Feel free to remind me of this next time I talk about punishments being counter productive and letting them regulate their own food intake

LOL everyone has assumed he was refusing to eat it

he wasn't, he was just whispering to dp "this is poo food" and I lost the plot at the end of a long day

Magrat I don't find behaving in a shite way generally helps teach my children NOT to behave in a shite way

Cod that is so unlike you! A chair! The wall! My god I feel quite reasonable now

I'd have thought that meat was the most difficult thing to chew ..

kids are just weird

heh I couldn't face making my kids any dinner at all tonight .. maybe I shouldn't even be on this thread

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 18:52

LOL Greeny I can't resist a chance to hop up on the old soapbox

It really was pathetic though, not being able to ignore a 4 year old whispering about poo is a sad thing don't you think

god I HATE the ends of days when you have had enough

you can muddle through all day being just about reasonable and then blow it so badly at the end

oh dear cod hope you get over whatever it is without getting properly ill

do you take elderberry extract, it is fabulous for when you feel things starting?

yes I know at heart he will probably be on a shorter lead for the next few days now because he will remember this

not my preferred style of getting good behaviour though

Magrat · 17/12/2007 18:55

I'm not having a go Franny I just think that sometimes behaving irrationally allows your children to realise you are not super-human but are just a human being doing the best you can and sometimes they can push you beyond your limits and that they shouldn't

in the environment of a loving and supportive relationship a wig-out or two doesn't do any damage ..

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 18:55

oh I have a shitty temper you see cod

I think if it is very out of character they will realise that too and not take it to heart

but when you have to apologise most days for losing your rag at some point, it isn't great

no, I agree Magrat, about the odd freak out

but as a general method of controlling your children is awful and short sighted

OP posts:
Magrat · 17/12/2007 18:57

of course .. throwing a child's dinner in the bin every night will result in very very thin kids

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 18:58

LOL and a fat bin

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 18:59

I have just realised

I didn't compost it, it has gone to landfill

Magrat · 17/12/2007 19:00

am I wrong to be sniggering slightly at 'this is poo food' whispered under breath .. such a typical 4 year old behaviour

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 19:02

yes you fucker

i will throw all your dinners in the bin and see how you like it then

Sorry F&Z.

YuleLoveHekateAtSolstice · 17/12/2007 19:04

Seriously though F. You are too hard on yourself you know.

You are ALLOWED to be human.

LetsAllHaveSomePIGGYpudding · 17/12/2007 19:05

Ds1 told me he wanted a poo sandwich tonight. I almost made him one.

PaulaYatesbiggestfan · 17/12/2007 19:05

cooking is often quite likely to push me over the edge and with a few children there will always be one who does ot approve

FrannyandZooey · 17/12/2007 19:07

LOL at poo sandwich

no i am not too hard on myself

if had been perfect all week and then done this at the end, I wouldn't actually care

however has not been my finest hour from start to finish

SelfishMrsClaus · 17/12/2007 19:16
