What time does your 6/7 month old wake from their last nap before bedtime?

ds seems to wake around 2:30pm and that is it until bed at around 6:45pm. He gets tired but there is no opportunity fo rhim to nap again before bed and as he rises early some days his early nap is early, later nap is early etc..... Wondering what yours are doing. He averages around 3hrs per day. Does that sound average?
Try to get his morning nap later so this has knock on effect of making afternoon nap later but as we have school run he invariably nods off in car....

Hana- my ds is 2 too and he does sleep for 2 hours at the same time as dd [boastful mum emoticon] it's fab!!

soph - sounds like you have an excellent sleeper! i usually get two naps out of ds but if hte last one finises around 2pm it is such a struggle to last until 7pm bedtime. today he went for a little 30min nap 4:30-5pm which did him the world of good. Don't kow what hte night holds though as he is a bad sleeper generally . good to hear others 'routines' though

dd wakes areound 7am, has a 20min snooze at around 9/10, another at around 12/1, then a twoish hour nap around 3-5pm ish. Goes to bed at 8pm, I wake/dreamfeed her at 10pm.

did you post a while ago about getting your ds to nap in his cot?

I think if you want it you will just have to persist and always put him down for a nap there. I think they do have a much better sleep in their cot/bed. Make his room dark and use a mobile/musical toy etc so that he becomes familiar with the routine. Speak calmly and reassuringly to him- if he senses that you are anxious for him to go to sleep he will be anxious too. You might find that if he gets comfortable with his own bed during the day, he will sleep better at night too!

thanks luna/soph etc. yes it was me who posted about ds not nappin in cot. still the same . he wil nap in his buggy but as heis 7mths now I really want him to be able to move about etc. just feel his quality of sleep with improve enormously. in know i have to persevere with it. maybe after dd goes back to school. too many daytrips at the moment to make it practical. thanks though

i have recently added in the afternoon nap at around 3:30pm. it has made such a difference and lo can last until bedtime without being crochety. seems to go to sleep just as easily for it too . he now has three naps per day
