Piffle · 19/07/2006 14:57

dd is 3.8 and we use bibs most of the time
Bed 2.7
Pram ummm dd has some motility troubles so she is still in it but happily walks most of where we need to go to.
normal chair - never she has a tripp trapp
she does mostly hold my hand for balance and security as she trips easily and has no depth perception (poor eyesight)

emkana · 19/07/2006 19:53

God all you people holding hands.

How how how do you manage it - why will your children let you?

Mine hate it!!!

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 19/07/2006 19:57

...stop using bibs?

can't remember - but quite young for DS2

Move from cot to bed?

DS1 - 18 months
DS2 - still in his cot - we are going to get him a bed - but all spare resources are currently directed to our trip to Zimbabwe (he's 2yrs 8 months )

Stop using pushchair?

DS1 - 3yrs 3 months (in his defence he was a very late walker)
DS2 - 2 1/2yrs

sit on a normal dining chair to eat?

Can't remember really - think DS1 was about 3/4
DS2 still sat in his high chair - but with the tray and 'bar' removed so that it's just like a stool at the table

stop holding your hand when out

DS1 - about 3ish
DS2 - he only holds my hand now when we cross the road or if it's very busy) - generally he just walks alongside or just infront - has been doing that since we ditched the puschair at 2 1/2yrs

Snafu · 19/07/2006 19:59

Bibs - about 18 months, I think, although I was never that big on them anyway (not organised enough to have clean ones).

Cot to bed - part of his 3rd birthday present was a big boy's bed with Thomas the Tank Egnine duvet...

Pushchair - still doing it, can't see me getting him out of it for a while

Normal dining chair - about 2, has just got rid of the cushions

Holding my hand - he still does, but am super-twitchy about cars/running off etc

roisin · 19/07/2006 20:12

can't remember
bed: 20 months
out of pushchair: between 24 and 30 months
can't remember
holding hands - still does - always - he's 9

CarolinaMoose · 19/07/2006 20:19

ds is 20mo and I haven't really used bibs since about 12-13mo. I just don't give him any gravy

He can sit on a dining chair, but needs a cushion obv to reach the table.

He is in a bed...ours

Still in a pushchair apart from short walks (10-15mins or so). And he still holds my hand.

FrayedKnot · 19/07/2006 20:24

...stop using bibs? - Rarely does now, except for messy puddings / spag bol

Move from cot to bed? - Still in cotbed with sides up

Stop using pushchair? Still take it out with us but he often doesn;t use it

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? Has done at relatives, with a cushion on it.

stop holding your hand when out? - If there are cars about, still firmly gripped on to, if no cars e.g. pedestrianised area in town, he doesn;t.

All of these I would say have happened since DS turned 2, he is 2.4 now.

riab · 19/07/2006 20:51

...stop using bibs? never did! i tried but he used to pull them off and anyway he managed to get his clothes dirty so i gave up

Move from cot to bed? not yet (15 mths) and no plans to do so until he can climb over the side - its a cotbed so no issues with size. I'll take one side off and leave it in the corner with the chest across the foot so it feels 'safe'. I reckon when he's about 3

Stop using pushchair? wish i could now! I'm planning on buying a lighter one for him and I guess he'll stop using it at about 4

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? when he is big enough to reach the tbale - which given his size will be a logn time away!

stop holding your hand when out? If i have my way when we cross roads he'll hold my hand until he is 10!

kid · 19/07/2006 21:05

stop using bibs? around 12 months when they pulled them off.

Move from cot to bed? DD=2.5 DS=13months

Stop using pushchair? DD=3.3 DS=3

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? DD=2 DS=2

stop holding your hand when out? DD=5 DS=4 (both still hold my hand when crossing roads)

schneebly · 19/07/2006 21:08

Bibs - 18 months (but still messy)

bed - 2.2 years (to give cot to DS2)

pushchair - rarely used it since about 2.5

chair - about 2

Hand - Still holds my hand or onto DS2's buggy at almost 3.

ilovecaboose · 19/07/2006 21:20

BIbs - about 1 as I realised the clothes were still getting dirty.

Moved from cot to low cot bed at 10 months

Now at 21 months don't really use pushchair at all

About 20 months he started sitting on normal chair

Still trying to get him to hold my hand when we are out!

Reece · 19/07/2006 22:39

Bibs - about 2.5

Is still in cotbed and jumps out every morning and night! Won't go into toddler bed.

Occasionally still use 1.

