I don't know what the average age is for teeth but ds is nearly 8mo and no sign at all of any teeth yet so I might be joining you...

NorthernLurker · 19/06/2008 21:27

Bump for Dippy and her toothless babes

bozza · 19/06/2008 21:28

I will have to start the opposite one then. Both mine had a full set well before they were two. DS (7) is well on with his second set as well. And DD (just 4) tried to join in by going over her handlebars (how do you do that on a trike ) and making one wobbly.

Hulababy · 19/06/2008 21:28

DD got her first tooth at 13 months, which I felt was really late. One of my first MN points was about it infact!

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2008 21:28

Thank you NL

Rock on Dalrymps little DS!!

My Ds has just finally got a tiny bit of his first tooth out today.

He is just turned 1....

We have been calling him "the toothless wonder"

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2008 21:30

Get off bozzer!!!

Welcme Hulababy - have you any other DCs - could you pray tell me about their dental development?

Neeerly3 · 19/06/2008 21:32

dippy, how old? My DT's were 17 months when they cut their first tooth a day apart....

Neeerly3 · 19/06/2008 21:34

well do i win, do i win?!

Hulababy · 19/06/2008 21:34

No, no other children sadly.

Friendlypizzaeater · 19/06/2008 21:34

My LO was 13.5 months when he cut his teeth and he cut 3 in one go - 2 of them molars - his front teeth followed about a month later - my HV said its better and the milk teeth will last longer.

NorthernLurker · 19/06/2008 21:35

17 months - and both at the same time - bet that was fun (not)

Oh sorry Dippy - I don't belong here - I'll slink off back to my ivoried baby

Hulababy · 19/06/2008 21:35

When DD's teeth did finally come they came all in wrong order - she got her two top teeth first, and then lots of others, except for the bottom wo middle teeth. Ended up at dental hospital having gums all checked. Did finally come through but a bit squished up as not enough room left.

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2008 21:36

Gerrrr-off ......

Just think how much the tooth fairy will have inflated her prices by, by the time you lot are starting to fork out.

Neeerly3 · 19/06/2008 21:38

NL - fun is not the word i would use no!

They had been 'teething' since they were six months - one would dribble, "ooo he's teething", the other would get red cheeks "aww won't be long now" We got so bored of waiting we nearly missed the arrival. Also meant they were on puree's til then too! My blender was well used!

silverfrog · 19/06/2008 21:40

dd2 was nearly a year when she cut her first tooth, and then nothing at all until yesterday when the very tip of a top tooth is finally peeking through. She is 16 months.

bozza · 19/06/2008 21:40

hula your DD beats mine on hair growth though. If only her hair would grow as fast as her teeth.....

Neeerly3 · 19/06/2008 21:40

apparently i didn't teethe til I was 14 months, so was kinda expecting them to be late, I also didn't loose my last milk tooth til I was 16 years old - so tooth fairy will be employed for a long while yet.

Hulababy · 19/06/2008 21:45

Thanks CaptainDippy

She is not hapy now though. late teeth, I assume anyway, is meaning she is not losing her teeth now. She is only child in her class to have not lost a tooth yet - and she isn't impressed! Think she is keen for a visit from the tooth fairy.

Hulababy · 19/06/2008 21:48

She has had most of her hair cut off now. It is just above shoulder length now; was shorter around Easter time. Has thickened it up nicely from being cut though, or seems ot have. She didn;t get much hair before 18 months though.

bozza · 19/06/2008 21:50

Yes I think it does work like that. DS had several come out in reception and also all his back molars (further round than the baby teeth) have grown. In fact it looks funny now seeing his friends with gaps at the top when DS has two huge (compared to size of his mouth) teeth. DS is 7.4. He has the next ones at the top missing but because the new ones are so big the gaps are not really noticeable - in fact DH asked me how long he had had a gap there the other night. Only several months.
