Can I have a proud mummy moment?

Ds, just under 13 mos, pulled himself up to standing for the very first time today! And once he'd started he didn't want to stop.
But sadly none of my ruddy family were around to hear about the progress of their first granchild/nephew so I thought I'd come on here and tell you lot . Was even reduced to phoning my MIL...

thanks, ladies

edam, i blush for not acknowledging your ds's fine achievement...

My ds (2yrs 11months) just drew his first self portrait!! A round blob with line legs and arms in roughly the right place. Am delirious with pride. He can also draw Saturn, with rings!

Congrats to all the clever infants.

Like Edam, I can't get hold of anyone to tell them either!

edam · 10/08/2004 14:21

Wow Aloha and SQ. Clearly all our children are infant prodigies! (actually my ds wasn't particularly early but we were very excited anyway).
Aloha, what an interesting combination ? Saturn and self-portrait! Probably means something very, very deep.
PS have been meaning to email you in case you are interested in any commissions (not sure if you are taking some well-deserved time off?) but haven't transferred all my old address book yet. My new work email addess is [email protected] if you want to get in touch in the meantime.

Fantastic!
Am very proud of all our MN babies and toddlers.
SQ: she can roll? and lift her head? amazing. And as for Aloha Junior aka Patick Moore - well!

Can I join in please?

Ds (2yrs 11months) was leaning against a neighbour's fence during a visit to his grandparents at the weekend, and managed to get the back of his shirt and shorts covered in that green mossy stuff which rubs off. Being a mean mummy I told him that his shorts were dirty - whereupon he promptly vanished indoors. A few minutes later he reappeared - trouserless - brandishing his damp shorts and told me that they were clean now, because he'd washed them. He'd pulled a step over to the basin, filled it with water, washed out his shorts (and he had got them clean too!) and had even wrung them out so they weren't dripping everywhere.

He can do all my washing if he likes - if he can manage that I'm sure it won't take long to teach him how the washing machine works!

Can I borrow him LunarSea? What with my ds mopping the floor and your ds doing the washing, I'd be able to put my feet up and watch the telly... apart from the fact that the arial's broke so dh and I having to resort to actually talking to each other. Not sure my marriage is going to survive long at this rate...
