Aaaaarrrrrggggh!!!
DS (23mths) is obsessed with sockets and plugs. Having battle royal every day to try and stop him pulling plugs out/putting plugs/fingers in.

Hes also extremely attached to the 'oofer' - so much so hes getting a toy hoover that actually sucks up dust for Christmas - fab prezzie or wot?!

Whats your toddlers obsession just out of curiosity?!

When outside it's spotting and avoiding 'birdy poo'.

DillyDally · 16/11/2004 14:36

DD has started to do Story maker hands where she waggles her fingers and I have to say imagine, imagine, imagine a story or else she gets quite upset. Must not tune in to it anymore.

Gingerbear · 16/11/2004 14:37

Unicorn, my 2 year old thinks he's called Thomas the Train Train Train. (If you say it does sound kind of like Thomas the Tank Engine.)

She is obsessed with:

Dora
Blue's Clues
Drawing
Playing her CD ROM games (which involves her sitting on my lap while I use the mouse - YAWN).
Pre-school (she wants to go every day).
Putting her shoes on all by herself, however long it takes.

DillyDally · 16/11/2004 14:50

Storymakers is a Cbeebies programme about two creatures who live in a library, come out at night and create stories with the help of a selection of magical humans and a computer with a yoghurt pot on the side of it.

logic · 16/11/2004 14:53

ds (2) is obsessed with:

diggers
trains esp. steam engines
cars esp. Porshes
helicopters + aeroplanes
boats + submarines
little robots
diggers

Did I mention diggers? Am I the only mum who accompanies a child screaming "Dig It!" all the way to the park and back?

Poshpaws · 16/11/2004 14:54

Thomas the Tank Engine and anything with 2 or more wheels...

misdee · 16/11/2004 14:54

dd2(26months) is obsessed with thomas the tank engine, the fridge, the washing machine and light switches.

KateandtheGirls · 16/11/2004 14:56

Do all of the rest of you find Thomas completely boring? My Dad bought my daughter a couple of Thomas books when we were with him (because she had picked those ones out in the store), and I hate reading them. They are excrutiatingly boring.

misdee · 16/11/2004 14:57

i find them annoying, but remember them from my brother having them. he had the books memorised.

Poshpaws · 16/11/2004 14:58

I think they are badly written. The vids are ok though, well some of the episodes.

NomDePlume · 16/11/2004 15:03

prefernot, my DD (2y 3m) is also obessed with birdy poo. Particularly if it is on my car. Thought she was the only one !

Slink · 16/11/2004 15:21

Putting things in a straight line, her books toys, i don't that and if a fly isin the car i have to stop and get it out.

Northerner · 16/11/2004 15:27

Taking his coat off outdoors
Rifling through my handbag
Money
Cars/diggers/trains etc
tampax (loves these - he only has to see them and he starts screaming mine!!)

skiingmummy · 16/11/2004 15:58

Isn't it great that they're all obsessed by different things.

Now can anyone explain WHY?!?!?

Oh yes, DS is also obsessed with cars and will happily play in the car for an hour. Takes after DH!

I bought the TTT engine books (got a good deal from a book club) however I agree that they are a tad boring...especially when compared to Bob the Builder. Now theres an interesting chap!

Must get Cbeebies - storymaker sounds ace!

When DS was about 2 years old he was obsessed with washing machines.

When we were at friends in the garden DS and her DD {same age} went indoors and went very quiet we went to see what they were doing.

They had empitied all the clean washing into washing basket from machine and were putting the dirty washing into the machine.

It was very embarressing at the time but cute now to remember it.

THey are both 9 years old now and DS has grown out of washing machine obsession

KangaMummy · 16/11/2004 16:08

DS was obsessed by TTTE and has now moved onto HORNBY electric train set that takes up the whole dinning room
