My five month old keeps weeing in the bath. Had to change the water three times today for a five minute bath....any ideas? Am I alone?

Keely I am really sorry you had such a difficult time conceiving.

There is no way to stop him from peeing in the tub. So you either have to shrug and keep going or keep wasting all of that water. Up to you.

When DS was a babe he had problems with reflux. I was always so concerned with his intake of milk, how many ml's etc. I would write it down in a special book. He would throw up after every feed and it would kill me because it looked like loads but HV assured me it looked more than it is... I didnt believe her so would hold a small measuring jug under DS's chin after every feed so I could measure his upchuck...

Be honoured. I've never told anyone that story...

My DS is now 2 and stands up to wee in the bath, laughing happily as he does so.

However when I only had my DD now aged 5, I would change her nappy every single time she did the smallest wee and give her a bath and change her clothes if there was even a drop of posset or food on them. I still iron every single thing and can spend up to 5 or 6 hours ironing a week, even though I really don't have the time for this!

We all have had our PFB moments and mine included trying out baby wipes on my own undercarriage to make sure they weren't likely to sting my DD (I can't stand the sound/ feel of cotton wool being ripped off a roll or the sensation of cotton wool balls on my hands, so couldn't use just water on her for a wee wipe off).

You are not alone, you were just unlucky enough to post lateish on a Friday evening, when us MNers were up for a bit of banter (not necessarily at your expense).

Stick with it, you'll get a lot of good advice over the coming years and before long you'll be an old hand at this parenting malarkey and offering your own "pearls of wisdom" to the newbies.

I had to get in the bath (the big one, not the baby bath!) with my PFB until he was 5 months old because he screamed blue murder when water touched his skin. I got weed on a lot.

PFB moments? I once thought that he had something really wrong with him when he wouldn't stop crying and crying. We tried everything we could think of: feeding, burping, singing, shushing, stories, etc and only after a few hours did one of us have the bright idea of changing his nappy...

Sorry for teasing earlier, but he is going to get mucky, catch bugs and get all manner of bumps and bruises as he gets bigger. He will fall off climbing frames, eat a spider, fall into nettles and tread in dog poo. I haven't been through anything like what you have but I can understand why you worry from reading your post. But he will be fine with a bit of wee in his bath (pace MrsRB). Honestly, it's great here and sometimes the sarkiness and lack of "aw, you know your bubs, hun" placatory bullshit is great when you need to check to see if your reaction is proportionate or if the general consensus is that you're being daft.

But Vee, you minger! Ew! Grin Envy
