notasheep my neighbour's boy who is 5.5 has size 13 feet too.
Same as my almost 7yo.
Sounds OK to me.

ghosty · 05/05/2006 00:37

My DS is 6 and has size 12 so it can't be that massive can it?

Alipiggie · 05/05/2006 03:36

ds1 (4) is an 11 and ds2 (almost 3) is a 9. So think it's very much the norm. I'm a size 4 and dh a 9 so not big feet here.

nooka · 05/05/2006 13:08

My two have exactly the same size feet, both 1F.
ds is seven today
dd is six in September.
I am 5'10" and size 7.5; dh is 6'5" and size 11 (fairly small for his height).
I'm just waiting for dd to get taller than ds, and he's fairly tall. I did a height predictor thing a while back and they both came out at 6'1". I'm glad that people are, in general, taller now - I did all my growing by the time I was 12, and really hope dd will have an easier time as a teenager than I did.

nooka · 05/05/2006 13:10

Oh, and Charlene it goes children's sizes to 13, and then adult sizes from 1 up. Different makes/brands vary slightly, but I find that socks shrink a lot, so don't worry about it!

fattiemumma · 05/05/2006 17:17

i can beat that. DS is 5 and is in a size 1. DD is gonna have big feet too i think as she is 19 months and in a 6 already.

Charlene1 · 05/05/2006 20:45

ta, Nooka!

Dior · 05/05/2006 20:48

My ds is 4 and has size 12! (nearly 5 though)

tegan · 06/05/2006 20:24

Should i be worried seeing as dd1 is 8 and has size 3 feet and dd2 is 2 and has size 8 feet.

Pernod · 06/05/2006 20:35

I wouldn't be tegan, my dd1 is just 6 & a size 13, dd2 is just 3 & size 9! I'm 5"9 with size 8 feet & dh is 6"6 with size 12's!!

tegan · 07/05/2006 07:49

I was not worrying seeing as dh is 6'4 and has size 13 feet

louise35 · 07/05/2006 10:15

My DD (11) is now a size 4.5, which is not a big problem really, the only prob is that her poor plates of meat are so narrow that she can't get shoes narrow enough for her, she's off the scale at clarks for narrowness. Clarks have offered her size with insoles stuffed in them to bulk up the narrowness but their shoes make her look like a bloody clown due to the extra "growing room" that they insist on. The poor kid really does struggle to get shoes now and of course she's wanting fashion shoes now and kids usually go up to 3 so she often has to go to the ladies section they are inevitably far too wide. She was a size 3 for about 2 years between 8-10 years old and gradually up to 4 then 4.5. I'm saying she's 4.5, she could actually be a 5 now as I've not had her measured properly for a few months. (bad Mum). Her feet grew rapidly when she was small but it does seem to be slowing down a bit as she's getting older. I don't worry about it too much, I remember being a size 7 when I was in my latter school years much to my horror but for some reason now I'm 35 and depending where I get my shoes from I tend to be between 5 and 5.5. Do our feet shrink as we get older?? One bit of advice though, if you do go to clarks and they measure the feet, usually the shoes in the size quoted are far too big. Even the lady in the shop concluded that she did not need the size that came up so we always used to go down a size smaller than what was actually measured. Sometimes the growing room in the shoe can be a little too muchand hal a size smaller will usually be ample big enough. Hope that helps Grin

louise35 · 07/05/2006 10:18

Meant to say "half a size smaller" referring the Clarks shoes. Bloody keyboard.

bigdonna · 08/05/2006 20:22

my ds at 4 3/4 when he started reception class was a size 13 1/2 shoe he is now 8 and a size 5.my dd has just turned 7 and is a size 13 1/2 now.

carol3 · 08/05/2006 21:09

another tall mum here i'm 6ft with size 9 1/2 feet so kids following me. Ds1 is 8 and has size 4, dd1 has just turned 6 and has size 2! and dd3 is 2 and wears 9 1/2. Just as long as they don't grow as big as my brother who's 7ft with size 16 feet ! Shock Smile

mrsdil · 09/05/2006 11:01

My ds is 5 and wears a size 12 shoe, 13 trainer.

crazydazy · 09/05/2006 11:12

My DD is also size 13 and she is only 6, she is also width H which is a very wide fitting and there was not many styles to choose from when we went to Clarks. The assistant even suggested we go to Charles Klinkard to get her some shoes as her feet are that wide.

DS is size 10H and he is not 4 yet.

Took my 2 dds to get new trainers yesterday and was amazed to discover that my 7 year old is size 1 and my 5 year old is size 13! They've both grown over 2 shoe sizes since Xmas...... and doesn't my purse know it!

ButterflyInGlassMaze · 15/05/2006 09:02

I've never really thought about my son's feet in terms of size.

He's 7 years old, 4'2" and a wears a size 2 shoe.
I'm 5'5 and A size 5/6. His dad's 5'5 and a size 9.

Hoping my son will take after my brother who's 6'5 and a very HUGE size 13!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 17/05/2006 21:14

DD is 2.5 and is 8.5

I was in adult shoes very early on and remember crying in a shoe shop as they had no kids shoes to fit me and I had to get womens shoes (which were naff in the 70's)My dad said "just get her the boxes!"

I was a size 6.5 at 11
