Now, whilst I'm happy to be a bit more explicit with DD1, what is a reasonable answer to a 4yo's more probing questions?

Such as today.
DD1 'what happens with the special cuddle' 'a seed gets passed from the dad to the mum'

'how?'

me - 'I'll have to get you a book to help explain'

dd walked in on OH in the shower and asked him what 'that' was. He said 'Daddy's willy'. She ran off joyfully yelling 'daddy's willy! daddy's willy!' while we looked about shiftily for social services, but then she asked me the next day (no privacy in our house!) if my pubes were 'mummy's willy'... I said 'no, mummy's bottom' because, tbph, my mind went absolutely blank at that point.

Don't like 'front bottom' per se, but it's easier and more descriptive than 'bottom' in general and at 2.6 I'm hoping to avoid the 'vagina/vulva/volvo' issue for a year or so yet!

we just have "mummy's bits" and "daddy's bits"... and that mummy has "girl bits" and daddy and ds have "boy bits" that are different. should last another few months with a bit of luck.....

I cannot really take much credit for the way it is explained in our house though as it was an evolutionary tale of evolutionary matters, i.e. I explained, the children added to that explanation and now we have a nicely honed version of events.
