starting a new thread -desperate for help.ds1 aged 6 has deliberately burnt my leather sofa with a lamp.as adoption is out of the question and i can't kill him what do i do? completely out of my parenting depth here.

his dad is brilliant and bathes him every night and reads stories and puts him to bed.
he plays with him loads etc.it's not lack of attention.

Not much to aqdd but lots of support and a thought that perhaps 6 is a bit young to expect him to understand that a burnt sofa means money which means daddy working hard. My 5 year old thinks - dispite being told lots of times- that you get money by buying things and getting change!So try not to put too much guilt on him - he's only little.
