Four year old with blackhead!! Advice please!

My gorgeous little girl has what looks like the start of a blackhead smack bang on the end of her nose. Obviously, we wash her face a few times a day and she's clean so I'm not sure where it's come from but I was wondering if anybody could offer any advice as to how to clear it. All the usual methods I would assume are too abrasive and rough for such soft baby skin and I certainly don't want to risk scarring her by extracting it with my fingers. Any other ideas please, thanks x

oh my god I almost threw up. i'm going to be having nightmares about it. didn't stop me looking up other videos and part of me is jealous.... (the secret spot squeezer part of me)

I had one like that once, under one of my norks and it was huge, tooks weeks for it to go down properly.

Blandmum · 12/03/2007 20:33

where you the three norked woman for a while????

Blandmum · 12/03/2007 20:34

there is one of a zit on a blokes back, and this woman squeezes so much stuff out of it, it must have been coming up from his toes in the end!!!!

wurlywurly · 12/03/2007 20:35

definatly, had to get dh to squeeze it couldnt put a bra on cos it rubbed in the wrong places.

NotanOtter · 12/03/2007 20:36

my son aged 10 has had blackheads for a few years now
i cannot bear it
i use clearisil ultra and although strong it does the business

Posey · 12/03/2007 20:38

I thought I had a strong stomach (I was a nurse fgs, seen loads of awful stuff) but that was truly vom-inducing.
Thanks for sharing that with us

crystalpony · 12/03/2007 20:42

Like I said, I was quite tempted to stick a Biore strip on her nose (but havent) I absolutely LOVE them. Even managed to convince my dad to have one on. He's 72. The anticipation and build-up to taking it off was almost unbearable but what a result!! There must have been 50 years worth of coal dust extracted from his pores stuck on it (they have a proper fire).

that was ALL types of wrong!!! i loved the way that the whole family was sharing in the beautiful moment, the family that plays together stays together!!!

I just watched that video and then hurriedly tried to compose my face into some semblance of normality when dp came into the room

I failed

he said "If it makes you face look like that you really shouldn't be looking at it, whatever it is"

when I told him what it was he said "Mumsnet has not really improved in your absence, has it"

JackieNo · 12/03/2007 20:45

Franny, what was your face doing? Horrified, hysterical, what?

JackieNo · 12/03/2007 20:46

(and while I watched, it, you wouldn't have seen much of my face as my hand was clasped across most of it in horror)

FrannyandZooey · 12/03/2007 20:46

Dp says it looked like I was sucking a lemon while being told my cat had died

crystalpony · 12/03/2007 20:47

What have I started?????????

cuntermunker · 12/03/2007 20:49

franny, was that your stated aim when you left us... that we should somehow improve in your absence?

crystalpony · 12/03/2007 20:53

oh-oh...

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 12/03/2007 20:53

cuntermunker · 12/03/2007 20:56

I do love a good spot squeeze. DS (13 wks) has a spot on his nose that looks like an open pore trying to catch dirt and become a blackhead!

Am so tempted to give it a sqeeze - but he is too little (for now )

crystalpony · 12/03/2007 21:31

I think I will give it a good steaming and just try to coax it out over time. Thanks for the views everyone (EXCEPT martianb!)

oh my god how absolutely revolting. where did you hear of this mb?
I won't be having my bedtime hot milk now....
others I advise you only to look if you can stomach nasty things. I would rather change someone elses babies soiled nappy than watch that again!!!

crystalpony · 12/03/2007 21:39

I actually felt dirty after watching
