he liked to sit in - including a description of the sun coming through the narrow window onto the stne floor...
Much talk of 'my other father' (!)!

How he used to live in a place called 'The Waters of Harmond' where quite often the water would rise out of the stream and follow them all down the hill....

he used to experience 'night terrors' quite a lot - and his 'hyper-reality' stories often croppeed up at times he was very tired or else anxious. After a bit of a break we had lots and lots of it when he started reception.

Recently he has been in hospital - and from the things he has been telling me, he is hallucinating at night. I used to hallucinate as a young child - i had no idea how to talk to anyone about it but i have absolutely vivid memories of 'things really happening' that i know were actually in my mind.

absolutely amazing his story, thank you for sharing that. the details of the church and the sun coming through a window...even the name of the place! it would give me goose bumps if i was listening to him!

i have had night terrors before, they are awful. but no recollection of past lives. from the energetic point of view, night terrors happen for people that absorb too much from others. for example, if i see too many people in a short period, im likely to have one.

i hope your little boy is well (re: hospital)

Thanks Jabuti - he's doing pretty well.

I am sure it is his imagination and confusion about reality, because once he became obsessed with aliens, in a 5 year-old boy sort of way, many of his recounted 'true life experiences' started to feature aliens. The 'other father' beccame an alien who came down into my tummy when I was pregnant....'don't you remember that day, mummy? I was in your tummy and a blue light, shining very strongly, shone down and right through your tummy. That was my alien father'.

When he had a very religious nursery teacher he used to visit the place he was dead in - he could see the place in the sky - heaven - and when he was dead there the other nursery children used to float up on their chairs and visit him.

Thanks Jabuti - he's doing fince

my dd talks about her sister marjorie who died when she was 18!

I knew a woman that had a toddler who told her about the time he was her dog and got cold paws in the snow and she had to pick him up...She did do all of that - many years before the child was born! he knew nothing about the gog at all, except what he'd told her!

beansontoast · 01/07/2008 20:43

omg...my ds now 4 1/2 has a whole other life..

lived on a farm.lots of brothers (including a set of twins)and sisters, mum called helen, dad called jack..

he described his other mum as wearing a headband (my word)...but once she hurrt her leg and tied it round it

he has said so so so so much more but i cannot remember it all.

what he describes is dp's mother's family...so ds would have been (?)a sibling to his nanny?

i am a complete sceptic (usually)...it doesnt bother me on a personal level...i let him talk freely no problem

however he does sometimes say spookily detailed and accurate stuff.

my mil is polish and 'is into' all that sort of stuff...i wouldnt dare tell her what ds has been saying incase she tells him he has teh gift or wotnot!

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but was wondering if pheebe was still around and if her ds1 still talked about these things.
I was looking into past life as my 3 yr old ds2 has been talking about his other dad and mum for quite a while and come out with more and more detail about them, he also talks about his sister who was naughty and used to hit him and his other brother and hurt them!

im not sure if its his imagination or not. scince he was born his dad had said he is an old soul and has just known how to do things were his brother had to be shown how to do some things.

anyway, was thinking if the people on this thread a couple of years ago had got any further with their children talking about their past lives?

thankyou
