ggglimpopo - I had one who could polevault out of the cot too - except he obviously managed to bounce rather than hurt himself because he did it habitually, to the extent that we ended up putting him in a bed before he was 1 since there didn't seem any point keeping him in a cot he could escape from at will. Unfortunately his exploits also extended to being able to get over stairgates while still in his sleeping bag

Definately far easier to have one who stays where they're put!
