7 month old doing weird eye squeezing - really worried

For the past few weeks I've noticed my ds has been squinting - squeezing his eyes closed for a few seconds and then opening them again. I don't know if this is what's known as 'squinting' but that's what we call it. Sometimes it's a fluttery kind of blink, sometimes a tight one. He'll do it a few times for a while then stop. He's just been doing it again now and it's got me and DH quite concerned that there's something wrong with his sight, or maybe that he's developing a nervous reaction of some kind. Also, we've taken a fair few photos of him in the past with flash and I've noticed him squeezing his eyes closed then (can't blame him there) so we're also thinking perhaps it's a result of using too much flash...?

Please has anyone any experience of this or suggestions of why he might be doing it? Is it just a developmental thing? I'm thinking of taking him to see the health visitor tomorrow cos I'm really quite concerned.

Hi. Would someone be able to send me a video of your baby doing this. We was in hospital in january when he was 5 months old and was told its tonic eye deviation. He has started more with odd mouth movements now and would like to compare thank you. Seems worse when getting excited at moment

My 7 month old baby did a wired expression. She closed her eyes and made a weird O shape with mouth, and also tensed her face. While doing so she also tensed her arms.
Can somone plz dm me video of her baby so that I could compare.

Thanks 🙏🏻 I’ve been so worried that this could be something worrisome.
If anyone can share there video and I can see if it’s the same as my 9 mth. She has been doing it more and more but she is getting her front teeth at the moment.
I guess I’ve been worried because all her teeth have been coming on her left side nothing on her right side. So it’s a little out of order 😆 but she was classified as premature because she was born at 2 kg.

Would love to talk to anyone else with the shame.

so I’m in a similar situation with my 8 month old. A week ago she started to aggressively blink her eyes. I chalked it up to be allergies as were at my in laws house, she also had slept well that day.
I’m still noticing it, not as aggressive but definitely still happens.
anyone have videos they can send me?

i will not she’s been rubbing her nose aggressively too. She’s teething and I did read this could be from teething? Not sure how accurate that is.

My daughter is almost 3 now and she’s doing 100% great. Back then we had an EKG and scans…. everything came back normal. I forgot what the doctor at the hospital called it but she said some babies have it and then grow out of it, some type of twitch. It was very scary to see back then but we’re park it now. My daughter grew out of it 6 months later and is developing like she a regular toddler. Hope that gives you some peace of mind

My daughter is now 3.5 years old. The blinking and weird episodes stopped about 6 months after starting back when she was 7-8 months old. 100% healthy and developing perfectly now. I have a video but I don’t know how to upload it so see the photos below

Hi! My daughter started doing that when she was 6 months old and she’s now a healthy 4 year old. My son also did it a little when he was about 8 years old and stopped a few weeks later. He’s one now and is completely healthy. We thought it was Tourette’s syndrome or Tics syndrome. Years later, we think it has something to due with their nervous systems developing, teething probably effected it but now thinks it was completely normal. Check with you littles doctor though

We’ve been to pediatrician and neurologist. Both of them find this unusual because baby looks completely healthy and is meeting his milestones. They have excluded neurological problem because they havent seen case like ours. They are going to send us to a hospital in Capital for further analysis because they dont know whats causing it. As much as it was a relief they dont think its something serious, the fact that they dont know what it is and dont think its teeth related stresses me out. Im just hoping this will end soon.
