If your child was a World Champion in something, what would it be?

I think this is in the right category for this thread ... it is to do with behaviour and development ...

DS has mastered the fine art of the "Underarm Fart" ... He got the film 'Robots' for Christmas and then has spent the last 2 weeks fine tuning his fart noise skills.

I am sure if there was a World Championship for Underarm Fart Noises my incredibly gifted son would be in the running for the gold medal.

Sigh ... I am so proud

DS2- slow walking, he trips me up nearly every day by suddenly doing this whilst walking in front of me

ds1- bossiness, absolutely

DS3- faking shyness. He's about as she as George Galloway in reality, but goodness can he switch it on

Ragtaggle · 08/01/2006 19:32

Excuses for me to go to her in the middle of the night. She is only 2.2 but would have me running backwards and forwards all night if I left her. Things she shouts out include "I not very well, I love you mummy, I going to be sick, I done a poo' - anything she things will get a reaction. Much worse since ds 1 (2 months) was born. And she has now taken to doing baby grunts to get me to go to her in the morning copied from him!

kleist · 08/01/2006 19:37

Talking to self. Quite miraculous the conversations she manages to carry on. For hours. sigh ...

helsi · 08/01/2006 19:38

talking. surprises me with some of the words she comes out with.

vicimelly · 08/01/2006 19:39

DD 4.9 repeating 'don't want to, don't want to, DON'T WANT TO!!!' every time she is asked to do absolutely anything, I thing she might have been murdered before she sees her 5th Birthday

wilbur · 08/01/2006 19:46

ds1 - digging his heels in (metaphorically)
dd - attacking ds1 (literally)
ds2 - smiling

Miaou · 08/01/2006 19:52

I think dd1 could be a World Champion Wit. She is so funny, she can have us crying with laughter. She is incredibly quietly spoken, and very shy outside of the home, but boy is she witty.

Mirage · 08/01/2006 20:07

DD1 {27 months)talking, remembering every single thing anyone has ever said or done, bossing us about & sleeping.
DD2,{7 months)shouting,eating & puking.

Marina · 08/01/2006 20:09

ds = yarn-spinning. He can talk for hours on the likely outcome of a Slitheen vs Sith battle, with actions and even flow-charts (he needs to be locked in a room with yours Blu)
dd = laughing. She has a mad cackle that could blast through granite. Sort of cross between Maria Callas and Muttley...people turn round and stare

kleist · 08/01/2006 21:39

Miaou, how old is she? My dd is a real comedian too - she's only 3-and-a-bit but she's got such a dry sense of humour. You find yourself doing a double-take and she's grinning away to herself. Hilarious. She does the most incredible impressions, including impressions of herself, that have me and dp in stitches.

MrsSpoon · 08/01/2006 21:41

Ghosty my DS1 would constest your DS for the crown of the under arm farter, DS1 can also do them with the back of his knee.

Nixz · 08/01/2006 22:42

My dd would be one of those annoying people who wins at everything - provoding the right titiles were there to be won....
1)Wingeing - fantastic at it - 24 hours a day if need be.
2)Trumping - can do the pull the finger trick
3)Making up jokes that dont make sense - a real art, floors dd everytime, fighting for breath between hoots of laughter.
4)Talking - but not any talking, everyword that has not appeared in the dictionary, ever eg aaaawwwerrrr or even the impressive niiaaaaeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww, unbelievably clever use of vocals can and has practised everyday since birth and shows no signs of stopping.
5)drawing - a real talent there
6)imagination - her fairy floozy can vouch for that.
And finally, the art of carrying out, through tears and exhaustion the vow of 'it wasnt me'.
What a star, i am not one of those mothers who think that the sun shines out of their childs bum - so i will be fairly modest here and leave it at that!!!!

ghosty · 09/01/2006 06:52

Excellent!!!!

MrsSpoon .... DS has just mastered the behind the knee fart noise too ....

Producing bogies that are actually bigger than his nose and removing them whole.

nailpolish · 09/01/2006 08:32

dd1 (3) - world champion in getting her own way

dd2 (14 mths) - charming old ladies

Miaou · 09/01/2006 09:53

kleist, she's 8. She has great comic timing and is very quick with her ripostes. Very much a "you had to be there to see why it was funny" kind of humour though, so not many people are aware of it!

Enid · 09/01/2006 09:54

dd2 (3): giving a running commentary on anything on television

Arabica · 09/01/2006 17:08
  1. manipulating mummy into telling stories featuring Noddy, the cast of Lazytown, and a purple baby mole, whenever we are walking along any street & at bedtime.
2. manipulating daddy, ditto 3. Being lovely and cuddly, so 1. and 2. can be forgiven!
HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 09/01/2006 17:10

DS2 is going to be the next Houdini - he can now open his gro-bag - with the zip inside (so inside out)- he (somehow) gets one arm back inside the the gro-bag and unzips it......

onefootinthegravy · 09/01/2006 17:30

My dd nearly 3 is absolutely obsessed with Lazytown, she will not do anything unless I call her sporticus, insists daddy is robby rotten, and all of her toys are the rest of the cast.
She can always be found flying around the lounge in her spaceship, whenever I ask her to do something she is always 'far too busy saving the world!!' Her magic crystal starts flashing and she's off

One bonus is she eats apples and stacks of fruit for energy and tells me sugar is bad and won't eat it!!

saadia · 09/01/2006 18:09

ofitg, ds has just developed a Lazytown obsession as well. To start with he didn't know Sporticus' name so just called him the "good man" and the other one the "scary man". It was such a revelation to him to learn their names. And when it's on he likes to be left alone and tells me to go and wash the dishes .

Passionflower · 09/01/2006 18:24

DD2 (age 4) can burp at will and can do nursey rhymes.

Tortington · 09/01/2006 18:55

world champion bomb site bedroom maker and moaning about tidying it up until i make my mum so angry that she practically vomits. dd

world champion piss off to my girlfirends every single day and never talk to my mum anymore ds1

world champion quiet kid, the quieter i am the less likley mum is to ask me to do anything ( the other two kids haven't cottoned on to this )

babyicebean · 09/01/2006 20:05

No2 HUGE snotty sneezes

No1 Being a stroppy whingy little madam

Arabica · 09/01/2006 20:19

saadia and onefoot, our kids need to get together and act out Lazytown plots! DS is forever shouting 'door' when he wants a door to be opened and insists on eating at least 2 apples a day.
