lol twiglett
we seem to have had this discussion recently

I am tempted to post that dd was 12 but (a)she would never forgive me and (b) someone would believe it.

not read the whole thread, but just wanted to add my ds was abot 2yo when he could count to 15...now at just 3y + 2weeks he can recite the whole alphabet and can count to 25....some days 30....but takes a little help after 25

lottymadbird · 03/01/2008 20:29

ds could count to ten at 18 months and now at just turned three he can count to 13. This is by rote. He can count objects reliably to about 5 or 6. I know this because we play games with dice and although he recognises the dice patterns now for 1-4 he has to count for 5 and 6. He can recognise all numbers to 10 and reliably puts on channel 614 by himself!!! He is not so good on phonics though. He only knows curly c because his name begins with it and o.

dd could recite 1-10 at about 18 months, by 2 she could touch count to about 5.

at 3.2yo she can touch count to about 18 and can recite to 20.

but she likes numbers like me!

ds is 14 mo and only says mama and dada and ta, not such high hopes for him! lol although climbing on window ledges is his special skill!

abby my dd knows curly c too as her name begins with it, and kicking k as her brothers does.

she drew me a picture of a curly c the other day debateable, looked more like an l but oh well!

My dd 2 1/2 counts to fifteen with the help of dora and speaks a little spanish which I think is very cute.

She can count her cars and toys but sometimes gets mixed up jumping numbers.

She's not really grasping the alphabet yet but if she takes after me I like numbers but it's murder when you say only one or two sweets because you can't fob her off any more.
