Hi

I am keen to add a few more testimonials to my new site (behaviour management consultancy) so am happy to offer one or two free consultations to parents here in exchange for a testimonial. I have helped spudballoo from here with great success and she has given me a fab testimonial which is on my site. I won't add my web address but you can CAT me for details as this isn't an ad, more a plea for help from a mother trying to get a very small business off the ground.

I do use this site for personal stuff too so please don't think I am just using the board to advertise. If any of you are interested just get in touch to discuss.

And thank you L for my mention in your Times sleep training article - got lots of hits after that. Huge thanks!

alliep30 · 16/02/2006 09:23

howabout a 5 year old boy who won't listen? I think that's just normal though isn't it

nannyme · 16/02/2006 12:04

Funny you should say that, goldenoldie as I was thinking this could be an area for expansion! Poor you, does he realise Valentines Day has happened. Maybe he is making an anti commercialism and materialism kind of statement

I would love help on feeding an extremely fussy 3yr old but am in Scotland. Would value any e-mail or telephone consults though.

nannyme · 16/02/2006 12:09

Freshstart, Email support is a possibility. Some problems are more suited to this type of assistance than others. I always prefer to consult in person but if you have a look at idontlikecrusts.co.uk you will see I do have an email Q&A section.

Meant to say, e-mail is gma5018142 at aol dot com. It's okay though, if you already have enough. I think it's lovely you would offer your services for free.

Well thank you for the great response everyone! I now have plenty of people to choose from for the offer of a free consultation. I will look at all of those who have said they would like help but who live outside of London and consider them for Email support. A possibility too is to travel and provide free consultation but for the individual to cover my transport and accommodation costs.

Please could anybody who is definitely interested visit my site and contact me via my contact details there.

I would be really grateful to know from those of you who have taken a look at the site, what you think and what would make you decide to use it/not use it if it were a paid for thing rather than a freebie. Is the cost prohibitive? I think I am in line with others offering a similar service but am interested to hear your opinions.

Thanks guys/girls!

Mazzystar · 16/02/2006 16:41

Nemo1977 · 16/02/2006 16:42

mazzy wish i could do that to but we are reallllly skint..lol We sre currently going through an IVA which is basically a step up from bankrupcy

Mazzystar · 16/02/2006 16:44

oh, sorry, nemo, didn't mean to be tactless

i think yours with the poo was the main attraction though....

Nemo1977 · 16/02/2006 16:48

pmsl mazzy maybe I should sell tickets to see the amazing pooing in the corner boy. Not tactless at all dont worry about it.

sniff · 16/02/2006 21:54

the site is really good easy to follow best of luck with your business venture I need that kind of help but for a seven - eight yr old

nannyme · 17/02/2006 21:52

Sorry you had problems nemo. I just checked it and had no probs myself but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Are you using a MAC with Internet Explorer at all?

Sniff, thanks for the positive feedback. I can do 7 and 8 year old but am all booked up with quadruple the number of freebies I planned for! (Due to my overly generous nature, of course!)

Myabe you Liverpool people could group together for a seminar or mini-course? I have family in Liverpool (Dh's actually) but they don't like us so don't think they'll be offering to put me up!

roisin · 19/02/2006 20:16

Nannyme: I just wanted to wish you all the best. I did have a quick look at your site when you posted on here a couple of weeks ago, and notice you in the article in the Times.

Whenever I've watched a "supernanny"-type programme, it's struck me that there is a real need for this sort of service ... but who in their right mind would do it on National TV!

nannyme · 20/02/2006 01:22

Thanks roisin. To all who are awaiting replies from me, I have you all noted and will be in touch tomorrow or the day after. Have given myself the weekend off this week as it is my Birthday on Monday! Shame it coincides with first day back at school - always a nightmare as it comes as a complete shock after only one week of half term holiday!

I'm probably too late for this but my dd (2.1) is terrible with food - any ideas from anyone would be gratefully received!!
One week she eats huge amounts and then hardly anything for about 3 weeks! I've tried several approaches. I don't make a fuss I just say no pudding unless you eat your lunch/tea. Sometimes she will then eat maybe 2 mouthfuls but mostly she gets no pudding offered. She's worse at nursery (where she always ate normally until about 3 months ago) when some days she eats nothing all day. Every now and then I think I've cracked it as she will eat every meal offered with gusto! and then, 2 or 3 days later we're back to normal refusing to even try one mouthful.
The only think she will consistently eat is tinned spaghetti and (hidden) scrambled egg.
Aaaaargh!!!

MrsWood · 22/02/2006 12:02

jasminesmummy - my dd is quite good with food but she does get iffy sometimes, so we just say - "ok, you don't have to have all of it, but if you have just 5 mouthfools, you can go and play" You choose a number depending on how much she's already had. Then we find that once she's tasted it, she actually wants more! Doesn't work with everyone, but it's worth a go. There are also quite good books you can buy or get from library where you can see how to prepare so fun looking food. For example, french stick can be filled with hams, cheeses or whatever, then cut out so it looks like a snake. Tongue can be shaped out of a little bit of tomato, eyes could be made of mayo etc. And then you could try the approach "Don't you eat that tail!" "Don't you eat that snake's tongue" etc. Kids love doing the opposite of what you ask them to do, so again, worth a go.

lalaa · 22/02/2006 12:12

nemo1977
i had similar probs with my dd. it was all around the time when she was becoming aware of having a poo and didn't like the feeling of it in her nappy - she wasn't potty trained but was about the same age. Happy to share what happened to us and how we cracked it (eventually) if you're interested. don't want to go on and on about poo here unless it'll be helpful!

tracyk · 22/02/2006 12:18

ds 2yo - will eat much better if I pretend that his plastic animals are going to get 'his' mouthful. or put a bit of brocolli on his elephants head and get it 'delivered' to him!
