dd2 (7) is passionate about wildlife, particularly snakes. She is not very academic (unlike her older sister) but it's so lovely to hear her enthuse about her favourite subject, particularly as she is so knowledgeable!

Tell me some other passions ....

DS (2) loves tractors, diggers and fire engines, but current passion is for camper vans. Any time we see a camper van he asks in a very loud voice 'Shall I go in there mummy?', and keeps repeating it until I say yes, that sounds like a good idea.

Thomcat - I had forgotten the Sizzles thing with ds. He often will not respond to his own name, we have to say "Sizzles, where are you?" etc. He also would like to eat his food off the floor, given half a chance. And frequently shouts things like

"not eber eber mato", "carrot jupiter", "ish inger"

PanicPants · 01/09/2006 22:12

ds (1) loves to just sit on his rocking horse.

and sit...

and sit...

and sit...

PandaG · 01/09/2006 22:13

DS 6 space, dinosaurs, maps

DD 4 dancing, anything sparkly, makeup, jewellery.....

Clary · 01/09/2006 22:15

DS1 (7) knows an awful lot about dinosaurs. And Star Wars (episodes 4-6). And sharks.

DD (5) knows a surprising amount about the Disney princess films including all the songs. And reading anything at the moment

DS2 (3) will tell you quite surprising things about pirates (he was fascinated by a rock on holiday named after a famous pirate, such that we had to make up loads of extra detail which he will now tell anyone who expresses even a vague interest....)

They all love Dr Who (well, so do I (see threads passim)).

Thomcat lol at DD and charlie and lola!

ilovecaboose · 01/09/2006 22:18

Ds (22 months) passions are:

Tractors

PENNIES - especially posting them down the floorboards when no one is looking.

Singing and dancing for an audience whether they want him to or not.

And his no. 1 passion is CAR KEYS - he will accost anyone who comes into our house and refuse to let them past the door until they hand them over. He needs them to work his toy car apparently. Also is determined to drive a real car and likes to spend ages in the drivers seat pretending.

sorkycake · 01/09/2006 22:22

Dd (4) loves spiderman so much it looks quite painful. She's also very attached to a toy cat, called 'cat'. Chocolate. Being naked.

Ds (2.9) loves Hong Kong Phooey at the moment and can often be found trying out the moves. Also quite fond of C & L. Playing with his 'tail' and Jelly Babies.

CaptainDippy · 01/09/2006 22:32

Mmmmmm, let me think .....

DD1 (2.5) - 'Ammy Tork-use (Sammy Tortoise) who lives in our garden - In fact, she's pretty obssessed with the "gark-un" full-stop. Norky Cat (Naughty Cat) is bit of a "thing" atm - (a naughty cat weed on Grandma's leeks and now she has to tell everyone we meet - what joy!) Also her dollies - go every, all the time ..... Oh, and that blasted Very Hungry Caterpillar DVD!!

DD2 (15 months) - Hitting DH and I over the head with whatever she can get her hands on, running away during nappy changes with a cheeky grin on her face - and screaming if food is not bought out quick enough. yes. She is very good at that!

CaptainDippy · 01/09/2006 22:33

sorkycake - Ditto the "being naked" thing!

JennyLee · 01/09/2006 22:33

ds loves star wars, action man, skateboarding, boxing (with dh) passionately and talks at length about this stuff......all the time lol

JennyLee · 01/09/2006 22:34

singersgirl · 01/09/2006 22:40

DS1 (just 8) - Yugi-Oh! and Dr. Who currently, though he is a serial obsessive.

DS2 (just 5) - Batman, Dr. Who and correcting people's pronunciation.

olivia35 · 01/09/2006 22:45

Ds (2 years) tractors. What IS it with wee boys & their blooming tractors? Also diggers etc. Currently obsessed with anything with a siren (they're all 'am - BLANCE!'). His baby sister & ensuring she has sufficient cuddly toys at all times. My SIL. Any blonde, curvy female (he gets that from his paternal grandfather). Books, especially if about tractors. Deadheading roses. Next door's guinea pigs.

Dd (5 months) - pink square rabbit toy thingy, AKA 'Roadkill'. according to dh.

themoon66 · 01/09/2006 22:48

Aw, reading this thread really took me back to the days of hard cardboard tractor and big truck books.

DS, now aged 14, is currently obsessed with 'Teach Yourself Java Script' and 'Teach yourself Modern Greek'. Along with reading Harry Potter in Latin.

I've got meself a geek ladies and gentleman!!!

prettymum · 01/09/2006 22:49

hunkermunker · 01/09/2006 22:51

Joolstoo · 01/09/2006 22:52

ds1 & ds 2 - women

Lilliput · 01/09/2006 23:02

Sorkycake, my dd is mad about spiderman at the mo, she's only 3.5 but she plays with a 7 year old boy sometimes and she picked up the obsession from him. I have spent the whole week as the green goblin having web sprayed in my face and HAVING to say "I'll get you next time spiderman". I was glad to see your 4 yr old dd was into it too!
ds is obsessed by a doodle board that he drags around and insists you draw flowers on it, he's 18 months.

sorkycake · 01/09/2006 23:14

Gingerbear · 01/09/2006 23:16

at the moment, it is lions.
'Mummy, you can be Sarabi, and I will be Simba'
ad nauseum whenever we are in the car.
Previously: horses, fish, dolphins, Dora the Explorer, Disney Princesses, and Thomas the tank engine.
She goes through phases.