Been kneeling on dining chairs since about 2.2

Still holds hand

hunkermunker · 19/07/2006 22:45

All re DS1 (2.3) since DS2 is too little for words

bibs: has rarely worn them - never does now at home

Cot to bed: 2.3 a fortnight ago this Saturday.

Pushchair: still in one, but often walks some of the way, depending where we are.

Normal chair to eat: does this sometimes now, but usually in his Tripp Trapp if we're at home and asks to go in a highchair (and be strapped in!) when we're out.

Still holds my hand, obviously!

hunkermunker · 19/07/2006 22:48

(Those of you who say they sat on normal dining chair very young - was this without a booster at all? How do they reach the table?)

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 19/07/2006 22:49

bibs - wore apron till about 15 months

Move from cot to bed? still in cot 2.8

Stop using pushchair? still in but asks to walk quite a bit now

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? stop using booster at 18mths (shes tall)

stop holding your hand when out? NEVER (I hope )

zephyrcat · 19/07/2006 22:52

stop using bibs? - Have never used bibs

Move from cot to bed - 18 months-ish

Stop using pushchair - dd was 3.6, ds still in pushchair - hes 2.1

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? - cant remember with dd - about 2.6 maybe. Ds will be soon.

stop holding your hand when out - DD rarely holds hands now except to cross roads.

LilacWine · 19/07/2006 22:53

..stop using bibs? 2

Move from cot to bed? 18 months

Stop using pushchair? 2.5

sit on a normal dining chair to eat? 2.5

stop holding your hand when out? still does (she's 5)

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 19/07/2006 23:03

Bibs- never saw point of, just as easy to wash a cheap t-shirt as a bib surely?

Cot to bed- ds1 went at 13 months, just before ds2 arrived; ds2 at about 2 and ds3 at about 2.5, after it collapsed.

Pushchair- at about 3 with all of them, used very little between 2 and 3.

Sit on a normal chair- about 3, although really they're not tall enough and could do with a booster. DS3 will be in a booster for a while yet, as we have a huge table

Holding hand: I'll let you know if and when it happens

SlightlyFamiliarPeachyClair · 19/07/2006 23:05

(Obv can't hold hands with all 3, so if I am going over school with all my boys we hold hands in a line anfd form a 'Peach Train')

NotAnOtter · 19/07/2006 23:09

do i win a prize???????????

ds3 still in a cot he is 3 and a half on friday!

dejags · 19/07/2006 23:27

DS2 is nearly 2

Bibs - rarely used them
Bed - in a bed since 20 months
Pushchair - still in use
Chair - since 20 months
Holding hand - firmly in place

DS1 is 5

Bibs - rarely used them
Bed - only at 3 and then only into a cabin bed, he was falling out of a normal bed until recently
Pushchair - 3ish
Normal dining chair - 2
Holding hands - still does

Bozza · 20/07/2006 08:55

hunker I wondered that about chairs. Because DS went into a booster at about 20 months I reckon (although was used intermittently before that) and DD went into one at 12 months. DS came out of the booster at nearly 4 (after a tussle from me because I was wanting DD to have it) and DD who is 2.2 is still in it. She can climb into it herself and fasten herself in so it is minimum effort having it fastened to one of the kitchen chairs. But if we have a younger child visiting she can manage quite well just on a cushion. DS still sits on a cushion now and he is 5.

Marne · 20/07/2006 09:03

Bibs 2 years

cot to bed 18 months

Stll using pushchair 2.4 years

Sit in a normal chair 2.3 years

Will make her hold my hand till she's 18

Clary · 20/07/2006 09:13

OK, this is DS2 as he's the most recent (he was 3 in April)
bibs - refused to use after about ?? 18 mo at the oldest. Very tidy eater.
cot to bed - earlier this year at about 2.9mo but we didn?t need cot for anyone else and he could climb out of it in a very controlled way.
pushchair - still in the boot of the car but I haven?t pushed him in it except on a 5-mile walk for at least 6 mo. So let?s say 2.6 or so. Hate to see 4yos in p/chairs.
grown-up chair - he refused his high chair at about 15 mo IIRC, early but he wants to be grown up. Started flinging his food or worse, climbing out of it, so I gave in and sat him on our (quite high-seated) dining chairs.
Still holds my hand. So does DS1 (he?s 7)

emmylou have you tried sunbleaching for tomato stains?
Hunker - I think our dining chairs have very high seatsso ds2 could reach when still young.
