How old was your child when they learned to climb out of a cot?

dt2 jsut appeared. I put him in bed. I've been up with him and watched him climb between his and dt1s cot and back again then out of the cot altogether. He is only 16mnths. Both seem unbelievably agile to me, can climb in and out of their high chairs, over the back of the sofa (the hard way - over the back to the front).
I'm now wonderign what on earth I am going to do come bedtime. He isn't an easy child at all, and generally doesn't do as he is told.

Do babies normally climb out this early? dd couldn't at 2 or so, and ds went into a bed early, but was generally more compliant and could be relied on to stay there!

That clip is so funny! I showed my husband and now we're scared that OLO will get up to similar!

Babies can be so wily!

love the clip, he was sooo determined
my dd was 15 months when she first escaped her cots, she finds it easier to get out of her travel cot, she just hooks 1 leg over then sort of throws herself the rest of the way, when she gets out of her big cot it takes her a bit longer, but she gets there in the end, its a major pain in the bum!

Dd1 never climbed out of her cot

Dd2 however figured out how to climb out of her cot a week past Tuesday she's 2.3years. She's a nightmare and we're in the process of getting her moved into a big bed, I'm scared she'll break a bone climbing out. I tried putting her back into her gro-bag in an attempt to prevent her climbing out but that only lasted 5 minutes as she just undid the zip and climbed out anyway.

Loved the video just goes to show the determination these little people have.
