Can you tell I'm happy?

DD is almost 22 months and took her first steps on Christmas Eve but yesterday started walking rather than cruising and is my little star!

We went to music group this morning and it brought tears to my eyes to see DD walking around and joining in with her peers who have been walking for much longer.

I'm very proud of my little girl and just wanted to let all you lovely ladies know that - they do all get there eventually, so please do not stress at HVs/friends/family questions!

Well done to baby LilRed!

Well done your dd! Ds2 is 22 months as well, and first steps were New Years Day, but the last 3 weeks he's really got there, it's so lovely to see!

Still waiting for DD's physio to call back so I can boast to her too! Unfortunately (for you lot), the only outlet I have until then is MN!

Well done little one! I am so pleased for you! Have got a 16 month old who is not able to stand yet, and only just thinking about pulling up this week, but not able to yet. It's terrible being asked all the time if she is walking!! What a relief for you!!

Lulumama · 03/03/2008 16:07

that is lovely lilred, absolutely lovely

LilRedWG · 03/03/2008 16:10

Thanks guys

HereComeTheGirls - I know it is frustrating. People gave up on asking me, I think DH may have have warned family and friends off, but he denies all knowledge so it may just have been my evil stares.

It must have been the best moment ever!

OracleInaCoracle · 03/03/2008 16:16

red, im sooooo happy for you all! well done that girl.

LilRedWG · 03/03/2008 16:16

Well, DH and I lay in bed drinking our coffee and DD normally crawls between her room and ours playing, but yesterday she decided that she'd walk. We went out later on and she toddled around quite happily on her reigns (she seems to like the security) and didn't notice when we let go. She has literally switch overnight from crawling 98% of the time to walking 90% of the time.

Lissie - you may not be saying that next week when we are chasing DD around the SeaLife Centre.

You are totally right FioFio, please do accept my apology.

I do not mean to totally ignore all medical advice at all - DD is under the physio for her lack of standing/walking at the age of one and I meant the comments received after we'd been reassured that DD was fine and telling everyone that.

I do hope that I haven't offended anyone. I guess I should have explained the history better.

mine likes the physio, for about 10 minutes, then goes on strike!

TotalChaos · 03/03/2008 16:50

well done, must be a weight off your mind!

LilRedWG · 03/03/2008 16:54

DD loves her physiotherapist. She is a lovely Welsh lady who make DD smile, but hated it at the hospital. The physio started coming out to the house and DD was a lot happier.

Agree with Fio, always get your child checked out if you have any concern at all. The physio did a full check of DD and reassured us on many levels.

Does she have hypotonia (low muscle tone) or was she just taking her time, LilreWG?
