Fiddling with his boys bits

My wonderful ds has just turned one and a few weeks ago discovered his bits. He now will not leave them alone. Every time he's naked he's pulling on his little willy and fiddling with it all! Obvioulsy I don't really mind, it's all part of discovering what he's made of! But I'm worried about him hurting himself, and about when to tell him to stop! Any advice?

my ds has been doing it for as long as i can remember [now 16 months]. I'd like to leave his nappy off sometimes for everything to 'breathe' but he pulls his willy so hard i'm worried he'll do himself damage. doesn't seem to hurt him amazingly.

So ds (18 months) hasn't shown the slightest bit of interest in his!!! DD was more curious about it than he ever has been!!

He obviously doesn't take after his Daddy!!

"stop it"

worked for me

DS1 - 4yo does it.
DS2 - 15 months does it.
DH - 36 yo does it.

Once they start they just can't stop. He'll not hurt himself, if he does he won't do it so hard the next time. It's normal and natural, don't worry

DS 2.5 has just been toilet trained. He spent the first few days sitting aroudn the house with just shirt and pants on - no nappy, no trousers and so he suddenly had access! Several times I found him sitting there "playing" and when I asked him what he was doing he just looked up at me with his big innocent eyes and said "I just rubbing my willy mummy"!!!

Would definitely discourage it in public though.

On a simlar note, DH sometimes teases the kids by calling them silly billy mcwillys. So DD wanted to know why she couldn't say silly billy vagina!
